Andy and his team were great to work with every step of the way. Professional, thorough and very accommodating when I requested a couple of modifications from the original design. Andy was very good about keeping me updated on progress before the work started and made sure I was completely satisfied, regularly checking in during construction. Couldn't be more pleased with the end result. Great company to work with.

Archadeck of Columbus

Aaron came to our home and throughly went over the benefits of composite decking. Then we discussed the overall look we wanted to achieve. Looking through a variety of pictures of their completed job sites, we selected the railings and colors that would work. Rich was our installer and we appreciated his eye for detail and perfectionism. Phil was the project manager and kept us informed of progress. The new decks are a great improvement to our outside living area. We have already recommended Archadeck to our neighbors and friends.

John came out to survey the proposed project. He was very nice and we talked about at length about their work with wood stains. I told him I wanted to use TWP 100 for the stain. He later called back that day to tell me that, according to the manufacturer directions, new decks would have to wait one year before staining with TWP 100. However, I looked it up and TWP says 4-12 months before staining. Of course how long you wait depends on the climate. Since we live in Florida and the deck is out in direct sunlight after four months the deck was showing signs of drying. For example, popping nails, cracks in the wood, signs of cupping, graying of the wood, and etc. We had other companies and the contractor who built our deck come out and tell us to stain this deck ASAP. So, I contacted John to tell him about TWP 4-12 months readiness for staining and that we will select his company for the job. He agreed. The next day I received an email from Aaron containing a proposal that included price and materials. We asked what warranty was there and he replied that there was none since TWP says to wait 4-12 months before staining new decks and that my deck does not fall within that safety area so therefore my deck does not qualify for a warranty. We also asked for a contract and he replied that we don't need one. The signed proposal is enough. Where we needed to sign it explicitly states that we approve the terms, specification, and price. We authorize you to draw up all necessary contract documents so work can begin. I replied with that we have been burned in the past for not having a binding contract written and would respectfully request one containing a stated warranty, assurances of quality, itemized list of costs for materials and labor, step by step application process of the stain, start date for the project and approximate ending date, and assurances of payment to subcontractors if used all to be stated on a binding contract. Aaron replied that they don't think its necessary to write up contracts for jobs less than $10,000. His last email to me stated that it is clearly too early to stain my deck so a warranty cannot be given and they had canceled my order and declined the job. Aaron's earlier excuse for no warranty was that TWP says wait 4-12 months to stain a deck with TWP. Then says my over 4 month old deck is not ready to be stained? He also never saw the deck himself. Was it the warranty excuse or the written contract request he had a problem with? Pretty shady to me.

Our experience with Paul could not have been better. He knows his business, is very personable, reliable, prompt, and does EXCELLENT work. We had a challenging permitting situation with the County and Paul was with us every step of the way - he even went with us to the variance hearing in case he was needed to testify on our behalf with the County. Paul also stepped in to save our daughter when an uninformed neighbor challenged her about the project. Turns out the neighbor will probably become Paul's customer too! Paul is like a member of the family and we would HIGHLY recommend him.

We had problems with our composite wood deck. It sagged in one area and had pulled up in another. Craig arrived promptly as scheduled and performed the work quickly and professionally. The price was very reasonable. I would use his services again and I recommend him highly.

Handyman the Fix-it LLC
5.0
I called three contractors for a bid. Walfredo was the only one who responded. He was able to come out the next morning and look at the job I needed done. He answered all my questions and was very professional. I received the estimate the same day later in the evening. I was impressed at the responsiveness. While his pricing was very competitive (not much mark up on materials) and labor pricing was fair, the entire job was outside of my budgeted spend right now. I will call Walfredo again when I need another handyman job completed. Thanks for great customer service and responsiveness!

SCRUBBING BUBBLES
5.0
We had used Scrubbing Bubbles in the past for roof cleaning as well as other work and had been very satisfied. Again this time, we were impressed with the excellent job that the owner, Jim, does. He always goes the extra mile and does superior work. He is very knowledgeable about what products and techniques to use on different surfaces. Our pavers were extremely dirty and now look new again, as does the wood deck. We would have rated him an A+ if that were an option. We highly recommend him. Rest assured that you will not be disappointed with his work.

DEAN BILLE

I contacted Dean thru Angie's List and received a call from him the same day. We scheduled a meeting to discuss repairing an old deck and building a retaining wall where my yard is eroding. Dean was prompt, courteous and professional. He had great ideas. He also quoted a very reasonable price. I did not use him because of issues with my HOA, not Dean. I would highly recommend having him out to look at your project.

