A Pane in the Glass Construction LLC
3.0
We started working with A Pane in the Glass in September of 2014. They were quick with service to begin. They came out to take measurements and take a piece of trim work for color matching. They were pretty helpful throughout the preliminary process of making a decision of which windows to purchase. After we signed the contract to have the work done, they left and we didn't hear from them until December. They called the first week of December to schedule installation. We expressed that we would not move our very large Christmas tree in order to install the large front window, so the installation of that window was scheduled for a later date. We were told that all windows except the large one would be installed completely within a three week time frame in order to be done for Christmas. The week before Christmas we were told it may not be able to get done and it took many phone calls and emails in order to get the work scheduled for that week. It was a frustrating process to get it all done. It was done, but from start to almost finish was a three week process, when we were told it would take about 3 days When the first round of installation was done, we had one window with a broken sash and the door handle was the wrong color. We were told they would re-order them and replace them with the correct ones when they came in January to put in the large window. When the scheduled date came around to install the large front window, they came as scheduled. The crew had not checked the materials before beginning work and after tearing the siding off the front of the house, they realized the large (most expensive) window was damaged due to very cold temperatures that day. They then had to replace the siding before leaving, all the work that was done that day was the replacement of a door handle and the replacement of the broken sash, and the crew was at our house all day. Upon inspection of the replaced window sash, the grid-lines in between the panes were crooked and the sash still needs to be replaced by the installer ( 4 months after replacing the original broken sash). After the window installation failed in January we scheduled a date in February. When that day rolled around, we waited for the installers to come to the house. 2 hours after their expected arrival they called to inform us they would not be coming due to cold temperatures again that day. We then had to look ahead to March in order to get the installation completed. The third installation date was finally the day the window got installed. It took the crew an entire day to replace the window and complete the trim work. When I inspected the work when I got home, I noticed some large flaws and mismatched trim work. Upon asking, I was told there was damage to the drywall and instead of leaving it for me to repair, they just covered it with the trim piece from the old window. The corner trim pieces on the two round windows do not match, and they are right next to each other. We have still not paid our final balance and will not pay the balance until the replacement window sash with crooked lines is replaced. Overall, we were not happy with the timelines this company required to complete what they said would be a fairly quick job. Our window project is still not complete and it has been 8 months since we started working with them

Handyman Connection of Eden Prairie
1.0
It did not. Handyman Connection Lied from beginning to end. The quote stated including materials, but they they asked us to buy the materials before they started the work. When questioned they said that me expecting the word including to mean including was semantics on my part and refused to acknowledge my complaint. Took weeks to get my money back and they kept a 5% cut for the materials that they purchased form my job which, in their mind, were not included and I needed to buy the

Weld & Sons Plumbing

The entire process was great!! From the original consultation, guidance provided for my purchase, scheduling the removal and subsequent visits to complete the new drywall - it was excellent. Everyone I dealt with was polite and very helpful, responsive, and provided top quality service. During the installation day the team noticed a crack in the new tub. They rushed to get a replacement tub, and brought extra crew to ensure the installation was completed that day. I would recommend Weld & Son's without reservations

The crew did an excellent job doing our bathroom update in the promised timeframe. We love the look and operation of our new Onyx shower! Extra work was needed to diagnose and fix a water leakage problem and that was handled in an expert fashion. We would recommend Great Lakes Renovation.

Handy Rite
5.0
All work was performed as described and in a timely manner. Ben informed us before starting the ceiling work that it wouldn't be 'perfect' if the entire grid was not replaced as well, but we were okay with that and appreciated the heads up. The bathroom door that we had replaced was a typical hollow door. It was not pre-hung in a frame and it did not have the hole drilled for the doorknob. We stained the door the night before and he installed it perfectly! We will definitely use Ben again for projects around the house

Platinum Remodeling & Handyman Services
5.0
This is the third time we have used Platinum and each time has been excellent. Dick did a wonderful job of installing these faucets (replacing 15 year old). He cleaned up . Also installed towel bars, and paper towels which included masterful wall repair and painting. Clean up was very thorough. On top of that, Dick is a wonderful person to have in our home. Highly, highly recommend them. Let me add that Anna, was prompt about scheduling and updating--and she made arrangements for us to select Faucets at Ferguson. A great experience in every way

