Reviews in Las Cruces for Countertop Installation

Natural Decorative Designs

This company was very down to earth and straightforward. They delivered what they said they would deliver, and accommodated us on a couple of extras that we asked for at the end. The granite they installed looked just like the samples. The photo of the slab they emailed us from the granite supplier's yard turned out to be the actual slab they installed.   What we liked best is that they provided a simple price: quoted cost per square foot times number of square feet needed. No ups and extras. In contrast, Home Depot, for example, wanted extra money to cut out the holes for the sinks, and so much per running foot depending on the edge finish style we desired. These extras would have added up to significant totals, maybe as much as a couple of thousand dollars. On the other hand, the folks at Decorative Designs said flatly, whatever edge we want, they will cut it, and they will cut out for the sinks at no extra charge. At the end, I asked if I could have baseboards of the same granite to place under my cabinets. They accommodated me, and even corrected some measurement mistakes I made on the baseboards at no cost to me. We liked that we dealt directly with the team of company owner, Marcos Torres,  and his manager, Rafael. I am a skeptical person and initially had some reservations about giving a 60-percent down payment, but in hindsight, I got a good job and a good deal. Also, you can also hold out the final 40 percent until you make a careful inspection and are satisfied, but I found them fair and reasonable. I noted that the last time I talked to them, they were planning some work for a Marriott Hotel in town. They also are known as Ceramic Tile and Natural Stone, Inc.

I went into this contract way too naive. The sales experience was great. The great experience ended there. Chuck is a very "good" talker. He provided the answers to my questions with what every homeowner would want to hear. They were to demo the old countertops as well as the backsplash. I was misled on the amount of destruction that would occur during demo (there's quite a difference between "SOME" damage and complete destruction of sheetrock during backsplash removal). They did not clean up any of the material that fell down into the cabinets. They started demo of the backsplash after they had removed the original countertop. Reverse order there, if you ask me (the novice homeowner). So more junk fell into the cabinets, which I wound up having to clean out. When I stopped them from continuing the demo of the backsplash, I called the owner/manager, Eddie. After some heated words (no cussing), Eddie told me "I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER". The demolition was stopped. I was given a perceived $500 credit to be applied to a stainless steel sink. It took two weeks before I could get someone I know and trust to demo/repair the sheetrock. Upon notifying 77Stone, it took another week to schedule an appointment to come out and make the template. Approximately onne month to cut the countertops (one for the kitchen cabinets and one for a kitchen island. Day of installation finally came. They installed the island top 6 inches off of true. It was sooooo obvious and they were going to leave without making it right. The undermount sink (supply your own sink - don't believe them about the quality of any sink they are to supply, only trust what you used before). The sink was mounted 1-1/2 inches off center. Also soooooo obbvious. They were also going to leave it as such. I had them realign it. Guess what they used to move it over? A 24 ounce carpenter's hammer. 6 obvious dings later on the stainless steel sink I called Eddie back after sending him a description and photo's of the damage. He would replace the damaged sink. Chuck came out 1-1/2 weeks later to inspect the damage and make the template for the pieces on either side of the stove. Another two weeks went by before the install of the these pieces by the stove and another failed attempt to install the sink (they brought the wrong sink). The install was poorly done as the epoxy was mixed improperly and ran downwards, leaving another sooooo obvious gap on top and gluing the stove in place. They came out again in about two weeks to repair the gap and replace the sink. Guess what - wrong sink again. They did "repair" the gap, sort of. Anyway - it was almost another week before they finally brought the correct sink for the template that was cut out. In the process of installing it the workers chipped the counter top. Front center. About the size of a dime. It was "repaired". No way I can prove it was done on purpose, but this couldn't have been orchestrated any better in order to aggravate my wife and me. As unprofessional as they come - from the top down and the bottom up. Save your self even a small amount of stress and go with someone else for your countertops. If you like a particular product at 77Stone just get the manufacturer and product name, and any other countertop installer can get it. I have saved text messages, photo's, video's, and witnesses who overheard conversations. Also have saved most dates/times. Some are very close approximations of dates/times. Well - to top it all off, the epoxy mixed for use on the main seam on the sink counter has begun separating. I will not allow these idiots back in my house. Do yourself a big favor and find someone else to install your countertops.

This was overall a smooth transaction.  The crews were on time for each visit and the project was completed on or before the expected date.  There was a slight hitch with one of the counter back splashes not fitting properly and the workmen chose to redo the back splash, which added an extra week, but they still completed the project on time.  I chose laminate because it comes in lots of colors and I didn't want the typical granite countertop that is so popular right now.  I was impressed with the quality of their work.  They really seemed to care about their craftsmanship.

My spare bathroom had old, outdated tile in the tub and needed new fixtures as well. Atlas tore out the old tile, replaced it with new, and added new fawcets. They also replaced the countertops throughout my house on another project, so everything looks more modern and updated. I am a single woman, so it is important that I work with people I can trust to give me a good deal, but also to do the work properly. That's why I always use Atlas Home Repair for everything from minor plumbing issues to big remodeling jobs. I plan to have them re-roof my house this fall.

Everything was fine with them. They were great. They were very responsive and they came up with good ideas with things I hadn't thought of. They were very professional. I intend to use them again because I am going to remodel my other bathroom and my kitchen when I have the money. I didn't compare their prices too much but I did compare them to a big box store. They were very professional.

Alan who runs the company is very responsive and also has excellent suggestions when you are not sure what you want.  Work began and proceeded daily other than some unexpected order delays.  Workers were polite and responsive and totally trusworthy as work needed to be done when no one was at home.  The results are stunning - a brand new kitchen.  This was also done at a cost below several other estimates and with quality materials such as the automatic soft-close kitchen drawers. Highly recommend!

Recent Review: The project went off well and was conpleted in the time frame of 4 days that George committed to.  The crew was professional, arrived on time, worked steadily and cleaned up each day.  George was there for the demolition and visited the site at critical junctures like when the appliances were being moved into place.  He was slow and careful moving the equipment into our house which avoided any nicks or scrapes on the walls or appliances.  We had one small concern on a dishwasher gasket that had gotten folded back on itself during the install and George sent his plumber back promptly when we brought  it to his attention. All in all, we were very pleased and would both recommend George and use his company again.

Recent Review: They were very professional, helpful and responsive in answering questions and giving us a quote. In the end, we decided not to repair the countertop and sink but replace it entirely. as the previous owner installed it and it no longer fit our decor. Even though we didn't use them to make the repairs, we were very impressed with their customer service.

Recent Review: Great experience! Steve Bickel from Rocky Mountain Stone came down and provided a great quote. He worked to get our install scheduled around our time constraints. Rocky Mountain did a great job in every aspect. The subcontractor, Chris Quintana brought his crew in to do the demo and then returned to re-connect all the appliances and  install the back splash. Chis did a GREAT job of working with us to select tile to coordinate with our new granite. He worked diligently to make sure we were happy with every aspect and we were. We would recommend both Rocky Mountain Stone and Chris Quintana to anyone!
