Chuck's Door Service
There was water damage in the front-porch ceiling of my mother's house. Over the years, the porch had developed a leak in a couple of places, but since the porch was an open area with a rock floor, we were not in any hurry to repair it because it wasn't really doing any damage to the house itself. But, eventually, we had to replace the roof on the house and decided to repair the ceiling on the porch shortly after that. We hired Chuck to remove the entire ceiling of the porch so the area would be ready for the carpenters who were going to replace the ceiling and install a ceiling fan. Chuck arrived at 8:30 sharp to start work. He removed all the old wood and insulation, stacked all the trash on his trailer, and hauled away all the debris. It was a very labor-intensive, dirty, and HOT job. He worked very hard and completed the entire project by noon. He left the area very clean without even a stray nail on the porch or in the front yard. It was a job well done and we appreciate his hard work.

We found a railing design online and sent the pictures to Logan. He came to our house more than once as the demolition of the existing brickwork was being done to take measurements for the layout of the railing. Told him the color we wanted it and he fabricated it all in one piece, finished it beautifully, and delivered it this afternoon. Set it up on the porch and bolted it to concrete. Very heavy and sturdy. Very beautiful. Logan Prater is as nice, polite, and talented an individual as you could ever want to meet. Truly was a pleasure working with him and our porch looks so much better.

First they wanted to charge $40 for an estimate (we got THREE other estimates and nobody charged anything). They asked to reschedule the estimate and then asked to reschedule again 15 minutes before the rescheduled time. I give them a "D" because they at least contacted. But charging for estimates, then not keeping appointments? ...Moving on and will never call them again.

Recent Review: After seeing their product at the Minneapolis Home & Garden show we were convinced that this was the right product for our porch improvement work. The guys from EZ-Screen brought samples to our home to help us select frame color and installation method. They took careful measurements of all of the window and door openings and put our order in motion. A few weeks later our windows and door were delivered. We did this work at the same time we had some exterior siding work done by another contractor. We arranged to have that contractor do the actual installation of the EZ-Screen product. The rep from EZ-Screen came out to our site when the installation started to ensure that our contractor understood how to properly install the windows and door. Everything went smoothly and contractor commented on how easy the windows went in. After three full seasons of use we still enjoy the product and we're pleased that we chose this as part of our porch renovation. It has added several additional months to our porch usage in our short Minnesota summer seasons. I highly recommend this product for any new screen porch or porch renovation job!
