Meriden Makeovers LLC
This contractor was awesome! My floors look great. Price point was perfect. He installed timely and cleaned everything up after. I would definitely hire again.

Installers left product stickers all over (that is how I found out about the poor quality of the laminate) and forgot to hook my washer back so that I was without a washer for a few days until they had someone available to hook back up. The biggest issue is I was shown a different, thicker laminate by the salesman than what was placed on my floors. I was told I was getting American Dream (Shaw Manufacturers). When I questioned the installers, I was told don't worry, once they link together it will be thicker. Unfortunately, they finished in the evening when it was dark and I didn't see the plastic like quality of the laminate until the next day. I was told by the installers I had to complete the evaluation immediately. I e-mailed a complaint, spoke with a consumer representative from the North Haven office who was not helpful at all. Now, that I am aware of this practice, I am reading similar complaints on the internet from other dissatisfied customers. I was taken by this company. I contacted Better Business Bureau and I still am not satisfied. It seems that if I want this resolved I will have to pay for arbitration. Empire Today has stated they will upgrade the flooring for a fee, yet they only have one type of laminate flooring. BBB never comments so I am not sure of the role they play in this. This has been a very frustrating experience. Please do not allow this to happen to anyone else.

I did not use them. We had bought the laminate flooring. His bid was somewhere in the middle monetarily so it wasn't money. The first thing he said when he came in was that he didn't think we had bought enough stuff. As it turns out we are returning 10 boxes. There is something called quarter round that finishes up on the sides instead of baseboard. I wanted quarter round and he said he didn't know if he could get anything to match it. There was a kind of negativity. Nothing seemed right for him. I didn't give up on him. I spoke to 2 other people. I wanted some further information from him and I called on a Saturday and got the answering machine and left a message to call me back in a day or two. He called me back on either a Wednesday or Thursday night at 9.30 to say that he had just got my message. By that time I had chosen the other company. I wasn't impressed but I can't say anything about their work. He showed up at the time he said he would.

It went fairly well , the laminate flooring ,workers were nice.,BUT Neatness is NOT one of their strong points. Collin At The store was Very accommodating and helpful.I thought that they did not use the products that were paid for in advance , wisely,as a lot of product opened so as not returnable ,that was left unused & unneeded and could have saved $ on the project. .Also .Seemed to be a lack of supervision/over site on what the workers were doing,a few things they did seemed hokey,as not having the proper tools/stuff/for the job so cut corners. The carpet people were good. .Overall The floors came out good, but time will tell. Would == Rehire ==maybe yes/maybe no..

They took up carpeting in the family room, dining room and in a spare bedroom. They helped us move the furniture around. The workers were very courteous and they cleaned up any mess they made. They are very professional and honest. They have done other people in my family and it went well for them as well.

Please note: On 8/29/2013, I have changed the rating from an F to a B. After speaking to the store manager, who DID NOT try to pass the buck and who accepted responsibility, the issues have been resolved to my satisfaction. It says a lot that they were willing to go the extra mile in the end to make things right!!! ================================================================================================ First... the only reason this place doesn’t get straight F’s is because of one good deed (discussed later on. Aside from that, avoid these people like the plague. They are worse than politicians when it comes to telling you what you want to hear. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE TO DO ANY FORM OF INSTALLS... especially flooring!!!!! On or about 7/27/2013: My wife and I are soon closing on a new house in Enfield, CT. We go to Home Depot for flooring. We had a great sales experience. The sales person appears to know what he was talking about and everything was pretty simple. We picked a Laminate that we were told was and quot;in stockand quot; and that we could get delivered quickly. We also confirmed that they will delivery to the upstairs (where it is being installed) as I have had recent knee and ankle surgery and would not be able to carry it. We were also told that there would be no problem having it installed by 8/21/2013. But that's when it started to go down hill and now, I see that what their contractors say is true: This Home Depot in Enfield, CT will tell you anything you want to hear just to get your money. 8/1/2013: Someone comes out to measure for the flooring on time and goes very smooth. 8/3/2013: We pay about $4K for our flooring and installation so they can start setting things up. 8/5/2013: Get a call from Home Depot. The Laminate is not in stock. We have to wait. But, they still assure us that 8/21/2013 is do-able. 8/10/2013: Still waiting to hear about the laminate. Go into the store and talk to customer service to find out that it had been in the store for a couple days an no one bothered to call. So, we had to wait another week for delivery. But, per Customer Service, still installed by 8/21/2013. 8/17/2013: I was supposed to get a call in the morning to find out the delivery window. Nothing... Call Home Depot and they say were are in the 11AM to 1PM slot. OK. Delivery contractor comes about just before 1. Says they only deliver to the 1st room in the house. Also says that he completely believes that we were told by Home Depot that he would delivery to upstairs because they will say anything. So after calling and speaking to a manager, someone else is sent to bring it upstairs. It's just too bad I had to call to complain to get what I was initially promised. It also isn't fair for Home Depot to put their sub-contractors in such a bad position. I'm sure others would have gotten upset with the delivery-person instead of the real culprit. Later, call Home Depot again to get the number for the installation folks. I call and elave them a message so that we can confirm an install time on 8/21/2013. 8/19/2013: I speak to the installers. They are fully booked until the end of August and the earliest they can install is 9/3/2013. Doesn't do much good since furniture is being delivered on 8/22/2013 and everything else is moving in on 8/24/2013. After several conversations with the Enfield Home Depot, alas, still no install until 9/3/2013. I cannot believe that a company like this only has 1 laminate flooring sub-contractor for installations. That is ridiculous. But of course, they don't care. They have my money. So in their mind, they don't have to follow through on their promises. And that is why I say that, if you need something installed, stay away from Enfield Home Depot like the plague!!!!!

