Update: After my review (below), Mike, new GM at Tuff Shed called - very apologetic for problems I encountered during a transition, and we discussed how he could make it right. Because I didn?t notice everything at once and had problems with another company trying to correct issues, I had not given TS a chance to resolve issues which wasn?t fair to them. Mike was very sincere about high quality product & customer service. We came up with a resolution & he promptly scheduled someone for next business day even though they were very busy. Arturo gave courtesy call, arrived as scheduled, and we discussed. He was professional & polite and did good work. TS really made the effort to take care of everything so I am now a satisfied customer and will use TS next year when I get a large shed. Original: Mixed on Tuff Shed. Phone contacts friendly & helpful (Texas & local office, Home Depot outside rep). Order person at Home Dep was friendly but not knowledgeable so had to call outside rep to walk through. TS called to confirm order & to schedule, and was to email confirmation & info (didn?t). I scheduled a month out & requested afternoon appt since would have last minute to do morning of. I called week before to confirm afternoon & request info not sent, and day before to confirm afternoon. Was stunned when they arrived 4 hours early at 8:30am since I was not ready. I asked why morning without notifying me and why no on-their-way phone call promised so at least a little heads up. Decided to make the best so scrambled to get ready. I asked about base ? per Home Depot?s suggestion I had leveled dirt & laid 2 inches gravel for drainage since this was a lean-to. I wanted shed close to house since only a narrow path, and porch since would encroach a window. I asked if I should rake some gravel away from house & porch since would get pushed back when shed was moved in place. They said don?t worry, they?d take care of it. When done, shed was 9 inches from house & porch so heavily encroached path & window which I said wasn?t acceptable. They got it closer (would have been closer if I?d moved gravel as I?d suggested). They put blocks under 3 corners to level (pushing had unleveled some areas). Shed was 10 inches above ground ? 2 from gravel, 2 from blocks, and 6 from shed?s metal base. I asked how shed would settle since on blocks (HD said shed would immediately settle 1-2 inches in gravel, more with time). They shrugged it off so I?ll have to add steps ? inconvenient when bringing large items in/out. I did a quick inspection and had them trim a shim with sharp edges sticking out, hammer some large roof staples sticking up (wasn?t until I was on a ladder later I saw how poorly the metal had been attached to the shed roof ? cut too short, 2nd piece added crookedly and large staples missed metal, barely in, or 3 on top of each other). The shed was pre-cut at factory - some support studs are too short (can slide little finger in gaps), some had cracks, and several nails missed studs. Third of inch gap along roof line which I caulked to minimize rain/black widow spiders, etc. coming in. I supplied Behr paint to match house ? walls were reasonable but trim was sloppy ? areas too thin or missed entirely so I re-painted. The 2 guys worked quickly & efficiently and only took a couple hours since it was a small shed. Although I believe this will be a long-lasting shed, not quite the quality I expected from TS?s high reputation.
