Worst company of kind I have ever worked with! I had a new pool being installed and Hawkins is the electrical company contracted by the pool builder to do the electrical work. They called me on a Wednesday to let me know they would be out the next day to do the electrical work and would need access to the main panel. I informed that nobody would be home (out of state the entire week), but the main panel is on the outside of the house so it would be accessible. I also informed the woman who called that they needed to use the crawl space to run the feed and told her where the crawl space access was. Late the next day I checked my security cameras via my phone, as I did regularly when out of town. That’s when I noticed three of my cameras were offline, all connected through my detached garage. I had an outside receptacle that was too close to the new pool, so as part of code it was removed from the electrical box, which I was fine with. However, the electrician didn’t bother to reconnect the feed from that box that fed power to my garage. I think it’s pretty obvious if you have an electrical box with two feeds, one has power coming in and the other goes to something else. Once Hawkins was notified of their mistake, it took them two days to do a less than five-minute job of correcting their mistake, which means I had three security cameras offline for three days. I also noticed on my security cameras that they didn’t use the crawl space as informed, but instead dug up my front yard to run conduit from one side of the house to the other. All pool construction access was from the back alley, so the front yard was untouched to that point. When I called to ask why they didn’t use the crawl space I was connected to Adrian, who I think is one of the managers. He was very defensive, and never gave a good answer. When I told Adrian I didn’t want electrical conduit through my yard, but instead through the crawl space, like ever other feed on my house, and was obvious to the electricians, he said he could do it but I would have to pay for it. Me pay to correct work they were informed how to do initially and they did wrong??? I then contacted my pool builder about this issue, and they did what good and reputable companies do, and that was pay to have the feed moved to the crawl space, which they did, and wasn’t an issue for Hawkins and could have been done the first time. As part of pool building code, a convivence receptacle is required not less than six feet and no more than 20 feet from the edge of the pool. Since Hawkins removed the already existing receptacle that was too close, they installed a new one, but never tried to contact me and see where I might want it for my convenience, in my yard by my pool. Instead they installed one that was as absolutely as close to the subpanel as possible, but was basically unusable as it was in a far corner that had no deck space or other usable space near it to make it “convenient” for anything. So I had another, up to code receptacle installed by the open part of my new deck on the opposite end of the pool. When Hawkins came back to re-run the electrical feed through the crawl space, I asked them about removing the receptacle they installed, and initially one of the technicians said they would, but when they were about to leave it was still there. I asked them why and they said they spoke to Adrian and he said that since it was up to code when installed that it will stay. I told them I was the customer and it wasn’t their decision on where it should have been installed initially, and that I already had another one installed at my expense and up to code, and didn’t need theirs now. They said they didn’t care and that it would stay, and they left. The entire time they were at my house they were very defensive and argumentative. After the technicians left, I called their office and asked to speak to the owner, Eric Haeck. I was told he was not in the office and was transferred to his voicemail, at which point I left a message with a brief overview and asked him to call me back. Upon completing the voicemail, I got a call back from the receptionist, which thought I got disconnected, at which point she took a message for Eric call me back. I never got a call back from Eric, or anybody, nor has anybody from Hawkins even once apologized for destroying my front yard. Which left big holes on both sides of the sidewalk near the front porch, and were still there when they came back over a moth later to re-run the feed, and I watched as one of the technicians pointed them out to another technician and laughed about it, and they still did nothing about them. Bottom line, this company doesn’t care the slightest about the customer, only how to get the job done the easiest way for them, and their exact words when I spoke to them about running the new feed was they were going to do it “most convenient for us”. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING!!!
