Las Cruces Concrete Patio Installation

Project went great and was completed quickly. My backyard looks amazing! The workers were courteous and knowledgeable. Mr. G kept me up to date on the timeline as things progressed. I would definitely have landscape services done again by Gonzales Landscaping.

After being ripped off by another contractor in town, we were a little apprehensive about hiring anyone else. I am glad we called Roy Brown from RJB Construction. He was on time, on budget, and completely professional in every way. He knows his business well. He in an honest business man and a pleasure to work with. He even had an old tree stump removed that I had worked on for weeks and couldn't get out. This he had done for free. I would hire him again anytime!

The whole process was impressive. Ivan was responsive and competent. What I expected to accomplish in 7-10 days was essentially complete in one day. He works a job that leaves the middle of the week available for work. The whole project went very well, and I would recommend him without hesitation for patio, drive-way or similar work.

Outstanding! The work was complete and professional. The crew arrived early each day and informed us of their goals for the day. Mr. G was constantly engaged with us and we were informed of possible extra work that he suggested. There were no suprises. The work sites were cleaned at the end of the project. We are very pleased with the results.

Mr Gonzales and his crew were FANTASTIC! From the beginning when I called to schedule an appointment for an estimate,Mr Gonzales did what he said. Arrived on time for appointment and followed up with phone calls to see if there were any questions. When we started the project he checked with us every step to make sure we were happy with what he was doing. We had a concrete island built in the backyard and concrete patio poured. Had a palm tree and other plants planted. They installed a drip system for all the plants. His crew arrived everyday and worked hard. It was hot but they kept on working and completed the project in 3 days. Cleaned up the area and made everything look so wonderful. We are so happy with everything. I will be calling them in the future to have other projects done.

1 and 2 were done very well. He got the other workers and finished this work efficiently and on time. His prices for both labor and materials were good although I always negotiated these down from what he asked. I paid for the flagstones and benches although Paulie picked these up from Cemex (he charged less for delivery than Cemex). I also bought the gravel rock directly from Cemex and they delivered. 3. This project is the most I am unhappy with and would not recommend he be given concrete pouring jobs without supervision. The slope was not done correctly and now I have water standing everytime it rains. I have to sweep out the water manually else it might damage the foundation of the house around the front patio. 4. Paulie got another person named Jose who did the tile work for both the front and back patio. I bought the tiles and the grout. The price was reasonable and the quality of work acceptable. The only issue was Jose only spoke spanish. He managed to convey to me despite our language barrier about the concrete slope problem but by the time I got on the phone with Paulie and asked him to come over and rectify the problem, Jose had finished tiling a major part of the patio. Both then proceeded to convince me its not a major problem. However, it is a big problem because a lot of water is left standing after a rain shower. 5. Paulie also got one of his friends to do this project and I am also not happy with the quality of work. I paid the money directly to this other person. His name is either Mike or Martin - cannot remember now and he too spoke only spanish. From my experience, I think Paulie is good for handyman projects around the outside of houses. Anything he can't do, its better not to let him get any of his friends to do the job because I have not found these other people to be reliable. Its also a good idea to negotiate prices with him as he tends to name a big amount upfront. I have also paid him more than the agreed upon price voluntarily on some occasions as he underestimated the amount of work but worked hard and sincerely nonetheless to complete the job. It is this quality in him that I liked. I will probably ask Paulie to do things around the house but I will make sure he knows what he is doing. As a person, he is very hardworking and I think he genuinely means well when it comes to working for his customers.

Our original plans were different from the final design. Paul Korody evaluated our plans and suggested changes due to the expense of what we originally asked for. We took his suggestions and ended up with a quote about half of what our original plan would have cost. Paul was professional and so were his crew. They showed up on a Monday morning and finished by Friday, completely to our satisfaction. Docked one notch for missing our first consultation appointment and not calling back by the next day. We almost passed them up because of this. All other criteria we were completely satisfied and would definitely recommend using them again. I did not rate them on price because we are unfamiliar with the landscaping business and other landscaping companies we contacted were unable to quote us right away due to their workload. The pricing did come in under what we had budgeted, so we were satisfied.

The job started with several discussions on schedule and an estimate of cost.  The estimate was very fair, and the work started right away.  One major concern we had due to experiences with other contractors was that workers would start on a job, then disappear for a while on a different job, and the work would take forever to complete.  This did not happen at all with RJB.  There were workers at the house nearly every single day working all day for over a month and a half.  There were no issues on schedule at all; in fact, getting all of the work that we requested done in about 6 weeks was (in my wife's words) a small miracle.  Each part of the project was scheduled and coordinated to be efficient, which resulted in minimal waiting time between tasks.  For example, as soon as the roof schedule was determined, the heating and cooling subcontractor was on the job, completing the work before the roofing contractor would be in the way. And the ceiling repairs were done while the back-porch rebuild was also in-progress.  The stucco repairmen and the painters and the framers were all quick and professional, and very personable, nice, and friendly, people.  They cleaned up the jobsite(s) at every chance; even raking the dirt on the side of the house before they left, which is something we haven't done since we moved in 17 years ago.  All in all, this job was very well managed, very professional, and a good value for the quantity and quality of work performed.  Roy was very professional, even pointing out recommendations where they made sense such as removing two clerestory windows that were causing problems with leaking.  We would have never thought of actually removing the windows, but when it was said and done, we were amazed at how much better it actually looked.  In summary, we are very pleased with the work done, and would recommend  Roy Brown and RJB Construction for all your remodeling needs.