Kron Renovations

Craig and his team made our unliveable basement liveable again. Heavy rains in June 2010 caused our basement to flood. We had torn up the carpet, taken down the walls, removed portions of our suspended ceiling and more. We then installed drain tile, a sump pump, and spray foam insulation. Beyond that, the basement was a torn-apart disaster. Craig worked with us to gauge our desires for the repair and remodel. He offered suggestions for improving the space as well as addressing our concerns and our limited budget. We decided that we would redo the tiny 3/4 bathroom, add a half-wall to separate our laundry room from the rest of the open space, and minorly upgrade the rest of the basement. Ultimately, he and his crew added more lighting, updated outlets, built the half-wall, custom-built a new shower, replaced and vented the bath fan, replaced the bath vanity and toilet, installed a glass block window in the bath, replaced the drop ceiling grid in the bath, laid ceramic tile in the bath, installed new drywall throughout the basement, added additional heating vents, laid vinyl tile, replaced the dryer vent, rehung the drop ceiling grid, painted and trimmed the walls, and installed carpet. The entire project took only about a month to complete. Craig worked diligently and conscientiously. When we ran into an unrelated leak, Craig searched high and low to identify the cause and ensure it would not happen again. When we noticed scuffing on our basement stairs from the drywall delivery, he sanded and refinished them. If we brought a concern to his attention, he patiently found a solution for us within our budget. He went above and beyond his duties as a contractor to help us get our basement back. We would hire him again in a heartbeat for other jobs and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone else

It was pretty good. They were not very responsive at first. They got it done quickly. At first they got the wrong cabinet doors and went ahead and installed them. We had to re-order the correct cabinet doors.

WORKING FOR YOU
5.0
The job was carried out extremely well. Rob and his crew were professional, courteous and efficient. In addition, Rob came up with multiple creative suggestions to help us save costs on the project, and his estimate of the project cost was right on. We were very happy with how the end product looked. Rob and his team offer high quality work at a fair price. Rob will be our first choice for any future carpentry / remodeling / general handiwork we require in the future

Best Plaster & Drywall
5.0
We bought a place with a lot of wrecked plaster ceilings. Garth and his crew were very professional and replaced them all. They created an excellent system to get the drywall in the house, they were able to work quickly and were easy to communicate with. Our house has no straight walls and required a lot of finesse. They were able to handle these challenges in a timely fashion

B & R Hardwood & Tile
5.0
Based on other reviews, I decided to have Kurt Kuhlmann of B&R Hardwood and TIle give me a bid on replacing the flooring in our entranceway, kitchen and dining area. His bid was very competitive and he was a good listener as I told him our needs. So we went with him. Our original flooring in the entrance and dining area was parquet and the kitchen had vinyl. Kurt had Greg and Rob do the demolition, removing the subfloor (damaged by the glue from the parquet install) and installing new. The new subfloor was both screwed and glued in place to minimize squeaking. They then installed porcelain tile in the entrance and closet (prior to installing the tile, they installed a barrier separating the tile from the wood subfloor. allowing the tile to dry properly, assuring a secure fit.). They then went on to removing the upper half of the wall separating the dining and living area, thus opening up the main floor allowing a view to our backyard. Greg and Rob can do just about anything, including drywall. They repaired the wall to which the separating wall connected. They also repaired a hole in the outside wall that had been there due to an exhaust leading from a gas stove that I had removed. I recently painted over the dry wall repairs and the results were flawless. Kevin and Mattie came in next to install the hardwood flooring. After reviewing a number of selections with Kurt we decided to go with Appalachian Red Oak (Appalachian is a Canadian company known for quality flooring). They did a great job and the wood floors are gorgeous. The next stage of the job was installing new baseboards on our entire main floor allowing the new flooring and base boards to blend. Next came the installation of the ledge boards and trim on the new half wall and on the outside walls of our downstairs rooms. The ledge board install in the downstairs rooms was particularly difficult due to the limited area underneath the window trim. Once the ledge boards were installed a very thin strip of wall was still visible, impossible to paint. I asked if they could somehow fill that area with trim, which they did, amazingly. The quality of the baseboards, ledge boards and trim was excellent, both in the quality of the wood and in the stain and finish applied. Kurt and Roy did this finishing work, both meticulous and skilled. Through the whole process, everyone involved did their best to minimize dust and dirt, placing plastic over all of our furniture and hallway entrances and tarps on the floors. Their cleanups were always very thorough. I could not be more pleased.

