PERFORMANCE POOL & SPA

This job was a night mare and still is. They installed in a rush. They did NOT fix the rusted wall panel. They did NOT use the proper liner lock to hold in the liner. The result was a ruined liner that caved in, leaked all water in the spring and ruined my concrete decking. There is also a hole in the liner from sharp debris that was not fixed after the install. They did not respond to desperate calls to save my pool and a new contractor came and fixed it. They hired a lawyer to go after the money for install. They collected half at the start and wanted the rest. The owner never came out at the time of the install to look at the problems. My pool is ruined

The old liner had eroded. I purchased the new one in June, but they still have yet to install it. The sub contractor has yet to install it.

I called for an estimate for a pool liner replacement. I was told that since I didn't buy the pool from them, they were not willing to perform this for me.

I should've trusted my dog. He hated him. We ordered a pool liner from him in April 2019. I texted and called after the weather cleared up in May. He rarely responded and when he did say he was going to show up he didn't. Always had some sort of excuse like shipping or he received the wrong item. In the end the liner didn't get installed until mid August and it did not go well. The liner kept falling into the pool as water was added. He left the old liner laying in my grass after saying he would get rid of it. He never showed up to close the pool after weeks of asking. If you see Rick, run. The low prices he quotes is just not worth it. To make things worse, our liner is falling again and we need to find someone else to handle the warranty

We contracted with Dolphin Pool and Spa folks to replace a liner on a pool of a new house we purchased. The install was shoddy. They left rocks, debris and a lot of wrinkles throughout the pool. The worst area being the steps to the pool with horrible wrinkles and the liner pulling away for the pool wall. They had to come out multiple times but only after having a difficult conversation or text exchange. They also ripped our pool cover while removing it to perform replacing the liner. We ended up having to map each and every area there was debris under the liner prove to the company there was indeed debris under the liner. Over 30 items of debris. We also discovered during the pool floor inspection that they had not repaired issues with the pool concrete which was part of their proposal and cost. The next larger issue was regarding the warranty of the liner and the liner itself. I asked the company repeatedly for warranty documentation and was given a link to only the terms of the warranty coverage and a statement that their company covers the warranty and registers the liner for us. Called the company that made the liner and they have no record for 'our' liner, the company registering a liner or us. So, I then asked for the serial number for our liner. And here's where everything started to fit into place as to why the company did not want to provide us with the serial number or actual warranty information.... You see we selected this contractor because of a promotional upgrade on the liner. It was an upgrade from a 20mil liner to 28mil. We even informed and confirmed with the contractor that the liner we selected through him qualified for the promotion upgrade and because of that, we approved their proposal. We wouldn't have ever selected them without this promotional upgrade. I had the contractor confirm that they had installed 28mil pool liner, the contractor confirmed that they had installed a 28mil pool liner, so I then called the manufacturer with the serial number to confirm warranty and liner specs. It turned out the contractor didn't install a 28mil pool liner, they installed a 20mil liner. Reached out again to the contractor, the response was not good. Definitely one of the worst contractor experiences I have ever had. I would suggest looking elsewhere for your pool and spa needs

The provider installed a pool liner in 2013. One month after install, the pattern on the liner rubbed off on my skin. After several visits from Dolphin staff, we reached an agreement that Dolphin would replace the liner in the spring of 2014. I have this in writing. However, between then and May 2014, the company changed hands. Despite numerous phone calls on which the new owner stated he would make it right, with each subsequent call he said he dropped the ball and forgot. In fact, he asked me who I was on more than one occasion. He had a completely different answer every time I talked to him, he forgot, he was waiting on the liner manufacturer, he was going to send me something, he was going to call - never did he follow through. After more than three months of calls and frustration, I finally asked if I needed to find a lawyer to resolve the situation. He asked for one more shot to "make it right". Instead, what he did was call me and tell me that my pool cover caused the damage and they couldn't do anything. The offending pool cover was purchased nine months AFTER I reported the damage so there is NO possible way his statement is true. Take your business elsewhere! The new owner is dishonest and unethical and apparently has issues with memory loss

