If I could give an A+ rating, I would. Casey is a true craftsman who does meticulous work. He is honest and reliable. Over the past eight years, he has done exceptional finish carpentry work on our basement remodel, installed a very nice tile shower, and created a stunning thinset brick accent wall. He has also helped with a couple handyman projects. Casey takes pride in his workmanship. I have very high expectations and he has consistently met or exceeded them. I will continue to use Casey on future projects and highly recommend him without hesitation.

We contacted Handyman Pete after reading reviews on Angies List. We set an appointment for Pete to come look at the work so he could bid the job. He was flexible on being able to come out on the weekend. He was on time and stated he would have an estimate back to us in a few days. True to his word he called back with an estimate a couple of days after his initial job inspection. The price was reasonable for the amount of work that was needed. We had him install all of the window and door trim. Also the baseboard. The work included two large trapezoid lakeside windows. Pete was very good about keeping in contact as we were working on getting the trim ordered, delivered, and stained in preparation for install. We set a date for install. Everything stayed on schedule. Pete did very nice work. He made sure we were happy with everything before he wrapped up the job. He always cleaned up after and never left a mess. We will definitely be using Handyman Pete again for future work.

The heat had dried the wood and opened up the gaps that were previously perfect. He resanded and repaired an area of my porch trim. He had a warrenty and he stuck to it. When he finished it the first time it looked flawless. Then the weather got to it, which I don't blame them for.

The workmanship and attention to detail was excellent. He was punctual and conscientious about the worksite, I had grandchildren around and he was sure not to leave any nails, tools etc. out around the children. I was totally satisfied and would recommend him to anyone.

Overall, the window-storm door-trim project was quite successful, but not without snags/problems. The first snag arose after I reminded Jaymey that the window openings on the south side were to receive the double hung windows. Jaymey immediately stated the instructions to one of his workers, who about a half-hour later (after Jaymey had left to check on another project) began to install a sliding window on the south side. Nonetheless, I spotted the mistake early, so that turned out okay. (It pays to keep a close eye on things.) The second snag arose from defective caulk. As I planned to paint the interior trim, paintable caulk was needed between the joints. However, a bad batch of caulk proved not to be paintable (save for one tube). I complained and Jaymey sent out an employee. The employee looked at the absence of adhesion and said that the interior trim was vinyl. I told him that it was wood. When he was convinced that it was wood, I said that the easiest fix was to replace the interior trim. He said that he was not comfortable with that and left. Nonetheless, after I spent several hours sanding off the caulk from the wood surface, the window installation turned out fine. The next snag was in the placement of the door handle-lock fixture in the storm door to the back yard entrance. Apparently, measurements weren’t taken prior to installing the fixture with the result that the plunger could not be engaged by using a key on the outside. Jaymey sent out an employee with a saw to shorten the plunger. After he shortened it and after I spent about 30 to 45 minutes filing down the sharp edges, the storm door installation too turned out fine. Another shortcoming was a string of quite noticeable scratches on the front entry door. My wife said that they were not there before work was done on the outside storm door. Nonetheless, the front door had some minor scratches from Christmas wreath decorations and likely should be repainted anyway. Finally, there was a blotch of something on one of the screens, quite irritating at the time, but weather apparently has removed it. So, overall, everything turned out not badly, in fact, quite good. I like Jaymey. Although most of his crew seem to me not to be overly endowed with talent (JC is an exception, he seems quite capable), if you keep a close eye on things, the work should turn out okay. With this caveat, I would recommend Dornbusch Construction. I also should remark that I may have Dornbusch Construction do more work in the future. I should also add that Jaymey always returns telephone calls and has a pleasant manner.

Jim was a real craftsman. We went with natural cedar - no stain - so Jim sanded and sealed every board on both sides at his shop before the installation. Every end board was scribed to fit the wall exactly so there was no need for trim. The ceiling is gorgeous! We are very happy with it. We've had Jim do work for us before. He built a bench and cabinet for our entryway. He finished our stairway, and even sheetrocked the family room. His work is always very well done. I would highly recommend him.

Mint Property Services did an exceptional job. They were professional and punctual, and communicated well throughout the process regarding progress and timelines. They completed all items to degrees that met or exceeded expectations. Jason, the owner, is very patient and helpful. He was also very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions concerning installing this stove in a manufactured home. During installation of tile on wall and floor, they paid great attention to detail and thoughtfully arranged the tile to ensure an even and aesthetically pleasing distribution of colors\patterns. They also provided much helpful input regarding options, as my wife and I had it far from nailed down when we called them. The tile turned out great, and after a few months of use and the dropping of several large pieces of oak on it, it has held up with no cracks or other issues. They completed custom carpentry work of their own design to trim out all of the tile. It looks good and "fits" the character of the stove and tile perfectly. The installation of the stove and all associated items also went very well. The stove was installed perfectly in regard to location and orientation, it draws perfectly, and after several heavy rains, we have experienced leaks around the chimney. We couldn't be more pleased.

