My fan stopped working after 8 months. I called asking for a repair and was informed there will be a $199 'Service Fee" to send somebody out. How many of you reading this have heard of a $199 'Service Fee'? Their "warranty" means nothing. They did offer to send me a fan so I could install it myself but let me know that the "warranty" would be void in the future. No way to treat your customers. Find another outfit to install your radon mitigation system!

AMERISPEC HOME INSPECTION SERVICE

The job was done according to EPA standards. I was lucky that a friend who used to be in the radon mitigation business and who had done work for me in another house found David Bigham and recommended him to me. It would behoove a person needing radon testing and/or mitigation to find a person who has received EPA sponsored training and agrees to use those training guidelines to carry out the job.

Healthy Home Inspections LLC

The special infrared detection was great because he could check for mold behind walls without taking down the drywall or making holes. He was very professional and respectful. He was very thorough - it took about 5 hours maybe a little more - and he talked to me through the whole inspection. He had all the necessary certifications and they're available on his website. He was just great - 5 stars!

BUILDING KNOWLEDGE LLC

I love Building Knowledge and working with Jack Semones. I hired Building Knowledge to inspect a home prior to purchase. I ended up deciding not to buy the home, but I am thrilled with how thorough and well documented Jack's inspections are. Building Knowledge engaged separate contractors to provide Radon testing and check for bugs (termite inspection in Georgia is an absolute necessity). They chose their subcontractors well and I am completely satisfied with their results, but Jack's inspection is where they really shined. Jack takes several hours to carefully examine the house from top to bottom, including going into basements, attics, inside cabinets, checking electrical equipment, wiring, appliances, furnace, air conditioning, plumbing, and all fixtures. The only thing they cannot inspect is the roof (their insurance does not permit them to climb onto a roof). For that, I highly recommend a separate roof inspection, as roofs can be the source of many expensive problems. In any case, back to Building Knowledge. Jack carefully documents everything and provides an extremely detailed 40-ish page written report with pictures and written notes on every item. Jack is incredibly knowledgeable and carefully answered all of my questions, always providing suggestions explaining what solutions are available for problems found and what the consequences may look like if the problem is left unaddressed. Though I did not buy the first house Jack inspected for me, I was so happy with his work that I hired him again, and again! In all Jack inspected 3 homes for me before I found one within my budget that didn't have any deal breaking problems. I am thrilled with how thorough and careful his documentation is, and I fully intend to hire him again if I buy another home in the future. Note that the price listed on this review includes 3 inspections: general home inspection 48 hour radon testing pest inspection (including Georgia wood boring organisms letter, AKA the termite letter)

Recent Review: Company representative showed up on time, and was very courteous about space within my home. He was very knowledgeable, took time to answer my questions and give me a little education about how the process worked, things that he was looking for, and why those things were important. Feedback and documentation were returned in a timely manner. I felt so comfortable during the entire inspection. I confidently recommend AT Inspect and will use them again.

Recent Review: We discovered a plumbing leak and the crawl space was flooded. This had obviously been leaking for an unknown period of time due to the plumbing problem. We never had water in the crawl space before. We noticed suspicious mold substance in the rafters and knew we needed to act quickly. We contacted 58 Foundations to evaluate and quote to correct/repair all issues. They inspected and confirmed they could help and that we did have Mold and developed a price quote for the repairs and perform Mold Remediation Services. We signed the contract to move forward asap. They scheduled the work to begin in the next few days. The original contract we signed, detailed the work that needed to be done for a total contract price of $22,011.00. We were notified the afternoon before the work was to begin that they failed to include $4,694.50 in their price breakdown and sent us a revision of $26,564.57. Mold Remediation: We were told a professional crew was to perform the remediation services with proper equipment and protection. Instead, the crew there doing all the other work did it and used no protective clothing, masks, gloves or equipment. They had rags, chemicals and spray bottles. I asked about the Mold crew that was supposed to do this and he said they were not available so his crew did the work. Numerous areas were left undone and when I pointed those areas out, they went back in to treat the areas. Installed a steel stabilizer to replace a wooden support. After installation, the front door had gaps and was sticking and is still sticking. Many other mistakes were made during the work, that I had to bring to their attention to correct/complete. At no time has management shown interest during and after completion of the job and to this date. Upon completion, the tech asked for the check for balance due. We had written it for the balance due of $22,026.022 and he said it was too much that it was only $17,472.65. It took 4 phone conversations with his office to determine the exact balance of the contract Our original contract was $22,011.00 – their revised contract was $26,564.57. At the time of final payment their total was still off by $100.00.

Recent Review: We used Elite for radon testing and it was positive and we put in radon system. We also used them when we purchased a new home to inspect and to test for radon. Radon was in normal range in new home. I don't remember exact prices for each test but was fair as was installation of radon system. Very thorough job and extremely professional.

Recent Review: Pat did an excellent job. He was extremely thorough and took the time to explain everything he found and what I may expect from the home in the future. He did a fabulous job describing maintenance issues I may encounter, which is very helpful to me as a single homeowner. I've used Pat twice now for home inspections and would recommend him highly.