Recent Review: They did the electric, drywall, painted and tiled the floor. They also built us a bar and closet. The overall experience was excellent. They did a fabulous job. They were in constant communication with us and the quality of their work is impressive.

Recent Review: I cannot believe the reviews some have left about this place. I am really shocked because I just did my entire house with them and it was a smooth sail. I met with Edina she helped my husband and I choose which floors to do. We walked in completely confused and she helped us figure out what we wanted in each room. She spent so much helping us match and decor. She continuously stayed in communication with us. As soon as my floors arrived at the store someone called us to schedule us in. The men arrived on top and they DID NOT STOP ALL DAY. They were so polite and worked so hard. I even tipped them at the end. They cleaned up as if no one was even in my house that day! I HIGHLY recommend this company to everyone I know.

Recent Review: Very professional and reliable, I highly recommend rx flooring for your next project,

Recent Review: We called Jarrin and Brother's when we needed some floor repairs and refinishing. They were able to do the job within two days of our call. They repaired a floor that had been heavily damaged from water many years ago and had been poorly repaired. Jarrin brothers replaced the old flooring and repaired it properly. After they were finished it looked like a new floor. They then sanded and refinished most of the rest of the floor in our house and replaced door mouldings that had been damaged by our cats. They were professional and very accommodating to our time constraints and schedule. We would definitely use them again.

Recent Review: Ultimately, Kleen Floors did not do the work on my floor but I felt compelled to write a review as the experience was educational and Andy refunded my money, in full, despite having put in a fair amount of time and effort. Andy and Kleen Floors came in after another flooring company had installed a floating hardwood floor without doing the proper leveling. This other flooring company was kicked out and I sought out a new flooring company to pull up the existing flooring, level the subfloor and reinstall the same engineered hardwood. Upon pulling up the flooring, Andy recognized immediately that the leveling required would be extensive and brought in a specialist that he had worked with. That specialist also said thate the leveling was too extensive and suggested bringing in a mason. The mason came in and did a preliminary pass at leveling. At that point, Andy came back and was uncomfortable using the existing flooring to do the job and still felt that the leveling was not sufficient to get us the quality floor we were looking for. While we parted ways with Andy at that point, his guidance and expertise were ultimately accurate. We eventually worked with our general contractor to purchase new flooring material and do additional leveling (all done by one vendor). While Andy was not that vendor (as he and his team were not interested in taking on the extensive leveling), I appreciated his responsiveness and forthrightness throughout the process. As you can imagine, the whole experience was trying for me and for Andy, but he refunded our money in whole and I would recommend his team for friends going down the path of a new flooring installation.

Recent Review: We chose Paul Secondino to install hardwood floors in our new house in Milford and he did an amazing job.Paul has a lot of experience and he's very meticulous; on top of that he clearly loves his business and takes a lot of pride in the quality of his work (rightfully so).In the beginning we liked that he produced a detailed yet simple quote; during the installation he spent time to check our personal preference about many details, explaining the different ways certain things could be done and offering his suggestions on what he thought could work best, but without being pushy (even when certain choices were more time consuming). He handled small and inevitable unforseen issues (such as replacing a small section of subfloor) without delays, which really helped with our upcoming move.Paul's prices are also very reasonable, especially when you consider you're getting a top-quality installation.Overall we couldn't be happier and we would definitely hire him again!
