Granite Top LLC

I had granite countertops installed by another company about 3 years ago. They did not do a good job of installing the countertop. The seam in the counter top broke and one side was lower than the other. I did not want to use the original company for the repairs. I called a few installers however; I was told they were not interested in fixing this problem. My last call was to this company. Within two days of my call, the owner was at my house and looked at my counter top and he had an employee come to my home a few hours later to fix the seam. The employee was very professional and explained everything to me and did a great job of repairing the seam. If I ever need another countertop again this company will be my only call

Had three windows in need of repair. Brick molding rotting. Otherwise windows in acceptable condition. Was given estimate on replacement versus repair. Opted to go with repair. Brick molding removed and new brick molding replaced (painted at no additional charge). Also, sills (rotting) removed and replaced. Windows look and operate great. While repairing windows found siding section on roof that was rotting due to moisture and replaced at nominal charge. Bathroom work looks and works great. Also thought price was "spot on"

Had several issues with workmanship and quality during install, such as painting cabinet doors while they were leaning against painted walls and use of caulk to fill gaps in woodwork. Most were dealt with. Started having issues with a cabinet drawer last summer, owner came out and looked, saying he would fix it. That was over 12 months ago, actually had a date set up for repair, had someone stay at house, no one ever showed up or called with an explanation. We have left messages on numerous occasions and have gotten no response

They gave us an estimate, after bring in a sketch of our counter tops. We payed them half up front, and half when they finished. The price was very good, and we compared the price with other companies in the area (6 or 7). They did great work. After they left though, some of the caulking needed some repair. They came back out really quick after I called, and fixed the minor issue. They cleaned up well, and did not leave any messes. We were very pleased with them. This was my first time using this company, and I would highly recommend them. They gave me a free stainless steel sink as well

