If you have an emergency and they have to come out on a Sunday, for example, they have different rates. They know what they are doing and are very, very good.

Recent Review: I decided to get the work done in two phases. Phase I began August 13 and included installing hurricane-impact windows and doors and was completed on schedule in 5 days. Phase II began October 7, was the major portion of the remodel, and was completed ahead of schedule in 6 weeks. I couldn't ask for a better contractor and am extremely pleased with the professionalism and quality of work. I pretty much had all my details worked out in advance, so all the ordering of cabinetry, countertop material, etc. went quite smoothly. There was hardly a day when some kind of work wasn't in progress. I would highly recommend Total Home Contractors for all your remodel needs. Note: I purchased the kitchen appliances, faucet, and ceiling fans myself and the contractor installed them as part of the project.

Recent Review: service man [ mike ] arrived as scheduled . before starting check up , inquired about unit operation . I explained unit not functioning well so mike did troubleshooting and determined my problem was a malfunctioning part that reduced the efficiency of my unit . repair was promptly made and problem quickly resolved . I was prepared to face a complete replacement for big dollars but they [ mike ] D&W lived up to their reputation as being honest .

Recent Review: Update from my last report on this company. Previously Hot to Cold came out and tried to fix my problem. In that is was not really fixable he did what he could. Spent a couple of hours working on it and then, because he couldn't fix the problem to HIS satisfaction, did not charge me for that visit. A couple of days later the AC broke again. Wayne came out took a look and then discussed with me the options. We choose to replace the faltering system with a new one. They were out the very next day (SATURDAY) they worked diligently and continually to, he even got a call for a second job nearby so they split their team and did both jobs. It was refreshing to meet with Wayne and get to know him. He did exactly what he said he was going to do and at the price he said he would do it at, no surprises. And by the way his price was the least expensive. There might be some benefit going with the big mega A/C companies around here. But for my money get a excellent quality local company. Develop a personal one on one relationship and you will be more than satisfied, I am. Try this guy!!!

Recent Review: Weathermakers put simply is fantastic! I purchased my house three years ago, and their sticker was on my unit, so I took a chance. Their service is prompt, thorough, and done right every time. I had to replace my central AC and not only were they very accommodating, their pricing is extremely competitive. They came in and did the end-to-end install in 6 hours. Their install technicians were very courteous and did not mind me asking questions. Recent Review: After having our AC unit serviced 3 times in 2 months and considering the age and condition of our AC, it was recommended that we replace it. We had three companies provide an estimate. Advanced Cooling was nearly $2,000 less than the company that we had been using and they provided us with a 12 year warranty rather than a 10 year that the other company was going to provide. Advanced Cooling installed our air conditioner the next day. The installation went very smoothly. We live in a condo and the unit had to be installed on the roof which necessitated the use of a crane. We choose Advanced Cooling largely based on the reviews here on Angie's List. I am very glad we did and am glad to recommend this company without reservation. A great job.

Recent Review: Excellent experience! 1st estimate was with the company who contracts with Home Depot (Southern A/C in Winter Haven). Was not impressed with their estimator, felt estimate was too high and that he was trying to force me into making an immediate decision. The opposite was true with the estimator from Springer Brothers. He looked at the estimate from Southern A/C and gave me their price on the same units plus several additional sizes. They had a lower price than Home Depot for the same Trane equipment. He told me which unit would work best for me based on the square footage of the house and didn't try to talk me into a more expensive unit than I needed. I told the estimator with such a large purchase I needed several days to decide and he had no problem with that. Once I decided, they were able to schedule the installation within 2 weeks. The installers were very professional and completed the work in approximately 6 hrs. As part of the new system they installed a new thermostat, and showed me how to use it before leaving. They were very patient with any questions I had, and even changed the inside A/C filter to save me having to climb a ladder that day. Wanted to wait until I got a couple of electric bills before submitting this review, the new system has shown savings on the electric bill. The old system was 14 years old and not at all efficient.

