Chris of Grubb Engineering was top-notch. A large tree had fallen on our house and we needed a structural inspection for the insurance company. Chris spent a lot of time with us pointing out places where our house had suffered structural damage. He took plenty of pictures, went into our crawlspace, and also inspected our roof from within the attic. His written report was thorough and very professionally done. I would hire this company again without hesitation.

I have actually used this company twice since I found them on Angies list. So many structural engineers want to charge you by the hour for the time it takes them to get there & do the report. they won't give an exact price, or estimate how long it will take them etc. Then when they give you the report they act like they have no idea how much it will cost. Chris gave us an exact price for the inspection, completed it within a week. then on one of the occasions had the report to me the same day b/c of our deadline on our inspection timeline, the second time the report came in just 2 days after the inspection. He stayed & explained exactly what was happening, what needed to be corrected immediately, what we could watch for, what type of contractor we needed to hire, and an approximation of what contractors should & would be charging for that type of repair. He was GREAT! And the only structural engineer I will use from now on

Vest Engineering and Vest Construction did a great job. They delivered on time and on budget. Stephan and his crew did an excellent job for us in a major remodel project. They showed up on time and were courteous throughout the Design, Framing and clean up. After each day's work, the area was cleaned up and all materials disposed of after demolition. Having a dual role company provide the engineering and the framing was a double plus. We were able to make changes quickly and confirm the design without having to go through an onerous process. The framing crew even fixed problems from the original contractor not included in the quote because it was "the right thing to do". I would highly recommend this company for any structural engineering and framing work.

Palmer Construction Consultants
I needed a drawing for construction of a retaining wall (required by the city.) Palmer was recommended and used. When construction started, the city engineer noticed the project couldn't continue without Palmer on site. Albert (Bert) Palmer was contacted. He cursed me, blamed me (a CPA who has no idea how to read an engineer's print,) called me an idiot for not knowing how to run a construction project and hung up on me. I called back to ask if they would take themselves off the inspection requirements. He hung up on me again before I could ask the question. When I called again he picked up the phone and threatened to bring my project to a halt if I called him again. The manager of the concrete company called him and worked it out. NEVER, EVER use Palmer. That's the most hot-headed man I have ever encountered in my life.

Recent Review: Jeff's team did a great job. He came out initially to get it started an introduce me to his team. Brandon, the job foreman, Blake and Junior were the core team, and they were joined by specialists over the 5 days of the project. Brandon and Blake did a great job of keeping me updated on progress and managing my wife's & my expectations. I worked at home each day, and they did not seem to mind me popping in unannounced to see what they were doing or to ask questions. Brandon & Blake were always respectful of my opinions and never argued. They would respond honestly to my questions, make recommendations, and always offered to have Jeff come back out and speak with me if needed (it was not needed). they never responded about anything I asked being in the scope of work of the project, which I appreciated. they cleaned up after themselves and I felt very comfortable with them having free access to our house. they only went to areas where they were working and rarely asked for anything. We got 4 different proposals and felt Jeff's was the most comprehensive and the best price. His company came recommended by the structural engineer we hired, and we were very pleased with the work and felt we got a fair price.
