We called Kelley for ideas to modernize a few rooms with special interest in wallpaper for our stairway to coordinate with a "southwestern" theme. Kelley came prepared with books and color charts. During her first visit Kelley apparently took in the interior of our house and quickly offered idea, i.e. to minimize artwork with the space available and not changing where change was not needed (as we thought). Second visit armed with wallpaper books--she made it clear to us that painting was the way to go--wallpaper/pattern was to busy for our stairway runner. Short visits...good ideas. What impressed me most about Kelley, she did not come in with a grand scheme of changing our entire house with expense furniture, which was an issue with a previous interior decorator. I was mostly impressed that Kelley didn't charge us for casual conversation; only for professional services. Great personality.

It went very well. It makes a difference that Kurt was able to explain what needed to be done in plain language and was not condescending to me about it. He did not get annoyed by all my questions or requests to do things differently when it made big difference to me. He was patient and explained everything. And prompt. I have a running list of other things I now want to get done! It's good to know someone can do this stuff. I will actually try to finish other projects now that I have been putting off!

Recent Review: Arcbazar offers a very unique service. I was looking for some interior design ideas for a new home. There are many interior designer's that offer consultation services. They provide color options, ideas for furniture etc. Whats cool about arcbazar, however, is that it works based on a competition that you create on their website. Instead of getting one designer providing you one concept, you get multiple submissions from different interior designers. I created a competition to provide interior design ideas for my family room/kitchen area. I ended up getting 13 different design ideas. What I was impressed with was the quality of some of the submissions. Many of the designers submitted full color 3 dimensional layouts that made it a lot easier to visualize the design. They also provided a list of furniture, paint and accessory options. Overall I was very pleased with the results. Just be aware that you have to be reasonable about your award amount. You cant enter something like $50 and ask for a full interior design of your whole house. When creating your competition the website will give you a suggested award amount. This suggested award is based on the square feet of the area you wish to design. My only gripe with the service was their website. It's a bit rough around the edges and at times their site was very slow. Sometimes it could be frustrating to use. The only reason I didnt give the service all A's.
