JQC helped me to find a new layout for my kitchen that would make my entire home look larger. When I explained my budget, they helped me find a quality brand that was having a special sale. They took out my old cabinets and hauled them away. The new cabinets were so AMAZING with all of the bells and whistles. Not long ago, I sold my home and the first person to look at it purchased it, she said the kitchen sold her!

The estimate was very high! The guy that did the estimate (one of the owners - forget his name) evidently didn't hear a word we said, nor did he refer to the written material we gave him. No appliances were included in the estimate and it was already way too high! And just getting the estimate was like pulling teeth! After he showed up to collect info needed for the estimates, it took weeks and many phone calls to get the estimate from him, as well as a couple of visits to the office. UGH! We didn't use Kitchen Connection for these reasons. Boo! Hiss!

Phase one demolition and construction was completed on time, and just slightly over budget due to our additional work requests or changes to architect plans. The garage and living space approximately 625 sq ft, then became our home during a majority of phase two. Phase two demolition and remodeling was completed in about 10 months, and over budget due to whole house termite infestation which destroyed 60% of the homes framing and foundation. We did have a termite bond from a great company, that paid for the overages due to the termite damages. The contractor provided daily briefings for us regarding progress and expected work items. His crews were always courteous and respectful. They maintained a clean work area, and took special precautions removing the old siding which may have contained lead paint, creating hazmat area and clean up station. Contractor is licensed for lead removal, always an issue with older or historic homes. Contractor was flexible and accommodating when we made work order changes, or asked for changes to existing work. Very pleased with our old new home. Completed in phase two, kitchen upgrade, master suite and bathroom, laundry room, sunroom and bathroom upgrade. Increased over all square footage by 500 sq ft

Jansen Quality Construction

Our project manager was Chad Smith. He was attentive and sensitive to our needs as homeowners who must live in the home while it is being remodeled. He seems to run a tight ship with regard to scheduling, and made sure that there was very little, if any, down-time once the project began. He visited often to check on the workmanship, and is very knowledgeable about how things should be done and how they should look. All the demolition, repairs and restructuring were expertly done by skilled employees who know what they are doing and do it well. One of the many benefits of having a remodel done by Jansen's is that they order the cabinets from a superior cabinet maker, Starmark Cabinetry in our case, and the quality of the cabinets will not disappoint. It takes approximately 6 weeks for the cabinets to be custom made and shipped from Starmark's factory in South Dakota. Jansen does not schedule the project to begin until the cabinets have arrived and are stored in their warehouse. We chose maple cabinetry in a Villa Ivory finish that is beautiful and appears to be quite durable. We opted for tile that looks exactly like dark wood flooring, and chose a tile backsplash that brings together the colors of the cabinetry, the granite countertops, the flooring and the stainless steel appliances. Our new kitchen includes a chimney type stainless stove hood that is vented through the attic and out the roof. All the walls in the foyer, living room and kitchen were painted by one of Jansen's professional painters with colors that we chose. Our project took about 4 weeks. We understand that many kitchen projects, depending on size, take longer. If you must live in your home during a remodeling project, be prepared for a lot of dust. This is especially true when tile has to be removed. Jansen's makes every effort to confine and remove the dust as quickly as possible, but it will penetrate through the HVAC system no matter how many plastic sheet barriers are erected. Your normal life WILL be disrupted during the project and there is no way to get out of that. Chad Smith, our project manager, showed great understanding of the homeowner's dilemma and made sure that all employees clean up the area before leaving each day. The employees of Jansen's Quality Construction create quality in everything that they do. You will not get a cut-rate price, nor will you get a cut-rate job. What you will receive is a lot of focus on detail and on making sure that you are pleased with your remodel. We are thrilled with the final result, and are now able to enjoy a new, beautiful, and user-friendly kitchen.
