We called Standard Heating because our heat did not turn off when it reached the temperature on the thermostat. We had used them before and were very pleased with the company then. Today, the technician called and said he was running early and if I minded if he came earlier than was quoted when I made appointment. The technician tried to get the system to replicate the problem we had for the past two days. Unfortunately, everything was operating perfectly. He checked the boiler and the thermostat. He stated that it could be the thermostat or something in the furnace. He discussed that the cheapest and easiest thing to do would be to replace our very old thermostat. He quoted the price of the thermostat and mentioned the "call out" fee of $99. He also stated that if the thermostat was not the problem, they would come back and get the problem fixed and I would not have to pay the "call out" fee. He replaced the thermostat, asked if I wanted a wall plate to hide the wall area the old thermostat was--Isaid yes but when the plate did not cover the area--he took it off, peeled away the wall paper that was behind the old thermostat and cleaned up any mess made. He asked if we wanted to keep the old thermostat (pointing out it had mercury in it) and then took it to properly dispose of it. He then showed me how to use the new thermostat. He was very polite and professional. When I mentioned we had found the company on Angie's List, he mentioned that there might be a coupon to be used for today's service. I appreciate that!

Initially he came out and replaced our thermostats and circuit board. Everything went well but it seemed like dampers for zones were not working. I called him to have him come verify that it was all hooked up correctly and telling the dampers to open and close. Upon his arrival he immediately discovered they were stuck and needed to be replaced. He said the price would be around $600 I said ok and asked if I owed anything for his brief visit and he stated I owed $102. I questioned that because he was coming back to verify his work I expected to pay him for his time but thought that was a bit expensive for a 5 minute visit seeing I already spend $800 with him and was going to be spending another $600. He immediately got very upset and made me feel so uncomfortable in my own home with my 3 little children there. He stormed out and told me to hire a different company. I truly to this day do not know why he acted like this. I was literally writing the check out to him when he got so upset. I Have never felt so uncomfortable with a person in my home and will never have a man come in my home again unless my husband is home. It startled me that much. It was very disappointing as i previously told my neighbors what a great guy he was and how nice it was to find a good company like his. I now take that back.

Recent Review: Our A/C went out in early July. I called Tonna early in the morning to follow up on an online repair request. They sheduled a service visit promptly and the repairman arrived punctually and got right to work. He came back, explained what was wrong, how much it would cost to repair and upon authorization, installed a new part. The entire experience was positive and professional, and I felt the cost was reasonable. I will call them again.

Recent Review: Initially I called ENVIROWORLD about malfunctioning air exchangers that were (incorrectly) installed as bath vents by the previous owner of our house. Tom Match, President of ENVIROWORLD, generously provided free advise to help with the problem temporarily, and later provided a permanent solution at a reasonable cost. We were so pleased with ENVIROWORLD'S results that we asked Tom to analyze airflow throughout the house. The problem we had was that temperature control in the bedrooms was inconsistent and the air in various parts of house often seemed stale. Tom went to work and found that some of the original ducting was not properly routed, and sometimes not even connected! Many long days later, ENVIROWORLD completed repairs, cleaned out the old ducts and installed new ones as needed. All of this extensive work was performed without inconvenience to the homeowners, and the work site was clean at the end of each day - a totally professional, high-quality job in every respect. The original furnaces and air conditioners were about 15 years old, so we upgraded to the latest high-efficiency equipment with new furnaces, filter systems, air conditioners and thermostats. Importantly, ENVIROWORLD arranged for all available discounts and rebates, so we feel that we got the best deal on best system for our home. Recent Review: He found my gas pressure high so he adjusted it down. Checked the amp draw on the motors; they passed. My flame sensor was dirty so he cleaned that. My igniter was weak so he replaced that. I asked about a programmable thermostat for my lower lever so he installed one. He did the work while I watched and explained everything thoroughly. The igniter was $75 and the programmable thermostat was $75 (he programed it), so with labor I paid $230. I included a picture of the thermostat; looks simple but programmable for Sat. Sun and M-F, with individual settings for raising or lowering the temperature as many times a day as you like.

Recent Review: Service person responded in an hour after I returned home from an overnight stay to a very cold house. I told him I was having difficulty with the thermostat and had planned to call my regular heating service the next day, but they did not have 24 hour service. He did a thorough check of the furnace, and the thermostat and did make the same diagnosis. Installation was prompt. He helped me set the programmable thermostat. Price was relatively expensive, but what one would expect for emergency service on a below zero day in February.

Recent Review: The estimate was inclusive and competitive, with Tim being very knowledgeable about the products (Lennox) he was selling. He provided detailed insight into what technologies would be best for our home and how to overcome the zone heating system that was previously installed. After signing the paperwork, Todd and crew came out a week later and did an amazing job of removing the old furnace and A/C, disengaging the zone system, and installing our new hardware and software (thermostat and control panel). The job took two days and they did it seamlessly without so much as a scratch on anything. The house is amazingly comfortable and the system is a breeze to use.
