There was good weather during the 2 weeks the wall was in repair. This was an excellent transaction, the price was a little high but the work comes with a 10 year warranty and the job was done right. We had a wall that fell apart from inferior construction. About 3 bids were obtained, few really wanted to do the work. A couple of people told me the job was too big for them. One guy promised to come out and never showed. Country Landscapes is located near our home and the workers were courteous and helpful (our crew leader for the site was Matt and our designer was Ryan Ayers). These guys kept us informed daily of the progress and brought the right equipment to the job site. I'd be called if there were any concerns and we had horrible working conditions - hot weather, humid and the workers were stung by bees from the nearby woods. The terrain was awkward and sloped, making heavy equipment operation difficult. I highly recommend them and wish them the best with this reference!

John came out to take measurements and give an estimate. Of the three companies I received estimates from, John was the only one who followed up. He also came back to present the estimate, and explain the work that would happen. A few weeks later, the crew showed up and started working. It about 4 1/2 days to do the work. The wall looks great. I just have two issues - 1) John was supposed to email me a couple of items (copies of the estimate, etc) and he never did, and 2) I would have liked a reminder phone call a day or two before the crew showed up, so I wouldn't have been surprised when they got there.

What I liked about them is that they were very prompt in coming out and were very professional. We had a retaining wall that is going to be torn down and replaced and then they were going to take the limestones from the retaining wall they tore down and basically recycle that and use it for steppers and I did like the idea of recycling those. The reason we didn't use them is because they were twice as expensive as the others.

Excellent. The new wall looks fantastic. They were prompt and professional. We got three estimates and Pesek was in the middle. They were recommended by a neighbor so we went with them.

The existing basement walls have paneling which Jamie and his crew were able to match. The door frames were stained and varnished to match the existing door frames. The Sun Tunnel skylight in the windowless bathroom looks so good that it could be an original part of the house. All construction messes were cleaned up with the exception of some sawdust in the garage. The carpenter who built the walls discovered one morning that the sump pump had failed and the floor was flooded. (I had not yet moved in.) They cleaned up the water, removed the damaged carpet and ran dehumidifiers to completely dry the basement before completing the walls. That work plus a new sump pump which they installed accounted for about $1100 of the $5500 total. One of the four doors was installed opening opposite direction from how I requested it, but that seemed too minor an issue to ask for a correction. It won't cause any problems.

First of all, this is a straight wall, that needs a drainage pipe at the base on the adjacent neighbors side of the wall. An area was dug out for that pipe and the wall was to be started on our side of the pipe location. That was not done. Instead, they started building the wall in the area that was dug for the drainage pipe. That pipe was to be placed at the property line, so now, if we lay a pipe it would have to be laid on the neighbors side of the property line. Secondly, the retaining wall, which are usually stepped for both stability and strength, was built straight up. Thirdly, this joke of a wall was as much as 8 degrees off on all plains. Not level, not plumb. And NOTHING used to make the wall solid to any degree. No grout, caulk, fill in between any of the bricks... nothing. The brick, being rough-cut, tends to wobble and rock a bit if not secured. And fourthly, these idiots worked for four days over three weeks for a total of about 8 - hours, yet they have informed the contractor that they worked nearly 25 hours. They showed up whenever they wanted, especially after telling us they would be here at certain days and times. They skipped out on an entire weekend after informing us they would finish the job that weekend. The wall is having to rebuild from start. We have to completely tear down this existing "wall" and move everything 8 inches closer to out home and start over, at LEAST doubling our costs. RCR Masonry is a scamming company that, in my opinion, commit fraud and are out to take advantage of those in need. All of this nonsense has happened to a family that finally found a home after being flooded out of the previous. We have been charged $1800.00 for this crap... and we have to pay another $1000 or so to have it done the right way. I'd love to be able to post video to show this worthless work.

Terrible. Cody was paid in full and then walked off the job and did not complete the project. In spite of several requests he would not return to finish and would not refund money. Totally worthless performance.

Recent Review: The job was completely professional from start to finish. They did an excellent job. It was a full-day job starting with putting down plastic to protect the floors. Then they jackhammered the periphery, laid Waterguard, a system to drain leakage, put rocks over it and cemented the floor back, placed a protective sheet over the walls for further leakage protection, and cleaned up completely. In the process the foreman discovered a breakage in our sewer pipe and also repaired that at no extra cost.

Recent Review: The whole process went very well. After calling Helitech to look at why we kept getting new cracks in the basement walls as well as why 5 doors on the main level didn't close anymore, they sent out an engineer very quickly to assess the problem. He took many measurements and looked around the whole basement (inside and out). He then told us that a corner of our house was actually sinking and explained why he thought that and how that would happen. He went back to his office to develop a plan to fix our problem and came back to our house within a couple weeks to go over his plan. At the time, the work couldn't be done for a couple of months due to a backlog of jobs. (This was the fall of 2007 after we had drought-like conditions, which is not good for your foundation. A lot of people were having problems with their basements.) When they could finally come to do the work, they did it pretty quickly (2 days). They had to dig from the inside (we have an unfinished basement), so they had to make big holes in the basement floor, which they repaired when they were finished. It was difficult to access the area, and they had to feed the equipment lines through a basement window. In doing so, they cracked the glass in one storm window, which they replaced quickly without needing to be asked to do so. I'll note, too, that the piers were put in to stabilize the foundation only. No lifting was done after installation. Overall, they were a very professional, worked quickly and cleaned up very well. (Think of big piles of dirt in your basement. There was no trace after the work was completed.) We've had no trouble with any more doors not closing, and we don't hear all the house-settling noises we were hearing before the work.