Terrible. I asked 2x for someone to come out and give me a quote on replacing my pool liner. Both times they made it seem like I was bothering them to come over and look at what needed to be done. Finally, the owner himself came out after my second request. Said it all looked good. The liner is 13 years old! Liners have on average a 8-10 year life span. This one was showing signs of its age, and the floor was also in rough shape and needed to be re-done. There was also some question as to whether one side had settled enough to be fixed. It was time, and I wanted it replaced. The rest of the pool and equipment is still in really good shape and it was time for the new liner and floor. I was willing to pay for professionals to come out and do the job correctly. I went into the store for a 3rd time and talked to the head service person and expressed again that I wanted it replaced. He took down a few notes and told me " he was going to talk to the owner on Monday and they'll get right back to me." Six days went by and I had to stop in for more chemicals. The service person walked out of the back room, looked right at me, turned and went back into the backroom. Never acknowledged me or explain the delay in getting back to me. Another week went by and I get a phone message from the owner seeing if this note requesting a liner replacement was the original one or if this a new request. This makes me wonder what the communication is between the owner and his head service person. Their message was sent loud and clear, they were not interested in the job or my future business. I just wish they would have said it right off the bat so I could have moved on and got the job done a few weeks earlier. I found someone else and hired the job out. I have been a customer of Blue Fin for over 10 years, purchasing all my pool chemicals, misc pool supplies and even a pump from them this past spring. The past 2 seasons I've seen a major change in this business and not in a good way. Changed up their product line and loosing some great staff. This service issue was the last straw and lost Blue Fin my business

KALIFORNIA POOL & SPA

I will use Kalifornia Pool and Spa in the future based on a visit and estimate from the owner. I was impressed by the fact that he assessed our situation and recommended we hold off on spending any money right now because the condition of our pool was not as critical as we thought. He was obviously respectful of our needs ahead of making a sale for himself

I had got bids from several other firms, but selected Custom based on factors including responsiveness and price. Ginny is one of a kind. She knows the business inside and out. Incredibly responsive and she's going to do what she says. I'd recommend giving strong consideration to Custom on major pool projects. The pool project was taking place at the same time as other projects and it was well coordinated. Custom came out early this year (the project was done a year ago) to resolve a small issue - essentially standing behind what they had done

He was here when he said he was going to be and he did a wonderful job. The liner looks great, there are no wrinkles and the stairs on the pool look better than they ever have. I was going to have a party and needed the pool and he made sure it was done quickly.

I chose them after contacting other Pool liner companies including a few local ones. I was hesitant about installing my own liner but after talking with the owner, I felt bold enough to do it. I measured my pool and submitted. All 200 pounds of my liner was on my door step in 4 working days! It installed perfectly and looks great. I did it in less than 4 hours saving $3000 over having a local service do it. I would recommend this company without hesitation

POOL PRODUCTS DIRECT

I am so disappointed with reading some bad reviews about Pool Products Direct. I am extremely high maintenance when it comes to services I use. One review I read was that Todd wasn't very friendly and that is why they won't use PPD. If you would like, please contact me and I will direct you to some contractors I have used in the past that were super friendly, but did a horrible job. I personally care more about A+ work rather than being friendly. It is very hard to get an A rating out of me, but Pool Products Direct gets an A+++ from me. I agree Todd doesn't sit and chat and isn't very personable and him and his crew rarely come to the door or chat with me when I am outside (unless I say something), BUT he and his crew does a fantastic job with everything they do for my pool. This year, they installed our new pool liner. I watched his crew work and was so impressed. There is so much that goes into putting in a liner and those guys seemed to know exactly what to do. They worked everyday and long hours this year to get most of their customer's liners in by Memorial Day Weekend,(because of a winter dragged on this year, they were very behind) but that didn't seem to affect the work. His crew seems very dedicated to their work and I couldn't be more impressed. No, they didn't stop to talk to me when I was out there, but Bret (head of the team) did answer all of our questions when we approached him at the end. His prices are very reasonable as well. The more well known companies charge double for new liners (talked to a couple companies at a Home and Garden expo) Sadly, this August, our pool pump motor went out. After emailing Todd in the evening, Bret was out the very next morning putting a new one in. Thank goodness too, because it was the last full week of warmth we had to enjoy the pool! They do open and close pools very quickly, but I imagine doing so many they have the system down to a science. I have never had a problem with how quickly they do it and no they don't position the jets always, but so? My husband is very particular on how they are positioned so he would much rather do it himself anyways. That is also something so simple to do, I am not sure why someone would complain of that. The first year we owned our pool, we had a not so good company servicing it that way over charged us for very little work done. After having many bad contractors work on other parts of our home, I know that if you find a good one, stick with them! That's why Pool Products Direct will be the ONLY company to service my pool as long as I own it

