Michael was very courteous, prompt and knowledgeable. I thought my sliding door lock needed to be replaced and he said let me try something first and it was fixed in 5 minutes saving me money.

Called company twice and did not receive a return call from the salesman. Tried again and a salesman called to set up an appointment. I used Berry Door because I had been a customer for approximately twenty years. I had purchased two garage doors from Berry and had the doors serviced by Berry over the years. Meeting with the salesman proceeded as expected. I ordered two doors to be delivered in October. I signed a contract for the doors. One of the doors was received with damage and the installation date was changed to November 14, 2013. After the doors were installed, I noticed the locking mechanism didn't go all the way in. I called my locksmith who said the lock had been installed incorrectly and the door could have been opened with a screw driver. Also, where the lock had been installed were cracks in the door. The second page of my contract was missing. I asked the company to send me a copy in November. I haven't received a copy of the contract I signed. My problem is with the location of the peephole. It is visually unacceptable. I am 4'10" and even I have to stoop down to use it. The location is in the top panel below a glass insert midway between the glass and the bottom of the top panel. Someone from the company came out to look at the door. He said the company had questioned the salesman about the peephole location and the salesman assured the shop it was correct. No one contacted me at that time. The representative said the cracks could be fixed, I had paid my locksmith to reinstall the lock, and the only problem remaining was the peephole. The proposed solution was to cover it with a door knocker. The company was planning to use the hole for the existing peephole as one of the mounting holes for a door knocker and to drill another hole The representative told me if I didn't like it, perhaps they would cut me a new slab. When the service person came to install the door knocker, he was planning to cover the peephole with a large washer on the inside of the door and I told him that was unacceptable. The technician became belligerent and yelled at me for 15 minutes. He said if I didn't accept the solution, I would get several phone calls from the salesman and the main office. He also accused the locksmith of damaging the door. He repeated the same information several times asking me if I were sure I wouldn't accept covering the peephole with a washer. He repeated the questions and threats in a rude manner. No one contacted me. I called the salesman who apologized for the technician's attitude. The salesman told me the company would not replace the door. Since I paid cash for the doors, I feel I have no recourse but other consumers should be aware of the company's attitude toward a long-standing customer. I would use a credit card in the future for added protection.

Everything was done efficiently and professionally. I am very pleased and will be using them again in the future. I paid for an extra hour beyond the original 2 hr deal so that everything could get done. Their rate per hour is definitely less than previous work I had done.

I am looking at having siding, gutters, etc., done and would call them for a bid, for sure. I know they stand by their guarantees, as my parents also worked with them and had a picture window and sliding glass doors installed. One of the locks was being stubborn, and they came out and replaced it without any quarrel, and the doors were about a year old. I would say in the world of subcontracting, home remodeling, etc., they have to be one of the better ones I've dealt with, or heard of others dealing with.

Overhead Door Company of St Louis

When deciding to get a new sliding glass door and storm door I chose Overhead Door of St. Louis, because they had given me excellent service on my garage doors for 30+ years. I was leery of going to a big box store and having a handyman install my door and not getting a warranty. Jim visited my newly purchased condo on 11/13 to give me an estimate and help with my selection of doors. The doors were measured twice by 2 different individuals to assure the proper fit. On 11/16 the doors were ordered and approximately 4 weeks later my doors were scheduled for installation. Zack showed up early on 12/20 and patiently lugged my sliding glass doors up 3 flights of stairs piece-by-piece. Zack was very neat - he put covering on my floors and sectioned off the room; he was detailed in caulking and insulation; he was articulate by adding a piece of wood on my threshold for my storm door. Zack communicated well and explained the process as he worked. The end result is that my doors are beautiful are perfectly installed. If you’re considering entry doors, I encourage you to call Overhead Door of St. Louis.

We called Dale to come to the house because we have used him on several occasions. We were interested in a storm door. We set this up with him and it turned out, no one in St. Louis would do the storm door because we have a Gothic arch shaped opening. Dale was able to contact a door company in Detroit. Dale and his employee came out and measured and made a template of the door. Dale proceeded to order the door. We asked for photos before it was shipped. It looked GREAT!! The door was shipped and Dale and the installer came to the house and installed the door. It looks FABULOUS!!! When our friends see the door, they call it "AMAZING".

