Robert Howard responded very quickly to my request for an estimate and was able to do the work on the next weekend which was very convenient for us. He was very patient when the builder's pipe was not the expected size and he had to go get additional parts. He was very professional, clean and tidy, and explained everything he was doing. Our next radon test (30 days later) was reduced and within acceptable limits. He explained a lot about radon to us, and told us not to use a radon test kit from a big box store because they can be stored in a warehouse that could already expose the kit to radon particles. He explained how to use the state testing service for radon. I would recommend him to my neighbors.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Dave. He was knowledgeable, thorough and helpful. As with all real estate closings, time was an issue and Dave worked with us throughout the process to get the job done in time. He went over and above to get us the reports we needed when we needed them. I highly recommend Dave to anyone needing a home inspection or radon test.

I'd already gotten my test results of radon gas being at 7.8 in my house, so Affordable Environmental Services was one of the companies I called about getting an estimate. The owner came out that afternoon and was on time, was very courteous and professional. I was immediately impressed with the time he spent to examine everything carefully, taking notes. I had a lot of questions and he answered all of them--he was very knowledgeable. He sketched out how he would design the system, which I liked. Within a few hours of his visit, he emailed me a proposal and called to see if I had any questions. His price was in line with the other estimates I got and I decided to go with AES because I could tell by how thoroughly he examined and explained everything that he'd do a good job, and he did. He showed up on time and worked very hard installing the system. He did an outstanding job, cleaned everything up thoroughly and I couldn't have asked for more. The system brought the radon level down to 1.1 which is lower than we thought. I recommend this company highly for their promptness, professionalism and good work.

It went very well. Joe was punctual to our appointment and stayed in communication with me from the time I hired him through the completion of the inspection and radon report. He did a great job identifying concerns during the home inspection and took excellent photos. One part of the inspection report was not worded in a way that I wished to present to the seller; however, Joe was very agreeable to modify the wording when I asked him to. I would use him again.

Cliff was extremely thorough, detailed, informative and polite. He explained everything in our inspection in terms that were easy to understand and helpful for our future in the home. The home was in excellent condition, so there weren’t major things to find, but that didn’t stop him from looking or seeking out other potential issues. Highly recommend Cliff, very personable and knowledgeable.

Joe provided us with excellent service and his inspection on a potential home we were going to buy revealed numerous issues. His services were extremely professional and I can’t thank him enough. The report went above and beyond of what I expected and you can tell he knows exactly what to look for from the inspection report. He provides the customer with a way of creating repairs lists from the report itself so we didn’t have to spend the rest of our lives copying and pasting into a word document. Thanks for the incredible service. We will definitely use again.

Environmental Testing & Research Laboratories, Inc. sent a package with 2 vials and instructions for collecting the samples. I collected the samples as instructed, completed a questionnaire, and returned the sample vials as instructed. A week or two later they sent the analysis. Everything went as expected. There were no problems.

They were fantastic. I was able to get a model that resembles a box versus the bulky-looking radon fans most homes have. They were also able to install it in a location that hides it very well. I'm very pleased with the installation and their service.

Joe was very responsive to our request for service and made himself available on a Saturday which worked well for my husband who is very busy during the week. Joe was through and went into much detail when we meet with him to go over our home inspection. After our report, we decided not purchase the home because it would require a significant financial investment which we did not want to make.He also performed a Radon test for us because the home was a basement lot.Joe is quick, honest and reliable. We will use him again.

Radon-Rid LLC

We purchased our home and during the inspection process performed a radon test, which returned 6-8 pCl. Radon-Rid performed a radon test at our request to double check the first test, and also returned the same result. A radon mitigation unit was proposed and the installation was explained in advance. Radon-Rid answered our questions about appearance of the unit and ventilation spouts on the outside of our house, noise levels, electrical design and efficiency, and installation process. Radon-Rid responded to our request to have the ventilation spouts run up the chimney in a way that minimized the visual impact and blends with the rest of the houses downspouts. Most people do not notice it is not a downspout. The outdoor unit itself is efficient, costing about 8-9 dollars in electricity per month. A small price to pay for safer air for the family. Radon-Rid performed a second test after the installation of the unit, and the result was about 2-3 pCl on average. The one critical point was the electrician didn't come out to complete the electrical hookup for about 2 weeks, so I had to continue to use an extension cord during that time. Also, the work was performed at times when the ground was muddy and there was some dirt left inside the house and on an area rug. Overall, they were courteous, responsive, and delivered the expected result.

Before we officially decided to do the radon inspection, Dave answered several of my questions and concerns regarding the testing process and reliability of results. This test was mostly for my peace of mind. At the beginning of the home inspection, Dave set up the radon inspection device. It sat there for two days. Dave scheduled for pick up and promptly turned the results over to us.