I worked directly with Ginny, who is one of the owners, but all of her staff is great. The worker also re-piped the duct work and did a good job. They also do free water analysis for your pool, and I consider them very reputable. I would certainly recommend this company.
They had closed my pool in the fall. They are so nice and so caring. I probably spend about $150 for this season. They are very friendly and very available. I can call them in the morning if I have a problem and they come out the same day. My neighbour uses them and she recommended them. They do the best they can and they are reasonable
Responded to my call right away and came out and replaced the unit within 2 days. This is the second time I have used this service and am very pleased with responsiveness and work done. Professional and helpful in helping us get back on track with the pool cleaning. Was fast and thorough as well.
The latest story with Peterson concerns our automatic pool cover which was installed a few years ago. For some reason due to weather or the ground moving in some way our cover box shifted and in the process our cover was ripped. After calling them and after a a couple of trips out to look at things they fixed the box, repaired the cover and got us back to normal in a very short time. While things like this should probably not happen ....they did. What is most important to note is that Peterson stood behind their work, fixed the problem and all the time treated us with the utmost respect. Our other dealings with them with repairs and maintaining our swimming pool through the years have gone the same way. We will be putting in a new liner next spring and there is only one place I will look at having it done
I like him 'cause he's very knowledgeable. He showed me all the different products that they have and how each of them work. He made sure that they would come out after the installation and help us train the dogs. He wasn't pushy and never kept calling me after I called him and said that I'll do the sprinklers first
We called Andy and he had his guys came out within 3 days, they showed up on time and had the job done in 1-2 hours. They were curtious and helpful in explaining different aspects of the electrical system and pool cleaning system to us that we didn't know. We didn't have a automatic pool cleaner (polaris) when we purchased the pool and didn't know if it had the ability to have a automatic cleaner, they explained that at one time it had one and would be possible to put it back in. Andy called us within several days of completing the work to give us bids on the cleaning units and sent us brochures on all of them
They were great to work with. Always prompt on answering calls, very quick to be able to provide a quote and when other questions came up (crack in my stairs) they were able to help provide some advice on how to deal with it. I would use them again when my liner needs to be replaced again.
I used Prestige Pools for the first time to replace a worn out pool heater. They promptly returned my call and asked appropriate questions about my pool since they had never serviced it before. Their price was similar to other pool dealers. They stocked and recommended a better quality heater than my local dealer which was important to me to avoid future down-time and service calls. They accommodated my schedule for the install date even though it's a busy time of the year for them. The service tech, Bob, was great. When he was plumbing in the new heater, he went out of his way to correct an unrelated plumbing issue at no additional charge - in my experience this is rare in the pool service industry. So far the heater works and there are no leaks. I was happy with their service, their price was fair, and I plan to use them again in the future
Wish they would've explained better how to do stuff with pool since we were new owners. But they did a great job installing our new salt water system and send emails every year at the right times to open and close pool with an easy way to schedule them to come.
It went great. They replaced my above ground pool liner as it was an insurance claim. They originally installed our pool in 2003. They have been great for customer service and any repair work. I buy most of my pool chemicals there and the staff is great. If you have a doughboy pool, I would strongly recommend The Pool Store. Keep up the great work
They were helpful, polite and did their work well. When we told them we had algae they told us how to clean it up and to wait to close the pool until it was clear. Then, they said they would put us on the "do first" list when it was clear since we had already made an appointment and they came out very promptly when we told them the algae was cleared
