TC Hydro Seeding Inc
5.0
Great experience, great team! I wasted a lot of time contacting other landscape companies which had a hydroseeding reference on Angie's list but either had never performed this service or had discontinued it. Since we were arranging to seed in November, I was beginning to expect we wouldn't find any one to do the job. So I was quite surprised when TC Hydroseeding was not only still in the business, but very responsive and willing to get the job done before inclement weather the following week. They are a small business run by young guys with a lot of integrity. They we able to answer all of my questions about hydroseeding in the fall. Normally fall seeding has a very low germination rate (40%) due to seeds being redistributed by wind, water and birds. But hydroseeding pastes seed into place with a fertilized fibrous mulch mixture resulting in more than 80% germination. They were also able to put down multiple varieties of grass on the same service call, which was exactly what we needed. Their minimum charge was $600 for 2,500 square feet. Though we had less than this area to do, we decided to commit. Our landscape project which was just completed left us with amended soil on the boulevard and a putting green size lawn in the front yard. We also had built up soil to create a slope on the west of our property, which we did not want to see eroded by spring. We also had installed a retaining wall to the east and in the process tore up the empty lot there. Hard scape features would make maintaining grasses to the east and west a pain, so we had them put down a No-Mow mixture. They showed on time, were incredibly friendly, careful not to spray outside the areas requested and didn't disturb anything with their significantly large and long rubber hoses (they even have a canon mounted atop the truck for fields). The only draw back was that for the first few weeks the color was almost turquoise. The neighbors were very curious about this color, so we were happy when it faded to a more natural pine green. It's still winter and a very warm and wet one at that, but we've seen minimal erosion so far. I'll update this review in the spring after we have growth to report on final success.

We kept getting rain, so I had to reschedule a few times, and they were very accommodating and punctual. Showed up when the committed, and got the job done quickly. Price was fair, and cheaper than me buying the seed and grass mats to cover it. I had never done hydroseeding, so I learned a little bit. It was thin in places, so I would have had it sprayed thicker, as it really grew well where it was a little thicker. However, 4 weeks later it is 100% green, although a little thin in places. The results are better than anticipated

They were good. I thought that the pricing was excellent. They came out and it looked like a good job. I asked them some questions about the grass not coming in fast enough. They were not as responsive as they should have. I did not find the follow-up was good. The grass came up after that. The job turned out good in the end. I would use them again.

Amazing experience. We were in urgent need to get sod down before a graduation party and they delivered. We contacted on Monday and by Wednesday they were putting down sod before the party on Saturday. Great service and quality work. Will definitely call again.

I called them to enquire about overseeding and the gentleman on the other side was very thorough and professional. He took all time and patience to explain me how and when I should work my lawn to make it look nicer. I will surely give them business when I go ahead and do the work.

KING SCAPES
5.0
King Scapes moved quickly and expertly and had our lawn looking brand new in no time. We had some of our seed wash away due to a flash flood days after the initial seeding. Don and crew were back out with seed the next week to replace what had washed away. Talk about service! We never thought our lawn could look so good and now have neighbors that come up and compliment and THANK us for having such a nice yard within our neighborhood.

Poor results. Couldn't grow gas. Hired someone else and found that the soil was lacking phosphorus. They applied fertilizer and worked great.

Aspen Landscape Inc
5.0
Two years ago we hired Aspen to shape and seed a wooded area behind our house. Using a bobcat and a slit-seeder, the job was accomplished very quickly and at a reasonable price. Now, two years later, the results are brilliant. So when we needed old rock-based landscaped removed in preparation for seeding, we immediately thought of Aspen. Just as before, Gary's response was immediate and his price reasonable. The project started very quickly and the hard-working crew was a wonder to watch. They were careful and paid attention to detail - for example they worked very carefully around the roots of existing trees, left straw cylinders near the sidewalk to catch any washed-off dirt, and laid planks on the lawn when crossing it with a bobcat. We were working with our favorite landscape architect, who is from a different company. He had proposed to cover our remaining rock landscaping with mulch, since it was a very large area and the rock would be expensive to remove. But once the bushes were cut down, this landscape architect had second thoughts and recommended removing the old rock and the roots of the old bushes. And while we thought the landscape architect's estimate included removing a rotting in-the-ground deck, and roots near the house, apparently it did not. Moreover, his company was reluctant to do this hard work. So we asked Gary to propose removing an extensive area of old landscape rock, roots and old decking and prepare the area for replanting and mulch, even though Aspen was not our primary contractor for this job. As usual, Aspen's response was immediate, the price was reasonable, the work started immediately, and the results were excellent. When comparing the proposal process of the two companies, I noticed that the company where our favorite landscape architect works uses software that did not include all necessary costs, for example, preparing the site. When Gary estimated, not only did he look at our site, he had his crew leader check it out also. The Aspen's proposals were for a complete job with no hidden additional costs - something we really appreciated! I would absolutely recommend Aspen Landscaping to anyone - we will certainly call Gary for our next project.

FIELD OUTDOOR SPACES INC

Love this company! Our yard was pretty beat up and we needed help getting it to "curb appeal" condition before putting it on the market for sale. They came out and talked with me about what I needed and then followed up promptly with their estimate. After giving them the go-ahead, they got the work done quickly. They did an excellent job!! Highly recommend.

Recent Review: I am extremely pleased with, and highly recommend this company!!! Outstanding service, professional, friendly and do a phenomenal job! The crew was polite, courteous, answered all my questions and cleaned up after themselves. When I called Shades of Green Landscaping, was not only the gentleman very nice, he sensed the desperation in my voice, and offered to come out the next day, which was a Sunday, to look at my yard and give me his opinion and a quote. When he came out he said my yard was salvageable, didn't look like to me, but he was honest, frank, friendly and most importantly knowledgeable. His crew came out, dethatched, and aerated my yard, spread black dirt, seeded and then put down on the north and south slopes some type of straw to keep the seed from washing away. They also replaced a bush by my driveway that had seen better days, replaced a dead bush beneath my dining room window, and trimmed the tree in my front yard. I was told by July 4th my yard would be well on it way; this is June 16th, and my yard looks brand new!!! I've had several people comment on how nice it looks. The grass is a deep green, and very thick, even where it was dead! I am so pleased that I have hired Shades of Green to care for my yard with the exception of mowing. I highly recommend this company, can't say enough good about them!