On It Construction Co., Inc
1.0
We contracted w/ On It Construction Co, Inc about 5 years ago for repairs on our house/porch/deck. I have all the invoices filed away--I believe we paid about $20,000 for the work--I would have to check our files for the exact amount. There were a series of events which started w/ a worker falling through our kitchen ceiling--worker was not injured, but I had multiple leaks in my kitchen ceiling for months before it was repaired--Jim went through some personal problems--and they had legal problems (fined by state and shut down for a period of time). We tried to be very understanding of all the delays and excuses for not completing the work. There were many different sub-contractors--rarely were they on time--and there were many, many delays. Weeks would go by w/o any work being completed. Rarely the same workers for any length of time. One part of the repair caused a leak on our lanai (one of many problems caused by the workers) which lead to multiple attempts to repair it--very poor workmanship when attempts were made to fix the leak. Jim did tell me he would resolve all the issues and that we had a one year warranty on his work. I was not satisfied w/ their work, but was willing to just end the nightmare as long as the leak was repaired on the lanai (it never was). At one point, we discussed that we wouldn't know for sure (until rainy season) whether or not the leak was fixed. When rainy season arrived, and the lanai continued to leak, we were then informed that the lanai was not covered under the "warranty" (even though they caused the leak). Additionally, they replaced two front facing windows. All the window trim in our house is brown. They ordered and installed windows with white trim (for a dark brown house). Needless to say when I arrived home from work that day, I was shocked and couldn't believe that they installed the wrong color windows. I was told by Jim that they would paint the outside trim and it would be fine--they left the inside trim white--okay since the walls in the loft are light colored. I asked what will happen over time and was assured that the outside trim will be stained permanent. It wasn't--they should have replaced the windows with the correct color. It looks bad--the color is fading--doesn't match the other windows in the house--I will have to have the windows replaced at some point with the correct color. Also, they rebuilt our 2nd story wood deck. Jim told me that they would use marine grade, pressure treated wood so it would last for many, many years. It's rotting already and I've had additional work done to replace some of their warped/rotten wood. The original deck was about 20 years old, but lasted very well. I was expecting the replaced wood to hold up as well. Another disappointment. I have emails and bills from the company over a two year period where you can see many of the problems and delays that we endured. I am still very hurt and disappointed in the quality of their workmanship and that they did not stand by their work. We were more than understanding throughout the entire ordeal--we gave Jim chance after chance to do the right thing. We really should have contacted a lawyer. I truely believed that Jim Norris was a man of his word--what a sad disappointment--I'm still very disappointed with the poor workmanship. The house was in better condition before they started the repairs, than when they were finished. Jim was rarely here, and his workers were unreliable and unskilled. A professional contractor should oversee the work and make sure that his employees are skilled and are doing a good job. Do not use this company unless they have completely changed their work ethics and are using skilled workers.

Disappointing. I signed the contract on 5/28/19 and was told the work would start the following week, but work didn’t begin until 6/23/19 and completed on 7/10/19. Owner blamed it on rain but the worker said they were doing other jobs. Once the work began, one worker showed up at 11 am and left at 1 pm some days no one showed up. This went on for a couple of days and then he found someone to work with him. They seldom began work before 11 am and left early. The owner assured me at the contract signing that he had seven gentlemen working for him and would stay on the job until it was finished. One worker and sometimes two, would show up and work a couple of hours most days. Worker said he didn’t know what was in the contract and when I showed him what was agreed upon, he called the owner who then was argumentative and said he didn’t work for free and that unless it was in writing, he wasn’t going to do it without additional cost. He didn’t include everything in the contract that I asked to be included in the scope of work, but I thought they were small details and not necessary to put in writing. My fault for not insisting everything was in writing, down to the products used. The worker argued about how expensive the crack filler was and insisted he didn’t need to fill the cracks all the way. I told him i was paying for it and would like it done. The cracks were so deep I stuck sticks in it to show him. He filled the cracks the next day. He was belligerent and even when I’d ask what he was going to do that day, he would tell me to leave him alone he knew what he was doing. Owner told me they were using self leveling concrete, but when I asked the worker if that was what he was using, he called the boss and was told that that would be an extra $850 because it was not in the contract. At the final inspection I pointed out what looked like collapsed bubbles in the finish and blank spots where the faux finish wasn’t completed, as well as areas where it looked like paint was just dropped on. This was on the upper deck. Owner said it was natural for the product they used. The same product was used on the lower deck and no bubbles were on that surface. There are dark brown paint spatters on the deck where a border was painted. After another argument, I told him to just finish, move the patio furniture back in and leave. He said the contract said they would move the furniture out, but not back in. The contract said they would pressure wash the screened in enclosure, but when I pointed out the mold on the outside of the screen, he said they only do the inside screen, not the outside. The job wasn’t finished until 7/10/19. The owner and worker were disrespectful and frequently argued over the scope of work. They made no effort to keep grit out of the pool which resulted in the pool cleaner replacement of bearings and wheels. My pool brush head was broken when they used it to fish out something they knocked in the pool. The sprayer on my hose was crusted with their concrete and I had to throw it away. Small things, but on the whole added up to a lack of care and quality of the job. Even though he asked what he could do to make it better, it was too late at this stage of the job and I just wanted him off my property and didn’t ask for anything more. For the amount of money I paid, $12,500.00, I expected a better quality of product and service. Owner said he had a good rating with Angie’s list and the Better Business Bureau. I couldn’t find his business on this site and there was a complaint similar to mine on the BBB site.