A to Z Construction Inc.
5.0
Val was responsive when I inquired about a quote. After receiving the quote I took almost two months to follow-up and he was immediately responsive and we set a start date for the project. This was pretty small, a narrow tile wall in my bathroom removed, replaced with drywall, painted, and then installation of an IKEA sink (which can be tricky with their plumbing). The project was completed about three weeks ago, it looked fantastic just as I wanted, and I've had no problems or cause for complaints in three weeks of use so far. I would definitely seek out A to Z again for additional work

Twin City Handyman LLC
5.0
I was extremely impressed by the work of Twin City Handyman. I had a complicated retiling job that turned into a full remodel. I live in an older house with a bathroom that has a large window inside the shower. The window hadn't been sealed properly so water was seeping into the wall causing damage to the backer board and tile. Jeff from Twin City Handyman stripped the bathroom down to the studs and then Joe was brought in to work on plumbing, hang new drywall, install a ceiling fan, retile, paint, etc. Everyone was friendly and professional. I also appreciated Joe's attention to detail. I would definitely recommend this business to anyone looking for help remodeling
Tim, the installer, was conscientious and capable. The job took longer than expected (two and a half days and one full one) but we are very pleased with the outcome.
Matt showed up on time for the estimate and we discussed how the work would be performed and what material would be used, (e.g. mold resistant drywall in the bathroom). The installation went well, the material showed up and the installers worked to the agreed schedule. The quality of the work is excellent and the ceiling paint and having the walls primed made finish painting a breeze. I would absolutely use McCloskey Drywall again and recommend their company to others
The bathroom windows were vinyl so they would match the woodwork. The ones in the kitchen were stained to match the woodwork in the kitchen and they were stained on site so they would match the surrounds perfectly. The windows are very easy to clean. We clean them from the inside so there is no more climbing on the ladder
THE WORK ARRANGED FOR AND PERFORMED BY CRAFTSMAN MET OR EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS IN EVERY REGARD. THE WORK WAS WITHIN THE COSTS ESTIMATED. THE WORKMEN WERE COURTEOUS AND COMPETENT. AFTER MANY BAD EXPERIENCES WITH CONTRACTORS, WE WERE SO PLEASED TO FIND SOMEONE WHO NOT ONLY DID THE WORK WE ASKED FOR BUT THOUGHT CREATIVELY ABOUT HOW TO DO IT, MAKE IT LOOK NICE AND BE FUNCTIONAL. IN ADDITION, THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I CAN REMEMBER (WE'VE BEEN REMODELING VARIOUS THINGS FOR 20 YEARS!) THAT THE CONTRACTORS DID GOOD WORK AND DID GOOD FINISHING WORK. THIS COMPANY RESPECTED OUR SCHEDULES AND WORKED HARD TO PLEASE US. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE
Explained that he couldn't replace the cartridge because it was too old. Replaced settings and springs and it appears to be working. If I need to replace valve, he told me what to buy to save on cost and minimize tile and Sheetrock work. Very friendly and helpful. Will use them again.
I honestly can't say enough good things about Snap Construction; they truly went above and beyond with their excellent customer service and their ability to work with my insurance company to make sure that everything went smoothly. After this past year's brutal winter, I found myself stuck with a leaking porch ceiling and a roof that was in desperate need of repair/replacing - this is where Snap came in. From my very first phone call, I was impressed with their customer service and their knowledge about the repairs that needed to be done. Jeremy showed up on time to our first appointment, and he took the time to not only explain things thoroughly and answer all of my questions, but he even caulked up a gap in one of my window wrappings. Once Jeremy had outlined everything that needed to be done, he got to work communicating with my insurance company and making things as easy as possible on my end. Throughout the whole process, all that I had to do was to call the insurance company to schedule that initial adjustment; Jeremy took care of everything from there. When the insurance adjustor came to assess the damage to the roof, Jeremy met him at the house and ensured that everything that could be covered by insurance was, indeed, covered. Jeremy made sure that the insurance company did not slow down my claim, and he regularly communicated with them - even when the insurance company was being difficult to work with. When it came time to do the actual work on the roof, Jeremy and his crew were AWESOME! They showed up on time and worked hard the entire day to ensure that the roof was basically finished by the time I got home. Ultimately, it took two days to finish the roof because the entire house needed to be re-decked (Jeremy managed to get all of this additional