Warrensburg Range Hood Installation

I called and they made the appointment quickly. Brian called to confirm the appointment.  He was free earlier than the appointment time and called to see if he could come earlier, which I really appreciated. He got straight to work and did a good job. Brian was very friendly, knowledgeable, and answered our questions and was very professional. I would not hesitate to have Brian come back for any of our needs. Price was right also.  I encourage anyone who needs help around the house for small projects to call this company.

The project went very well.  Rae and Rose were great to work with and RARE's craftsmen were excellent.  It was clear that the firm and principals had extensive experience.  Rose made sure we had high quality options for appliances, plumbing supplies, and decorating.

Mr. Calvin discussed our project and developed a detailed proposal with labor and materials cost clearly outlined, he met with us again and agreed to project modifications. He assisted if with sources for materials and communicated throughout the project. The renovation crew was capable, courteous and hardworking. Work quality was top notch. Mr. Calvin kept in close contact with the crew to resolve questions. Overall, Mr. Calvin is a polite and knowledgeable contractor who is very clear in project proposals, and provides top quality work. This is the second project he has done for us and I recommend him strongly.

Guy showed up, looked at it, said it might require ductwork to get it completed, but was not sure, and was going to check on it and get back to me. the next day I get a call from the company saying, BTW, he is out for 2 days on vacation and will not get back to me until the next week. He never reached back out. A few weeks later, I called the company to figure out what was going on. Was told he was not going to do it as they didn't handle ductwork, and that I needed an HVAC guy to do it. I asked for them to send someone else, as I did not believe that was required. They said No. They did not offer a suggestion of who to call or provide an explanation of why no one let me know this. Not very happy with these guys, and would not recommend them.

I needed their expertise on what to do to get light at bottom of stairs - they did an excellent job.  (I will be using them for more things in the future - not just the new dishwasher installation that is planned for tomorrow.) (I found a coupon too - great.) 

They did an excellent job. My cabinetmaker was very complimentary about the quality of their work. It works beautifully.

The project went very well. After considerable and constructive input from David Murrell we were able to reach agreement on the changes we wished to make to our 22 year old kitchen. David's architectural background was very helpful in the design phase. The demolition and new construction was performed in a timely manner with minimal disruption to our everyday activities. The project time lines were generally met and delays were mainly due to decisions that we were slow in making. The area was cleaned up very well at the end of each day and the overall quality of the finished product more than met our expectations.

I would rate them a ?B? in everything but clean up, that would be a ?C?. The reason for that is, they did a real professional job, the installation was fine. On the clean up, on the blanket they put down to protect the floor, we have hardwood floors. There was a white material on that blanket, I don?t know what it was, it wasn?t paint. I noticed that. Then after they left, I noticed foot tracks of this white material and I am thinking, oh my god, this is paint. There were several footprints in the hardwood floors. I thought, all man this is going to be terrible.  My wife gave me some kind of floor cleaning device, some kind of mop and it came right up. I had to use a little bit of elbow grease, but that is why I?m rating them a ?C? on that. The good news, it came up, otherwise, it would be lower than that. They also left a ladder, which they haven?t come after yet. Now I already talked to the owner about these problems, so it?s nothing new. I would use them for certain things. I don?t think I would use them again for this. 

We met with a kitchen design specialist on 3-4-11.  She was helpful and knowledgeable about the various products.  We selected the countertop, sink and faucet, disposal, range hood, gas range and dishwasher that day.  We had to go to a different department for the flooring but were given to understand that the work would be coordinated.  We paid for and took the smaller items home with us that day (disposal, hood, faucet and gas range).  The countertop people were great - they came out as scheduled and did the preparation and later installed the countertop and undermounted sink as well as the backsplach.  But, after that, things kind of went downhill.  Mind you, everything was already on our HD charge card at this point.  First problem was with the plumber who was supposed to hook up the sink and diposal. We also thought he was supposed to install the dishwasher and hook up the range.  He was not at all professional and actually complained that HD wasn't paying him enough. He pretty much refused to hook up the range and dishwasher because he wasn't getting paid enough.   His work was pretty shoddy on the sink and my husband complained to HD. After much argument, they finally sent their "Master plumber" out and she ended up agreeing that it was not done properly.  They did make it right but it was a hassle.  My husband actually ended up hooking up the range and dishwasher himself. The next problem was with the flooring.  We selected a hard bamboo "floating" floor.  This was not a cheap floor and not like a Pergo type floor.  The product was delivered and we had a heck of a time getting the installers to come out .  When they did, they said we had a "high" spot between the entry hall and the kitchen and they just left!  Now, an estimator had already come out to look at the floor prior and he didn't find any problem like that so we were stumped about what to do .  As it turned out, we had to find a flooring conttactor to come in and level the floor - another $700.  After that, HD sent in a different crew of installers and they did a good job - the head guy even said that they could have fixed the high spot for less cost!!  I guess that's easy to say after the work was done.  It's been 3 months now and we are over the trauma - only problem we seem to have is the kitchen faucet wobbled and my husband has done some work on it..  I guess this was one of our more complicated projects but I really don't think I would do it the same way if I had it to do over again. 

Scheduling of the estimate went very well, and when I decided to hire them, the work was scheduled immediately to meet my needs. On the scheduled date for the installation, the installer arrived on time and completed the work in a timely and professional manner. I was completely satisfied.