RAY CAME OUT AND HELPED US DESIGN A NEW DECK FOR OUR BACKYARD. WE HAVE A SMALL LOT IN SOUTH TAMPA SO WE WOULD NOT CONSIDER THIS A BIG JOB. THEY DID A GREAT JOB OF DESIGNING BENDS IN THE DECK, BENCHES, PLANT STANDS, REALLY NEAT IDEAS. WE CHOSE THEM BECAUSE WE WANTED A DECK OF TREX MATERIAL BECAUSE OF THE POSITIVE REVIEWS IT HAS RECEIVED AND BECAUSE WE WERE SO TIRED OF STAINING OUR DECK EVERY YEAR AND DEALING WITH WOOD ISSUES. MADE OUR DECK 2.5X AS BIG AND REALLY GAVE IT CHARACTER WITH RAY'S IDEAS. INSTALLATION WAS GREAT, GUYS WORKED HARD IN REMOVING THE OLD DECK AND INSTALLING THE NEW ONE. ONLY ONE ISSUE WAS THAT THERE WAS A MISCOMMUNICATION AND SHOWED UP 1 WEEK EARLIER THAN EXPECTED! WE WERE NOT GOING TO PASS UP GETTING THINGS DONE EARLIER OF COURSE. WE REALLY LOVE THE NEW DECK AND THE CHARACTER IT BRINGS TO OUR BACK YARD. OVERALL, GREAT EXPERIENCE.

After a couple of glitches on the phone trying to set up the work, George arranged the appointment, To meet our need to have the job done quickly to accommodate a garden party we had coming up soon, he pulled an employee that is regularly a painter. The employee, whose name escapes me at the moment, did a very professional job. He spent extra time where necessary and took time to show me a couple of areas where our walls had a bleached effect before they were washed. He asked us to go over the work and point out any problem areas (very few), which he immediately corrected. He spent extra time on our old wood deck that is in need of replacement getting it as clean as possible. We now think we may have another year or two before we have to make the planned replacement. Overall, excellent work and a very fair price. When our house need repainting in the very near future, I will strongly consider this company.

Recent Review: Our 1st exp. was negative as they failed to show for the appointment; however, we gave them a 2nd chance & our experience was wonderful! They called before arriving a few minutes later than scheduled, gave a competitive bid on the work, came out & cleaned the deck as agreed upon, then did an excellent job in painting the deck. Their work was outstanding, we were satisfied with the price, and they finished the work in the time frame that we required. We are extremely pleased with the finished work!

Recent Review: They were more than prompt they actually showed up early on the day of the pour. When they did the framing they were also prompt and efficient cleaning up after they were done. We are going to have them fix our drive way, and one of our neighbors was so impressed he is going to hire him as well. Great service and great price compared to some of the other estimates I received.

Recent Review: Paul helped me come up with a unique, one-of-a-kind deck that captured my vision almost to a tee. If you have something totally custom in mind, and need help ironing out the details, Paul is great at this. He took the extra time to sit with me and draw out detailed sketches that were tailored to my backyard environment. He pays attention to detail. He even thought about how my electric panel box door swings out, and he made a door on the deck floor that can be opened in the event that that electrical panel needs to be accessed. He maintained schedule, and got done ahead of schedule on my job. He is responsive, and returns calls/questions. He even texted me pictures to show me daily progress. He's trustworthy, and you won't worry about him being alone at your house while you're at work. I would highly recommend working with Paul.

Recent Review: We decided we wanted to paint our house to make it feel more like ours after purchasing it a year ago. We called Robert Camposecco Painting and a few others to give an estimate. We choose Camposecco Painting and are very glad we did! The job they performed is outstanding. From talking us through the process to watching them prepare the house to be painted was amazing. The time they took before the paint was even on our house was very impressive. They took their time, sealing everything, taping all our windows and doors, caulking every place that possibly could be caulked. Then it was time for the paint, I & my husband were very pleased with them as I my mind multiple times on the colors I wanted. When it was time to paint, the job was done to perfection, the house looks beautiful & also our pool deck. We will never hire another company to paint anything else for us. Next on our to do painting list is the inside and we will only call them to paint it as their attention to detail and their caring attitude towards people blew us away. We would recommend them to anyone and they can use us as a reference anytime! We are very happy with the job they did and the price they quoted!

What do customers in Tampa say about Deck Repair?

They stained the wood decks with the correct deck stain and it is a pleasure to look at and walk on the decks again. They also did some repairs on our dock and stained it. They did more than we expected, even stained under the stairs. Three years ago we had the same wood decks painted by another company and were very unhappy with their work. What a difference! And in addition Sunrise Painting pressure washed the whole house outside walls, the pool deck, etc. for a total lower price than the previous contractor.
