the first dishwasher was damaged in transit but in two or three days a new dishwasher was installed.

They came out and helped with a dishwasher. A tenant was complaining that it wasn't working properly. As simple as it sounds, he tested the dishwasher and it was working properly, but he gave the tenant some tips and ultimately saved the owner several hundred dollars by not replacing what was a functional dishwasher!

Marc found the leak to be from the dishwasher resulting in the need to purchase a new one. He also educated us in the use of varying dishwasher detergents, and suggested installing a piece of plywood under the new dishwasher to level the floor. He removed the old dishwasher for us and installed the new one when it arrived. We are grateful for his knowledge and information

Griff arrived promptly and determined that the problem with my dishwasher was a bad touchpad (? - the thing where you press the buttons for the various dishwasher settings) that would need to be replaced. He had to order the part, and on the day he came back he called to let me know he'd be running a few minutes late. I mentioned that the dishwasher also wasn't cleaning dishes very well, so he took apart the bottom of dishwasher and cleaned that out, and he also spent quite a bit of time cleaning the inside of the dishwasher, while offering lots of advice on how to keep the dishwasher running well. I have used Griff in the past and he's always been very prompt, professional, polite, and helpful. He's definitely my go-to person for appliance repairs.

We thought that perhaps something was clogging the pipes leaving the machine. Apparently, a programming module in the dishwasher wasn't working and too expensive to replace. We ended up getting a new dishwasher on our own.

Pete installed a sump pump last spring and I was very satisfied with Pete's work so I reached out to him when I need to replace my broken dishwasher. Pete was very accommodating, took time out of his busy schedule and came over the next Monday to disconnect the old dishwasher. The following Monday, Pete came over to connect the new dishwasher, even on his vacation day. Pete stayed to make sure that the dishwasher ran properly and cleaned up the space. Overall, I am very pleased with Pete's work and professionalism and I will hire him in the future again.

Had to call many times to get order status for dishwasher ( Bosch) that took 10 months to arrive. At one point, it must have been in warehouse but they didn't call us until we repeatedly called back and finally got through to someone who would actually check the order accurately. Following that, the dishwasher broke after about 2 months, they don't service anything so they said call the mfg. We did, have to wait weeks if not a month now ( Aug/sept 2022). They aren't helpful, this was at one time ( 20 years ago) a local small business you wanted to support. Not anymore

He worked on the dishwasher for over two hours. He listened to it, poured water in it, read the manual. He seemed to be guessing the whole time. He did not get the dishwasher to work! I hired someone else. In 1/2 hour the dishwasher was running.

The plumber arrived on time. He had a professional demeanor. I had already removed the old dishwasher and acquired a cable for the power supply. The plumber promptly installed the new dishwasher and it looked well done. Only the dishwasher didn't work. It would turn on but it wouldn't get any water inside. Since I had a contract for service I had someone come out the next day. They pulled the kick plate off and had it working in less than a minute. A tag or label from the electrical junction box was interfering with the water inlet control. The dishwasher now works as expected.

I called Appliance Works of Boston based on the Angie's List reviews and ratings I'd read. Scott had figured, based on our phone conversation, that the dishwasher needed a timer. His initial tests on the dishwasher confirmed it. Scott got on the phone and called his supplier looking for the part. His first supplier didn't have the part. Scott called another supplier and this one found the part. The part came in about a week later. Scott returned with the part and had the dishwasher working properly again within 20 minutes. Scott saved us from having to buy a new dishwasher by finding the part. According to Scott, these old dishwashers can run forever since they aren't full of quick failing electronics. Thanks Scott.

David came out to look at a dishwasher that was not draining. He diagnosed a potential plumbing issue, but also thought that there might be a mechanical issue with the dishwasher. I am going to have an appliance specialist look at the dishwasher next, and then I will have David back to fix the plumbing. He was on time, did not charge me for his short visit, was extremely professional, and was very good with my cats (which I really liked).

Pretty quick fixes on both. Paul replaced some electrical on the viking oven and he replaced the lid locks on the dishwasher. I was happy that he had everything he needed on hand, especially since the dishwasher wasn't on his agenda! Paul gave me some additional information about how to keep my dishwasher running smoothly. He was very knowledgeable about both appliances and was patient to listen and answer all my questions.

