The entire process, from start to finish, went as expected. The installation was explained in great detail and we were provided with a follow-up radon kit to re-test the radon levels. We were pleased to see that the post radon levels were well below the requirements.

I called Milestone and even though they do not service my area, they were nice enough to give me advice and answer questions pertaining to the radon testing and remediation process. This company has been radon testing for some time and knows its stuff. This was above and beyond since the company knew they would not make any money from this. I would recommend this company to do radon testing if they service your area.

They were extremely thorough. Basically, they tested all there is in our house and found unacceptable levels. The radon remediation system that they installed should have been checked and had not been and they found out the radon level was still to high. The system was guaranteed so they installed another system for free.

Provided a 4 day radon test (48 hour test option too) with electronic testing machines and instant results. They tested 2 separate locations simultaneously. I was impressed. Mitch had a lot of knowledge and answered a lot of questions. He even met with me (the buyer) after meeting with the seller at a different location. I would recommend this company to do your testing for radon in the home buying process due to their knowledge, electronic testing machines, instant results and customer service. They do remediation too if needed but we only used them for testing.

My job requires me to work with all different contractors of the home improvement industry, I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly. Russ belongs in the vary rarely assigned EXCELLENT category. He was kind, clean and professional. His timing was prompt, his pricing more than fair & his knowledge exceeded that of a memorized pamphlet. He went above and beyond and temporarily worked in an unlit area until we could locate a light bulb an hour later. He values his small business and is one of the few companies left that puts more weight on quality over quantity. Should you find yourself in the conundrum of radon in your home, look no further you have found your contractor.

I'm a firm believer in 'safety first', especially when it comes to my family. Phil Ioco, not only eased my mind about the radon system and the benefits to my family, he also worked diligently to ensure the instillation met my husband and I's expectations. He carefully walked us through each aspect of the system, and even followed up after the installation was completed. We are very satisfied and would highly recommend Phil Ioco.

After the installation I started to look more into radon mitigation and became discouraged. Researching immediately made it clear that the system should be fully sealed with a sealed sump pump cover. Tim had re used the previous basic sump cover. I contacted Tim in August shortly after installation to inquire about putting a sealed cover on the sump pump; Tim said that he doesn’t feel it is necessary and tried to talk me out of it but did say he could if it added peace of mind for us. I ordered a digital radon detector and I contacted State Radon Officer Aaron Berndt to inquire about a cover, Aaron said that a cover is needed to seal it tight to make the mitigation system as effective as possible, especially in the winter when the heat is turned on. Aaron also said that without a cover the system would be drawing the air from the house increasing the heating/cooling bills. I left Tim a voicemail asking him to install the cover; Tim did not return that call. After taking measurements for 2 months the levels of radon dropped from just above 4(unsafe level) to a little over 1, below the action level but remember the EPA and WHO state that no level is safe and 1.3 still poses a risk for lung cancer. This week when I called Tim again and explained to him that I would like to have the cover sealed. Tim asked what the levels are and basically laughed, saying I should be calling him to thank him for getting the levels down to the 1 range, although when I originally contacted him he said that he could bring the levels down to around 0. The conversation went back and forth, I explained that the state radon officer recommends the cover, to which Tim replied that he has never heard of a state radon officer and questioned if that is even a real title in the state of Michigan. He then went on to say how the state of Michigan does not regulate Radon contractors; it is between the contractor and the customer, basically saying he doesn’t have to. Tim also stated that sealing is not necessary and this is the how they do radon mitigation now, although all over the USA Radon website and in some of the reviews the sump pump covers are sealed. The work contract also states that they will seal any cracks in the floor/walls since they can be an entry point for radon, which they did not do and proves that a radon mitigation system should be a sealed system. The conversation basically ended with Tim telling me that he installed the system and it is up to me to seal the cover. Tim acted like I was being ridiculous worrying about radon levels in the 1 range and stated that this is the radon level outside. Per the EPA the radon level outside is 0.4 and with a level of 1.3 there is a 2/1,000 chance of getting lung cancer, which is a small chance but still not one worth taking, especially after paying for a radon mitigation system. I decided to look back at USA Radons site, a few notes that I noticed on the USA Radon website are below: -Site states that USA Radon is EPA certified, I cannot find anything online about an EPA radon certification, and the main organizations I found for certification are the NEHA, NRPP and the NRSB. -Site shows license number 6501349350. Note that this is NOT a radon mitigation license, this is a real estate license and it is lapsed (expired 10/31/2018). I wouldn’t have learned about the shortcomings of USA Radon’s mitigation system if I didn’t do research after the system was installed. Tim never suggested re measuring the levels, I learned that through my research, online informational pamphlets recommend using a company that measures the radon levels after installation to ensure their mitigation system is working properly. Another piece of advice online is to never work with a contractor that gives the quote over the phone, since every house requires a radon mitigation system designed for that house. Tim had given the quote over the phone.