Joe showed up on time for the appointment on the coldest rainy day imaginable for a home inspection. He was truly prepared for things like this to happen and had multiple changes of clothes and shoes ready so that he could give equal attention to the interior and the exterior of the home. He worked on the inspection for a few hours and when he was ready to review the results we gathered in the kitchen and he went over all the results. He listed out everything that was found and for the detailed explanations we went directly to the area of concern, even if that meant going outside in the cold rain. What stood out to me as above and beyond the duties expected was the fact that he helped me prioritize the list of issues and offered helpful and detailed explanations of how I could a lot fix these things myself. He was extremely thorough and pointed out stuff that I had no idea about, like the anti-tip bracket for the oven to protect it from flipping over on a child standing on the door. I asked him a lot of random questions about things not covered by the home inspection (like phone and data lines) and he answered all that for me too, even though he was not obligated. This was my first experience with a home inspector and I was going off of a word of mouth recommendation from a friend. I am completely satisfied with the results. I probably will not need his services again for a few years but I feel 100% confident that I (or any friends I recommend him to) would get equal results. Buying a home was such a whirlwind of activity with numerous faces involved and it was really nice to have someone as friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable as Joe around.

Recent Review: We found Eye Spy Home Inspection to be wonderful to work with. Inspector Daryl Palubiak was referred by someone in the area, and we were so glad. When I looked him up on Angies LIst, I was glad to see he had A Reports, but disappointed that he was so far down the listing, because without this personal referral, I would not have found them. (Daryl told me that they don't pay Angies List for advertising, which means they end up at the bottom of the list! I won't be renewing my membership to Angie's btw, if that's how it works. I believed their advertising that businesses don't pay to be on AL. I guess, technically they don't .. but a shame that the ones that pay get all the visibility... while professional and experienced contractors who don't pay end up on page 28.) Anyway -- Daryl spent time on the phone with me and I felt comfortable with the information he provided (and I also loved the fact that he's been a fireman in Tega Cay for many years!), so we hired him to perform our inspection. We were most impressed with the whole experience, the team arrived promptly, in uniform, were very thorough and obviously very experienced with homes and the issues that might be found. The report was received online, was detailed (even including lots of information that they didn't have to include, but that as a new homeowner was really helpful for us to know. Some maintenance things he noticed that we would want to take care of to avoid bigger problems down the road, where all our emergency shutoffs were etc). We were able to get several of the items on the report repaired by the sellers, which we were thrilled about. Our many thanks to Daryl Palubiak and EyeSpy Home Inspections. We will be giving a referral to anyone we hear looking for a home inspection.

Recent Review: Everything went well. He was not only punctual, he was early. He was thorough. He was accommodating and personable. The results of the inspection was provided in a written report within hours and he o took photos showing details of items needing repair. The results of the radon with an explanation was provided immediately after the 72 hour testing. I was very pleased with the job done by Mark and he worked with my schedule. I would highly recommend him. Since the inspection and since the review, I have had contact with Mark Pondo and he continues to be helpful and receptive. I liked his website because it lists all of his pricing and you know the costs up front. That helped me decide to go with Mark and his pricing is competitive with other vendors. In addition, he had some discounts that other inspection companies did not have. I find Mark to be a stand-up guy and again would highly recommend him.

Recent Review: Well, we are buying an older home that we know needs work. While I'm a bit handy, I did want some additional information and background. Plus, as the house has a cellar, radon testing was a no brainer. I arrived early at the house at the time of inspection, and Jason Thompson had already arrived. To make a long story short, Jason spent the next 3 hours walking around and through the house. He had a number of findings, and it felt like a thorough walkthrough. As for the radon, Lynda King was on site to collect the radon devices. They both answered my myriad of questions. Do I expect that we found everything wrong with the house? Goodness no. I'm certain that there are numerous small issues that we missed, but I still feel that this was a thorough review and inspection. The reports were received on a Saturday evening, a quick turnaround in my opinion.

Recent Review: I've used this company twice. The first experience was fantastic. The second time which was in December I had a couple issues with the report. There was a code violation that was unfounded and a kitchen faucet rated Satisfactory that would not rotate from sink to sink. However, these guys handled the issues like professionals and owned up to it.. So, for the most part these guys are a top notch company in my book. I would hire them again.

Recent Review: The Inspector was very thorough and concise. He was also punctual, courteous and communicated very well. I thought the cost of the service was fair and the service from this provider excellent. The inspector was very knowledgeable and detail oriented. For every problem he found, no matter how minor, he took pictures of this and included it in his report. At the end of the inspection, he got with me (the buyer) and explained his entire inspection and showed me every picture he took and suggested ways on how to have the issue resolved. Home Inspection Carolina also issued a full report by the end of the day! This business has got it together, from the office people all the way to the inspector. I give this business an A+++!