HUB Appliance
HUB came recommended from my plumber, who I called when the dishwasher started acting funny. I am so glad he did! Al and his team not only quickly assessed and repaired the issue, but they also helped with some non-dishwasher questions I had, gave a helpful list of good brands to check out for some other projects, and they fixed a poor installation job that was done with our dishwasher. I am so thrilled with their work!

Recent Review: First visit was to diagnose the source of a leak that was causing water damage to a first floor ceiling. Boston Standard's plumbers did a pretty perfunctory inspection, declared that the leak was coming from the dishwasher on the second floor, and presented a bill of $320. They did this without looking at the dishwasher itself or figuring out where specifically the leak originated -- a supply line? a drain line? a broken connection? a cracked tub? The time and effort they put in did not justify the cost. The second visit was weeks later, after a new dishwasher had been installed and the leak restarted. This time the plumber was relatively efficient, figured out the problem, and fixed it on an emergency basis. The cost was in line with the amount of work he did (given that it was a Saturday morning). When I raised questions about the first bill, the owner wouldn't budge, but he was courteous and rational about it. I'm not sure I'd use them again, given the mediocre service and fairly high prices, but I've come across far worse.

Recent Review: Dish washing machine was not working. Appointment was made to repair machine. Technician "repaired" the dishwasher, but one month later it was not working again with the same symptoms. They were called again - worker came out again and said they would have to order some parts. After about a month, I had not hear back from them so I contacted them to see if the parts were in. It took 4 to 5 calls to get an answer. (I asked repeatedly for a call back and NO calls from them.) They came back again, different person this time, and were not able to repair the machine. They again said that it needed more parts. Again, it took 4-5 calls to find out if the part were in. Finally, the part was in and an appointment was made. When they came back, it was the wrong part. So, we made another appointment. They got another part and came back to install the new part, but discovered that one of the earlier parts installed the the wrong one as now the door would not close. So, we scheduled another appointment to come back with the correct part. It's been about 2 months now and I have not yet heard back from them. In the meanwhile, I contacted Yale Electric, they came out within one week, repaired the machine and indicated the the wrong parts were used on the machine and certain clips that were suppose to hold down the hoses were not installed causing the door to stick and not close properly.

Recent Review: I phoned Garett to see if his company might be able to help with a problem I was having with my Bosch washing machine. I left a detailed message, including the model number of the machine. Garett returned my call within the hour to let me know that while his company did service some Bosch machines, this particular one was not in their repertoire. Given that many contractors don't return calls at all, I was impressed that he took the time to call me back even though he knew he would not be able to help. He was pleasant and clearly pays a good deal of attention to customer service. For obvious reasons, I did not work with One Call Appliance, but I would not hesitate to call Garett in the future based on my experience.

Recent Review: The service technician explained the technical aspects in a clear and concise manner. He helped me better understand how these types of side-by-side refrigerators work, and how important it is to upkeep regular maintenance (which the previous owner of the home did not do!)

Recent Review: He is great! Traveled in rush hour traffic over 2 hours to help us since our fridge had been out 2 WEEKS and we were getting the run around from another provider. He rush ordered a part then made us a priority for when it arrived. He was very knowledgeable.

Recent Review: My washer drum was shutting off after 20 seconds, and I couldn't get a load of laundry done. I considered calling Sears, but they couldn't come until a few days. I called "Brookline Village Appliance Repair", and he said if it was important, he could come today. Turns out to be the same company as "Fast Appliance Repair." I found that out later, but they are still local. Turns out a spring had come loose from the drum that keeps it in place, and the unbalanced load was causing the washer to shut off. Hameed fixed the springs, and made sure it was running. Also, he fixed the dryer sensor, which had broken off, and reconnected the loose wires and secured it. While he was there, I asked him to look at my fridge grate that had fallen off. He was able to easily glue the parts in place, and reattach it! I found him very nice, professional and helpful (he showed me how I can buy replacement parts for my old fridge!) I thought the overall price was fair, and he guaranteed the work - if the same thing happens again, he would come and fix it without charge. The only thing is that made me lower the "price" rating is that the coupon on his website was misleading. It said "$15 off", but he said that the coupon is for the second time you use the service, not valid on the first service. Of course, this was not in the details of the coupon, so I felt like it was a bit misleading, and should be updated on the website. Still, I was happy to find him, and happy with the service. Hopefully I won't need any repairs soon, but glad I have someone I could call if I needed to!