Recent Review: We have had our Payne AC for 27 years. Started a maintenance plan with "The Comfort Authority" a year ago. Over the years, we normally kept our internal air around 72 degrees with 56 percent humidity. It continued to work just fine. But after our last servicing, TJ recommended we start shopping for a new AC system. He naturally recommended his company and more specifically, an 'Inverter AC System'. Asked him to provide a quote. Along with the quote, we received a phone call from the owner of Comfort Authority, Steve Cox. He was very positive and confident about his being the best company with the best people. After quotes from 2 other AC companies, and more research on the products recommended by all 3 companies, I decided on the Inverter AC technology. Went back to The Comfort Authority and closed the deal for a new SEER 17+, 5 ton Inverter System with Air Handler in the attic and compressor outside. As far as I could gather, the inverter system worked with a variable compressor motor that housed a master controller that communicated with the air handler controller and thermostat. The speed of the motor was regulated by data received from the indoor/outdoor sensors of the air handler and thermostat. The purpose being more efficient and scalable cooling and heating with less loss of energy. The decision to choose The Comfort Authority was based on pricing, equipment, and convincing assurances that the installers were skilled and reliable professionals. The Inverter AC System, manufactured and branded by Daiken for the Comfort Authority was installed yesterday by Peter, Marshall, Austin, and Freddie. They called to say they were on their way to make our 9:00 am appointment. They arrived at 8:50am. After introducing himself and all the other members of the team, Peter went over every listed item in the order, ensuring we had an understanding and agreement before the work was started. I sign the acknowledgements. They got started. In addition to removing the old system and bringing in the new, they installed a new pad for the compressor, replaced the grates on the return air risers, crawled through the attic and Mastek sealed the existing flex ducting and air handler, added electric surge suppressors for the air handler and compressor, whole house filter with new plenum to maximize coverage with new air handler, soldered copper tubing and insulated piping, zip tied the wiring, installed a new thermostat with a new app for my mobile phone, along with a good lesson on its use. Even though it started raining real hard, it didn't slow them down a bit. They opened a portable tarp to cover the outside installation. All the work is best described as team work. Everyone helping each other get their work done. The work was done well and on time. After sweeping and removing all debris from the attic, garage, and outside work areas, they left us with an amazing AC system. Our normal comfort level is now 2 degrees higher, 74F, and 10 degrees lower humidity, 46. What an amazingly comfortable and cost saving experience.

Recent Review: He was all around great to deal with. If it wasn't for the sensor having to be repositioned, we wouldn't of had to hire him because he basicly told me just to flush the hose a couple of times over the phone. Which he said is the most common problem why air conditioners stop working.

Recent Review: Luis showed up on time for quote. He was more thorough than the other electricians that came out to quote. His quote was higher but he explained what needed to be done and pointed out that there might have been added costs with the other electricians since their quotes did not describe all services. For example, he quoted $259 per ceiling fan vs $127 from another electrician but the other electrician never said anything about the box necessary to mount the ceiling fan. In addition, he was willing to replace my thermostats when no one else would. I did not want to have to hire another contractor for such a job. He was able to start the work immediately and explained that it would be a 2 day job and asked for me to prioritize. After day one, I had my new chandelier, ceiling fans and thermostats installed. This was a Thurs and we agreed the rest of the work would be performed the following Monday. He arrived Monday morning promptly and before starting any new works, made sure I was satisfied with the work done previously. He took the time to answer all of my questions and followed up on each one. He finished the rest of the work, went over everything again with me. He even discounted the original price on one item because it did not take him as long as he expected to resolve! He was very clean and made sure each work area was as clean (if not cleaner) than he found it. He was courteous and professional. I will use him again for sure.

Recent Review: They come twice a year and check to see how the units are working and change the filters. It costs $258 a year. We called them out this time because our the fan stopped running. They came out the same day and fixed the problem in one hour. They are very professional, knowledgeable, and take time to answer any questions we might have. They call before they come out.