work covered by insurance). The whole process was extremely easy, and the builders were incredibly conscientious of both my house and my schedule. Once the work was finished, they cleaned up everything - and I mean everything. Apart from the new roof, there was no sign that the work crew had even been at the house. They worked quickly and efficiently, and their work is absolutely amazing. The roof looks and works like a dream! If anybody needs any work done on their house, I would absolutely recommend Snap (and Jeremy). Their work is outstanding, their customer service in top-notch, and they really do go above and beyond to ensure that the whole process goes as smoothly as possible. I am thrilled to have found Snap, and I know that I will call them for any future work that I need done on the house
Excellent workmanship. These guys were prompt, took pride in their work, and provided great communication. John provided solid recommendations and I'm thankful I went with them. I'll certainly be hiring these guys again! Don't take a chance on tile work - hire these guys to have it done right the 1st time
Todd is amazing. He came to give me an estimate and found the leaky window in my basement that was causing cold air to be the problem for my kitchen sink/plumbing. He suggested I caulk myself and was so pleasant. It was totally free and they did not need to do anything. I offered to pay him for his time and expertise, he said NO. So great to have a company like this. Believe me, if I ever need some real work done, they are the people I would hire!
Sela worked well with our insurance carrier. The were on time. Their workmen were respectful and did a great job on the clean up including all debris and nails. We would definitely use them again.
Sandau Construction recently completed a window replacement project at my home. They were one of five contractors that I had out to evaluate my project and bid the job. The sales presentation was low pressure, comfortable and offered adequate time for question and answer. The company’s subsequent follow-up to the various questions and issues that I had was prompt, direct and informative. They never tried to “sell” me anything and focused solely on my desires and priorities. Their overall project pricing was competitive overall, versus the other contractors who visited. Pricing was clear and upfront and included no promotional games or gimmicks. With any major home improvement, one doesn’t want to overpay just to ensure quality. The Sandau Price to Quality dynamic was right where it needed to be. Given the high home improvement demand that has been experienced during the pandemic, along with supply chain issues, there was a very lengthy delay from the project down payment to the actual commencement of the job. Once underway, the project installation proceeded quickly. Installers were skilled, agreeable and proceeded in an efficient manner. The final results exceeded expectations. As window replacement is a major investment and expense for any homeowner, getting that all important comfort level from the contractor you’ve chosen is critical. I felt good with my initial selection and was also rewarded at the project’s conclusion. I highly recommend the company to anyone who is interested in a high quality experience in sales, service and product offering. Thanks both to Graham in Sales and to Stephen my Project Manager. Well done
Three different options for insulating my attic were explained to me and a estimate was emailed to me in a timely manner. The work was done exactly as the quote stated and for a fair price you could tell they take pride in there work.
Absolutely a fantastic experience. Installers worked had and fast and cleaned up after work was completed. Finisher was very courteous and did a great job. He also left the area better than it was when he came. Highly recommend.
Mike was quick to respond. Entire job was started immediately the next day after I accepted the estimate. Mike cleaned up all the dust right after installing the drywall, which minimized any dust in the house. Rick started on the taping the next business day on Monday, then plastered, and did a knockdown finish on the ceiling. The job was completed by the end of the week. Everything was cleaned up each day, and they did an excellent job
Isaac was very responsive and gave a great quote. The final product looks amazing and he has minimal sanding required, which kept our basement items clean of dust! He is one of the best I have used and I will continue to use him on all future projects
All work was performed as described and in a timely manner. I cannot say enough good things about Pain in the Glass. The guys who performed the work was so very respectful of my property. They handled everything with care. The work they done was amazing. They did such a great job that I have made another appointment to have windows replaced that I was going to wait for. Do not bother with other big companies that will charge you an arm and a leg. Call Pain in the glass and get great quality work done at half the cost
