Jamie was great to work with and was able to quickly remediate the radon issues at my house. Todd and Austin who installed the system were courteous, prompt and professional. I would highly recommend this company.

The first phase went well and I was pleased with the workmanship. The radon test still came back at an elevated level and I had contracted with this company to perform phase 2 which involved installing a sub membrane soil gas control system in the crawl space area of my basement. The workman came but told the new home owner (I was selling the house and radon mitigation was required in the sale agreement) that he couldn't do the work that day. There was no further contact from the company and they just walked away from the job and a signed contract to do the work. I did not hear from them and finally called Radon Environmental and spoke with Mike Brinneman who told me that the crawl space was not accessible and had too much debris to do the job. He had no explanation for why there was no effort on his part to contact me about this issue even though I had told him in an earlier email to keep me informed (I was the one paying for the service and my name was on the contract). He said that they could proceed with the job only after I had the crawl space dug out and the debris removed. I then contacted another radon mitigation company and they came and completed the work without incident or need to modify the crawl space area. The radon level is now below the 4pCi/l level and they charged less ($330) than the quoted price from Radon Environmental. Mr. Brinneman faulted me for not informing him of the condition of the crawl space but I was truthful in telling him as much as I knew about it. What seems to be too common with this type of company is that they provide a quote without ever looking at the job. When the workman came up and completed the phase 1 of the job I showed him where the crawl space was and that would have been the obvious opportunity for him to check out the area to see if there were any problems which could have avoided the subsequent missteps.

He spent about an hour going through the house and didn't really find anything except for cosmetics. His report was unprofessional, sloppy, and contained errors. Apparently he uses a canned report program (which is fine), but he checked the wrong boxes so the written report he sent me didn't make sense and had a lot of errors. Furthermore, after less than a week in the house, I found several problems he should have caught. Good thing the new home came with a warranty or he would have cost me a lot of money. 1. One of the bathroom vents was disconnected in the attic which means I had a gaping hole from my attic to the outside. This was found by the insulation people. 2. The water was disconnected to the dishwasher. He turned it on during the inspection but never bother to see if it actually got wet. 3. The front door isn't hung right. It doesn't just leak, it lets snow in the house. I'm getting it replaced under warranty, but it should have been found before closing.

Recent Review: Tracey was professional, friendly, and thorough. He inspected the house--both interior and exterior--from top to bottom. He crawled into the attic and went onto the roof. He was able to tell me which issues were problems that needed to be addressed immediately, which should be fixed at some point in the future, and which might be minor annoyances but were more a function of the age of the property than a true defect. He was happy to have me accompany him as he did the inspection, and he wrote up a thorough report. He found a few red flags (like a potential problem with the chimney) that he strongly recommended I have checked before making an offer. The money I spent on Tracey's inspection was well worth it. I've lived in the house for nine months now, and there have been no "surprises."

Recent Review: It was great. We’ve had flooding every year, but it no longer occurs since they’ve been here. It took around a day to do the work and everyone was great. They did what they said they’d do, cleaned up, and it works.

Recent Review: Very informative, first class business. Reduced our radon levels as they quoted. No bait & switch like a couple of other companies. Came to our home and provided free quote for work to be done. Prompt and courteous! We would certainly recommend! In fact, they are scheduled to mitigate our daughters home this month!

Recent Review: I'm happy with the installation of radon equipment in my basement. Mike, the owner, provided a fair quote and was professional when working with me. Jay, the installer, was patient and courteous when answering my questions. He is very knowledgeable. I received the radon test performed after the installation. The results were better than I expected. I would encourage anyone needing radon mitigation to talk to Radon Environmental Inc. I'm glad I did.
