Basically you call ABF and they will come drop a trailer off. You pack your stuff in there and they charge you based on the footage. Then they go and get someone else's stuff then they haul it. So, they are not doing just you, they haul as much as they can. It can be a week before you get your stuff. They literally will take your stuff from point A to point B. It's up to you to get all of your stuff on and off of the trailer. We had really good luck with them when we moved to Canada, they helped us through customs so when we came back we decided not to bother going with someone else. We figured it would be more expensive than to do it ourselves and go with ABF. When we moved to Canada back in 2008 we looked online and ran across them. They were very knowledgeable about the customs stuff and told us exactly what we needed to know. We hired movers to pack up and unpack the truck. The truck blocked 3 driveways so we didn't have much time to unload so we had to hire movers but here it wasn't as big of a deal so we unloaded it ourselves. They have little terminals all over, either in Waterloo or Cedar Rapids and they just came out to pick it up. All you had to do was call and schedule it and the trailer would show up. Sure enough it was ther and you never even saw the driver. Then you call and say it's ready to be picked up and later that day it's gone. The price was pretty much what we were expecting to pay for an international move. I don't think we'd go with anyone else in the future, we've already used them twice.
