Overall the job went well. The windows only took a day to install. The build-out for the bay window took a lot longer. I've never really gone through a renovation like this before and each person has a specialized job to do . The carpenters ( - - Dennis and Greg - - were fabulous) did the actual build out. Then the dry-wall (Ezra - also fabulous - - nice smooth walls), the roofer and finally the stucco guy. Each of these people came on a different days/diff times. They were all prompt and did generally pick up after themselves. The carpenters (Dennis and Greg), who did the most extensive work, made sure to lay cloths down and wear booties in the house (as well as Ezra, the drywall expert). Greg came out to measure before installing the window and he took my verbalization, interpreted them and made my Bay window dream a reality. The Bay window is beautiful and I have extra storage now, too. His vision was for it to look like it had always been apart of the house and not some addition added onto the house later. See for yourself in my photos. Of course in any big job, like this, there will be some issues - the biggest has been the Simonton windows themselves - in particular the sliding glass doors. This is NOT a Morgan Exterior issue - they did their job putting them in, but they do sell the product and have not asked for my final down-payment until I am satisfied and the windows are what was promised, for that I am grateful. Evidently something is happening on the manufacturing end and their quality control has not been 100%. I'm actually having my 8th sliding glass door re-ordered due to dings/white marks/small particles on the inside of the glass. I have come to learn that the standard is, if you can stand back 10 feet and still see the "mark" then the window should be replaced. So, I'm now dealing with the Simonton rep he's coming out tomorrow to look at another "ding" I found in a replaced window. Since I teach and had the summer off I was more flexible in my time and ability to stay at home. However, now school is starting and I'm wanting this resolved. I have appreciated Keith and Kirk Morgan, they have both been very understanding and have also had to deal with the lack of some quality control on the part of Simonton. I'm going to remain positive that this will be resolved soon and the next sliders I get will be without dings or white marks. Other than that, I love my new windows - - much more quiet in the house, my upstairs is staying cooler, I don't get the moisture in my house from window condensation, the house looks better with my new white windows (no more ugly brown aluminum) and my bay is beautiful. I will be replacing my French doors in the near future and will use Morgan Exterior to do the job.
