The work they did was fantastic. Brian really listens to you when you describe the problem and comes back with an accurate estimate. He also gave me some excellent quotes on other things I need done, such as replacement of a very old side door that no longer conforms to present door sizes. The porch is now beautiful! And my bathroom fan no longer sounds like a jet plane taking off. I intend to hire them for additional work and cannot recommend them highly enough. AND the cost was quite reasonable.

The upright posts on the hand rails leading up the porch steps were rusted out. This created a very unsafe condition. I contacted four companies; two large fence companies and two handymen from Angie's list. Over all recieved three bids. Chose Walter was the lowest bid and the most responsive. Price was important but he didn't skimp on workmanship. He did a nice job.

Teachout Builders were great about communicating with us throughout the process. They were very busy at the end of the summer, so we were told it would be at least a month before they started work. Taylor kept us informed of the probable start date, and various weather delays. He guided us through the process, and was responsive to our questions and concerns. The work was completed, and the porch and door look great! We had gotten a verbal agreement about reusing our old porch railing, if possible, but it had not been written on our work order, and the railing was inadvertently discarded. Taylor has said that he will honor the verbal agreement, and cover the cost of the new railing, if we decide to go ahead with adding it. And he also has given us assurance that he will return in the spring to fix minor discoloration in the porch cement. We feel very comfortable working with this company. Taylor has proven himself and the company to be skilled, professional, courteous, and to honor their word. We would not hesitate to recommend Teachout Builders for any construction projects.

Same day quote, got work done when they said they would, good communication from office. I'd hire them again. They put in a handrail on my front steps for free.

I am very pleased with the results. The carpentry work by Yuji and Seth replacing the corbels/fascia/soffits was outstanding. They are skilled craftsmen (in addition to being very pleasant people) and the work was flawless! Before the existing pieces were rotted and made the place look neglected and now they have transformed it so it looks beautiful. Larry and his crew removed the old dilapidated roof and erected posts for a railing system, and fit the EPDM rubber roofing around them. I think the edges were particularly well done. The installed railings and made them fit and attached them solidly to the house such that I'm confident it will pass City inspection. The roof and railings look as they should and a good job was done, though it became a little protracted due to some delays. Finally, the gutter and downspout was installed and it was expertly done. I am so happy that the installer was able to fashion a downspout in a special custom way that didn't obstruct a passageway as I had thought would be necessary. It looks great and does the job to avoid damage due to leakage in my home as occurred without the gutter. After each step of the project, there was thorough clean-up. Steve Kinne, the sales representative, was amazingly diligent, patiently revising the quotes as necessary along the way when there were changes of plans. Plus, he couldn't be a nicer fellow and made arrangements for the cost to be discounted when it turned out that the corbels were not the rafter tails we had supposed they were, which was much appreciated. The total job came in at a little over $16,000 and I wouldn't have undertaken the project with Elieff if I wasn't absolutely convinced that there would be quality work, which I believed after Elieff did a perfect job on my main roof last year. I am a very satisfied customer and recommend the company highly!

They are really great to work with, punctual, very competent, very kind. They went above and beyond to get the job done beyond our expectations! You can't tell that the stairs and railing are an addition to the existing stairs and railing as they made sure they blended in perfectly.

Rob advised me regarding what storm doors to buy, and he told me that Menard's had the best prices and frequent sales on storm doors during the summer. Sure enough, Larsen storm doors went on sale at Menard's, and I purchased two, one for the front entrance, and one for the side. Rob's advice was excellent. I saved about $75 per door, and I got much nicer doors than I'd anticipated. When it came to the railings, Rob and I made a trip to Menard's together, and he picked out exactly what he'd need to do the job. I paid for the materials, so the $560 quoted above is for labor only. Rob installed both storm doors and repaired the threshold one day, and he installed the railings and fixed the faucets the next day. Because the railing sections were only available in 4-ft sections and we needed 3-ft sections, Rob had to cut and bend the sections to the proper dimensions. He did a fantastic job, and I'm really thrilled with how everything looks and how sturdy the railings are. I've used Rob a couple times before for small jobs, and I'm consistently impressed with his professionalism and attention to detail. I will continue to use Rob without hesitation.

Disappointed for a second time with a small fence installation. The first time it was installed the boards warped in a matter of weeks. They offered to redo the fence and I opted to pay more for a higher quality wood. These things happen, so no worries up to this point. The second install appeared rush, as you can see from the pictures, the top of the boards are not level across, as if no level line was used. The middle support on the back is very slanted. The board on the front with the latch was also installed crooked. Why? All these things I was willing to overlook just to be done with it. But now, a few months later, all the staples they used to install the fence are bleeding down onto the wood and it is quite an eyesore. So it appears the wrong staples were used for the application. A quick google search taught me that for cedar fences, use stainless steel, aluminum or polymer-coated fasteners. Don’t use galvanized steel – the zinc in the fasteners may react with the acids in the cedar and create corrosion streaks. So what now? I guess I have to spend hundreds more and buy the tools and materials to do it again myself next year. Very upsetting...
