Originally I hired Chris to install a couple of ceiling fans and a range hood vent to replace a non-functioning over the range microwave, but the job evolved over time as I decided to wait for the range hood install and hang additional fans and also replace my two ancient smoke detectors. Chris quoted me a very fair price for all of the work, and in spite of having to remove and then return to re-hang one of the fans when we discovered it was defective, he did not charge me for the additional time. This man knows a lot about so many things because he has been a general contractor for many years. He is friendly, professional, prompt, and very helpful. He is a very hard working person, and seems to enjoy anything that involves improving a home. I had a few years of setbacks with my health, so my home has been neglected and I am working to catch up on a very tight budget. Chris's work and pointers beyond "the sale" have really made an impact on my efforts, motivation, and enjoyment of my home. When I mentioned that I was going to attempt to paint the house myself, Chris quoted a very reasonable price for pressure washing for the size of my home, driveway and sidewalk, and he did a wonderful job. He applied the cleaner and let it sit overnight (something I have never seen someone pressure washing do), and when he did the washing the next day he was very thorough, even giving my wood fence and gate a fresh look! If it was not for the fact that my current paint is 10 years old and doesn't match my new siding, I would not have to paint my house at all, it looks so good! Before leaving today, Chris spent some time giving me tips on how to paint strategically, calculating the amount of paint I need based upon how much I've used of the first 5 gallons while applying 2 coats to just a portion of the house. He talked about the type of roller I should use, etc. He did not have to offer this information, but wanted to make sure I would know how to avoid buying more paint than I need. This general contractor loves his work, even the "small stuff", but also does some amazing major remodeling and construction work, from the photos I have seen. I am considering some kitchen work next summer, and would definitely want him to be my contractor for the job!
