My new kitchen is absolutely perfect, so very pretty and easy to work in now. It used to be cramped, hot, and dark, with the sink and range in the wrong place, making it a very awkward cooking space. But no longer! We redesigned the entire space, tore down a wall, put in all new cabinets, counters, and backsplash, new lighting, built in the microwave and installed a real range hood vented to the outside. Now the kitchen does not get hot even after cooking all afternoon. We interviewed at least eight home remodeling companies, and Oldja won out because of their careful attention to listening to what we wanted, the detailed design drawings that showed exactly where everything would be placed in our reworked floor plan, and the showroom where we could actually see and compare cabinets and countertops when making our selections. The crew was very skilled and organized, easy to work with, and we never had a moment’s worry about the quality of the work. They showed up every day for the five weeks of demolition and construction. They cleaned up at the end of every work day. Their attention to detail in trim fitting and finish work was expert. Part of this project was replacing the flooring and baseboard trim in the entire first floor, extending out to our lanai floor also. The crew cleaned the floor down to the concrete, removing both old tile and an unfortunate dark and depressing wood floor. Then Tom the tile installer did a fabulous job on the new porcelain floor. He also completely replaced our fireplace facade with new tile.