House inspection took over three hours. Radon not very long but I was not present. David Richardson seemed quite knowledgeable, and gave me a lot of information regarding proper home maintainence. I have waited so long to post this review because what good is a review if you are reviewing an inspection, and two months after you post it, the roof falls in (literally and figuratively). Well three months in, so far so good. He was very accurate in his evaluation; picked up almost everything. He missed a roof leak, but suspected I may have a problem where it is leaking (very small, maybe it was fixed by the previous owner, but the inside wall was not repaired). Overall, I am very impressed with his skills as an inspector, and an overal rough estimator of repairs (within 10% of all repairs we had to make). I would recommend to a friend.

It went well. Very thorough and in depth. He had no problem with my father and father in law tagging along. This is my first house and wasn't sure what to expect but he took his time and really looked into everything. He also helped me in evaluating a problem a few weeks later that i discovered after purchase of the home while renovating.

Recent Review: Kevin and his assistant Chris performed our home inspection along with the Radon testing. They arrived earlier than scheduled and were already working before my husband and I arrived 1-2 minutes late. Kevin and Chris walked us through every inspection inside and outside of the house. They were very thorough on each item and gave us detailed answers and recommendations on any questions we asked. After the inspection was done, we immediately received our inspection report! The inspection report was very well displayed and documented. I will recommend Home Inspection Professionals to my friends and to anyone. Thank you Kevin and Chris for your excellent work and professionalism!

Recent Review: Chris was very punctual and easy to work with in regards to setting up the initial home inspection appointment. On the day of the inspection he showed up early and he spent over 4.5hrs going over all of the outside and interior details of the home to make sure nothing is overlooked. Chris took his time and he tested and looked at everything. I should mention this is not my first home purchase or home inspection and I was very impressed. I would highly recommend Chris's services to anyone that is looking to have their home inspected by a professional not someone that just comes in does a once over in 1-2 hrs and collects your money. The report was completed promptly the same day and uploaded to a database that evening so I could review and sent it to anyone else that wanted to see the inspection. The radon tests will be available 48hrs later and he was able to provide a good septic drain field inspection by utilizing core samples. Overall this was an outstanding experience with high marks.

Recent Review: Well, we are buying an older home that we know needs work. While I'm a bit handy, I did want some additional information and background. Plus, as the house has a cellar, radon testing was a no brainer. I arrived early at the house at the time of inspection, and Jason Thompson had already arrived. To make a long story short, Jason spent the next 3 hours walking around and through the house. He had a number of findings, and it felt like a thorough walkthrough. As for the radon, Lynda King was on site to collect the radon devices. They both answered my myriad of questions. Do I expect that we found everything wrong with the house? Goodness no. I'm certain that there are numerous small issues that we missed, but I still feel that this was a thorough review and inspection. The reports were received on a Saturday evening, a quick turnaround in my opinion.

Recent Review: Overall it was pretty good. It was very thorough and it was done while I was there and pretty good inspections. The professionalism, I say it from a reporting standpoint, everything was actually on their website and emailed to me, available electronically versus a hardcover typically personalized for you. It was backed up with photos and everything too. He came with a camera out and he uploaded photos.

Recent Review: He was on time, came in with his book, and went through each room very methodically. We sat down, and we went through everything starting with the furnace and going step by step. He advised me to get a new water heater. He was a good teacher, showing me things like how to shut off the water.

Recent Review: Radon Russ was the best! I could not have expected it to go better and turn out better than it did. The competitive price was unmatched by any other company, and the quality was impeccable. The radon mitigation system is completely effective providing extremely low radon levels, and the location and aesthetics of the system itself are better than I could have envisioned. Radon Russ positioned the system to go through the garage and out the attic, without any up-charge! No other company would have done that. Radon Russ was professional, punctual, and an expert at his craft. He even did a little caulking and rewiring! I will definitely recommend Radon R Us to anyone in need of a radon mitigation system.