Recent Review: When he 1st came out to install the cabinets he had trimmed the counter tops out in wood which was the first problem we had .I was very adamant when I first sat down with Randy about the fact that I did not want my counter tops trimmed in wood .He did replace the counter tops. We purchased an additonal linen cabinet for $500.00 that is what the bid said and he charged us $600.00 . We moved into our house Dec 8th 2007 and with in a year the finish started to feather where the counter top met the cabinet in both bathrooms .ALso the finish started to come off on the bottom of our island from the floor to about 8inches up and I noticed the finish coming off some of the other cabinets .Randy was called and came out & re-lacquered them and said if we have any more problems to give him a call . well in Dec 2010 we called Randy Again because the same thing was happening in the same spots. Once again he came out . He wanted us to remove the cabinet doors sand them down & he would respray them with lacquer .He also offered to give us the supplies to re- lacquer the other areas our selves .We told him No . He accused me of using abrasive chemicals on them . .I have never used anything other than Murphy's wood oil soap , Vinegar & water or just plain old dish soap & water .Then he said that we had a moisture problem .We have an air exchanger and if any thing it tends to be a bit dry at times. We called him again and he was back out here in May 2011 . We didn't here from him so we called him back in June 2011,he asked if we had received any sealer we told him no and that was the last time we heard from him.Now we don't know which direction to go .I believe he should stand behind his work and thus far I can't say he has done this .New cabinets should hold up for more than 3 yrs.

Recent Review: Remodel was supposed to take 2 weeks. It has been 2 months and is still not done. 24 of those days no one showed up. Several (at least 9) days they worked 2 hours or less. When they said the work was "complete" I was left with a "shell" for a closet (no bar to hang clothes or even a shelf) and a piece of trim that I guess I am supposed to install. (I cannot-I am elderly and disabled, that is why the work was hired out) In the new bathroom, I had no towel holders, toilet paper holder, mirror or shelves. In the basement where they removed the washer and dryer, I was left with a huge open hole in the wall that was not covered. Dryer vent was left open to the outside of house making it a great place for heat to escape and mice to come in. SEVERAL walls were left half painted. Including the hallway, the bedroom and downstairs bathroom where they went into the ceiling to hook up plumbing. When installing the shower, they nailed through the wall and put holes all the way through into the kitchen. Those were mudded but not painted so I now have a brown wall with a row of white mud spots. I am STILL waiting to hear from them about finishing the closet and painting. When they were actively working, I frequently received emails with excuses as to why they could not be here or why the work wasnt being done (truck problems, vacation, no painter available, etc) I am a disabled senior citizen-I cannot do this work by myself and would not recommend them to anyone who needs a reliable honest company.

Recent Review: From the beginning we should have seen the red flags. When he was constructing the deck, he cut the gas line, because he didn't bother to notify the utility companies to flag the lines. Also, that is why he didn't get a construction permit. Never having work like this done, we were totally ignorant about the permit. Upon completion of the deck, it "outwardly" looked fine. So he started work on the bathrooms. The bathroom upstairs that we were having a walk-in shower put in turned out to be a disaster. Again, outwardly, it looked great. But within a few weeks, the adhesive he had used to put the tiles in the shower down were loose and the grout never did dry. Then when he did the work on the downstairs bathroom, installing the jacuzzi tub, his bright idea was to put the tub in a foot off the floor and install stair going up to it. He also moved the toilet and reinstalled it in at an angle. This was not a large bathroom. This bathroom being used by a 75-year old woman with bad knees. We had to hire Dornbusch Construction to come in and fix these problems, which ended up costing us an additional $3,000. We also found out while repairs were being made, that he did not use the proper vapor barrier, etc. that is needed for a shower. Also, the tile on the bathroom floor had the same problem and grout was constantly coming up. When we decided to have a 3 season porch built over the deck, we put out bids for the work. R & E came in at $10,000 over any other bid we had. Needless to say, Dornbusch Const. came in and built the porch. During the construction, they found out that the deck was not properly attached to the house and supports were few and far between. It cost us an additional $4,000 to fix what R & E didn't do correctly in the first place. The two doors we had him install...the inside door cost $300 and the outer storm door $100...he charged $3,000 to do. I didn't find out how much the doors cost until I started to check on line for the cost. He also plowed out our driveway the winter before last when we had so much snow and he broke the outside faucet. We didn't know anything about this until we realized the sump pump was running night and day for 3 days. We had to have a plumbing company come and temporarily fix this until spring when we had the faucet fixed. Meanwhile the water running down the driveway in the middle of winter froze in 2-3 inches at the base of the drive and while we were on vacation, Mr. Loots took it upon himself to "get rid of the ice" by taking his plow and banging it into the driveway, and cracking the pavement. Another thing that happened was when he was tearing the upstairs bathroom up to he used a reciprocating saw to saw through the tub surround and sawed through into an adjoining bedroom wall, destroying a custom paint job and trim. Going back over all this makes me ill, but I want to warn anyone that may be thinking of employing R & E Construction/Rob Loots to think twice. Remember...he IS NOT LICENSED OR BONDED and doesn't know the first thing about construction. By my last accounting, we paid $10,000 to fix the problems and by my reckoning were over charged somewhere around $35,000.