This was our second experience with The Wright Door. Both visits provided quality service and professionalism. The first use of The Wright Door was for the installation of a new door opener. The second was an Angie's List Deal for roller replacement and door tuneup. Service was exceptional and we would not hesitate to use them again. In addition to providing the specified service, the door was adjusted for as much quietness as possible, and when I requested that our vehicle's Homelink system be programmed, it was quickly and courteously done. Kudos to The Wright Door!

Recent Review: As part of a small bathroom remodeling job we replaced the shower doors with new ones and Lennie of AAA Remodeling recommended H & H Glassworks for the job.  The doors look great and the quality seems superior to similar doors from the big box stores.  Scheduling the installation was a breeze and they arrived on time.  Overall, this was a great experience.

Recent Review: Geoff and Mike were great to work with. Their bid was very reasonable.  Their crew is all hands, feet and elbows on a job. They really hustled to get the job done and they did good quality work. They even helped us move some furniture through the picture window opening on the second floor. That was a huge help. After the job, there were a couple of minor touch ups that needed to be done (there always are), but Geoff took care them right away. Overall, I was very satisfied with their work. I would definitely use them again.

Recent Review: We live in an 80-year old house that suffered neglect for a number of years, followed by some shoddy repairs. The paint was flaking off the deteriorated frames of the leaded windows, several panes were cracked, the leading was not looking great, really ugly caulk jobs had been done around doors, the jambs were alligatoring and peeling, doorknobs didn't latch, and you could see daylight all around the edges of several doors. I called the only company I had heard of that specialized in this kind of work (Old Growth Window Restoration) and was told that they had a 2-year waiting list. I asked them if they could recommend anybody else, and they said the only company they could recommend was Artisan Restoration. Lucky for me, they only had a 1-year waiting list. Ed, the owner, came out rather quickly. He worked with me on costs where applicable, for instance saying that I could save money by not refinishing the insides of some doors that looked good, or not restoring the inner windows in a double layer of windows. and wrote me up a very detailed estimate which I agreed to. Then came the waiting. I bugged them a few times throughout the process and they patiently updated me with the current ETA, which admittedly slipped a few times. Once I saw the nature of the work, though, I understood why delays might happen. They took our leaded windows back to the shop and boarded up the openings. To prevent our home from looking *too much* like a derelict property during the process, they did this in a couple of different batches, bringing back the previous batch before taking the next one. This took quite some time, but when they came back the panes were replaced, weatherstripping was installed where needed, the leading was resoldered where needed, the hardware was cleaned up or replaced, and the weathered wood was sanded down or patched/replaced and beautifully painted or stained. The door jambs were stripped and sanded on site, the old caulk was dug out, and new caulk was put in. I had them add a few additional pieces to the job after they started, and they agreed without complaint; they also offered to paint the front door (which wasn't part of the original plan) at a good rate since they already had the paint. While the appearance of the work pretty much speaks for itself, you can tell they really go the extra mile, taking a planer to windows that don't fit quite right when they're reinstalled and fixing up other issues like windows not opening and closing right. They even got the doorknobs to catch in their latches, which hadn't happened previously. Ed and his partner Jason are also easygoing and friendly, chatting about things, explaining why they're doing things a certain way, and so on. I'd hire them to do every door, window and frame in the house, but... as you can imagine, this is not an inexpensive project to undertake. Depending on how you count, they restored up to 21 individual pieces. It was the most expensive home improvement project I've ever undertaken, coming in at just over $10k. But after seeing the sheer amount of work required to do this, and the results they achieve, I think it's a fair price.

Recent Review: Kurt and Justin were great to work with. The price wasn't the lowest but it wasn't the highest either. Kurt was very responsive and came out the day I called him to sign a contract and answer any additional questions. Justin was also professional during the install and everything looks great. I will definitely be using this company again.