Johnny Thomas and Sara (the office manager) together have a great team of people. Friendly, prompt and punctual, great communication, and very candid in their suggestions and honest in their dealings. They are precise in explanations, they understand what you are trying to get done, have practical advice and great insight into the work that needs to be done. We worked with various teams on the different small projects around the house, and we had no complaints at all. They gave us accurate estimates, precise records of the project description, changes to dollar amounts and services. Not only were the teams skilled and knowledgeable, they were very friendly, respectful and attentive both towards people and their work. We HIGHLY recommend working with John Thomas on all small and large projects for your home
Could not have gone smoother. They kept us informed and delivered on every promise. These are the people you want working for you when quality is important to you. TOP NOTCH!!!!!!
I ordered the wrong size countertop and in reality, it needs to be custom made. Ben discussed options, provided measurements and assured me he would work me in to get it installed before Thanksgiving. He prepped the wall where the entertainment center was, and will be back to sand and prepare surface for painting, install new baseboard, etc. We also ran into surprises with the entertainment center and Ben proposed options. Ben was very professional, flexible and helpful. He cleaned up after project, including hauling away debris. We will definitely call Handy Rite for additional projects, and recommend them to friends and family
High quality workmanship by all members of the Country Creek team from designing to framing, tile work to painting. Dan designed and coordinated everything, the schedule ran extremely smooth. The subcontactors were highly skilled and professional, and CC allowed us to use our own electrical contractor, as he is a friend of ours. We were amazed at how quickly the project progressed, even dealing with some unanticipated water damage. We felt confident in Dan's son, Dave, who found the root of the problem and repaired the damage so it wouldn't happen again. Dan, Dave, Dan, and Jesus are all highly competent and efficient. Dave is especially creative in framing and trying to incorporate design elements into hiding venting in the lower level ceiling, and with executing arches and curves into the design. The team was timely, kept the site neat, professional, personable, and trustworthy. The stonework, tiling, woodwork, everything turned out beautifully. No project this big is without its bumps, however it's not the bumps, it's how they are handled. It was clear that they highly value customer satisfaction. We are so pleased with the final results
The owner of Above All Tile and one, John Shar, did three projects for me in my 1930s era home: replaced the original tile in my main entryway; regrouted the tile in a bathroom; and tiled my fireplace. The entryway project was pretty straightforward except that the subfloor had a hump in it and the door jamb was not parallel to the floor. These unexpected issues were addressed at no additional cost and the floor turned out great. The bathroom regrouting required removal and replacement of what was probably the original grout. Some of the grout lines were so thin that it was really challenging to remove it. John worked from about 9:30 in the morning until about 8 at night to get the first phase of the project done. I had selected a grout color; however, John suggested that I reconsider at use a greyer shade of white in order to better match some existing grout. He took his suggestion and as a result, you cannot tell the newly grouted area from the original. The fireplace was a much more complicated project. The hearth was replaced, and this required that the old oak that “framed” the hearth over the oak floor be replaced with a thicker, tapered frame that John had to construct. It looks great. The fireplace surround had been brick. This was tiled over using a hand-made porcelain tile. However, it was extremely complicated to lay out because I wanted the all the tiles to have a vertical orientation and I did not want to have any of then cut. Among other things, this required that John frame in the outer perimeter of the surround with wood and the inner perimeter with plain black tile. The results are gorgeous! John showed himself to be a craftsman with great problem-solving abilities, artistic sensibilities, and a tremendous can-do attitude. His prices were very fair. I recommend Above All without hesitation
Home Transformations did an excellent job for us. They finished our project on a very tight timeframe. They were very professional and punctual and the quality of their work exceeded our expectations. The workers were very friendly and easy to work with. The repainted kitchen cabinets look brand new
Both countertops look great. The contractor made an error ordering the trim piece for the bathroom countertop, but addressed the issue by ordering new pieces with no additional cost to me. Most importantly, the contractor did an excellent job standing up for me when the manufacturer made two different production errors. The manufacturer made a dimensional error with one section of the kitchen countertop on the first order, and later, they constructed the countertop using the wrong color selection. Both times the contractor saw to it that the errors were fixed and I ended up with the countertop I wanted
It does look nice. The tech was wonderful. He was nice and pleasant. He said he couldn't do anything else about it and I'm not sure if someone could have done better but there is a lump in one of the areas because the tiles underneath were broken. They had to seal the tiles so there is a hump, it's not smooth, in an area of the floor. Some of the surface finishing started coming off. I was seeing white spots all over the place. Some were bigger than others. It was like the coating was coming off. The first time it happened was before the painters. The second time, they blamed the painters with their ladders. To me, if you do something, it should be able to take wear and tear but they weren't going to do it. The tech was always very nice but the owner was not always nice. Then the second bathroom started showing these little things too. They weren't going to fix the second bathroom because they were blaming the painters. I offered to pay to have it repaired but the owner said the tech would do it. Owner said I should have told him before they come over. I tried to tell him but the owner wasn't listening to what I was telling him. For the most part, the job looks very, very nice but I would not use them again because of the owner. They did fix both floors without extra cost. He did call later on and apologized
Mark with Ruffner Remodeling was wonderful to work with. Redoing the bathroom in my St. Louis Park home was something I planned for a long time. I had quotes and in-home consultations with three different contractors. I was comfortable with Mark immediately. During the entire process he was upfront, straightforward, flexible and kind. The entire bathroom was gutted and redone with the exception of keeping the old tub. The window was also removed and a new (different size and spot) window was flawlessly installed. Mark gave detail to my exact hopes for the end look. It’s been about a year since the bathroom was completed and I couldn’t be more pleased. The fixtures, flooring, and tile all turned out exactly as I hoped. Mark (& Matt) were wonderful to work with and have in my home during the summer remodel, it’s definitely worth you time to consider Mark for your next project
Excellent repair! The tub looked brand new! The hole in the side of my tub was not only covered it was meshed and the wall was reinforced. Matt was polite and explained the various steps involved in the restoration. Plus he was done within three hours.
We were very pleased with the service and quality we received from Dan Brown the owner of Restore Floors and More. Dan was subcontracted to install wood flooring, bathroom tile, bedroom carpet and a back splash for our condo after fire damage. The general contracting company was completely disorganized and yet Dan was patient through the whole process. He is obviously very knowledgeable about flooring. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dan and his crew
I had this work done a while ago. I sometimes think you should wait a while before reviewing someone to see how the work holds out. I couldn't have been more pleased with this contractor's work. He arrived promptly and didn't push to upsell. He worked quietly and quickly. I am so very happy with the way my tub looks. My only suggestion would be to consider options to prevent the tub bottom from being slippery if you use it for a shower
Our experience has been that Simply Beautiful Remodeling does only the highest quality work. We have hired many various contractors over the years for many different projects and have learned the value of not going with necessarily the very cheapest, but of doing our homework and going with the contractor who has a solid reputation of quality work. In the long run, it always saves money because we aren't having to go back and waste money fixing what wasn't done well the first time. Simply Beautiful is one of those rare contractors that you know you can trust to perform high quality work at a fair price. We would never hesitate to use them again
We were very impressed with Oleg and his crew. They always showed up around the time they mentioned and worked hard while at our house. There was usually a crew of 2 or 3 and we were impressed by the quality of the work as well as how quickly they finished our projects. They gave us a few suggestions with our tile projects to improve the look even more and we took the suggestions (thanks!). They also gave us advice on wall paint color and our vanity (above and beyond). We went on vacation and they finished the shower while we were gone. This is our first time using Angie's List we were very pleased with their work and hope to be able to hire them again at some point. Thank you for a job well done!
Joseph is very detailed, trustworthy and thorough. I had new appliances delivered on the 23 of Dec last year and the refrigerator was taller then anticipated and in order for it to not be in the center of my kitchen for Christmas Eve the cabinetry needed to be notified and joseph came to my rescue. He has done other projects for me and I have yet to be disappointed. I will continue to find projects for him and would highly recommend hiring Joseph for your projects!
I am so very happy with my new bathroom and linen closet thanks to Tim and Colton from Handyman Connection! My bathroom had a leak that was not visible (had been leaking for some time). The floor and walls were heavily damaged. The work to be done was a complete remodel and repair of the bathroom and an update to the linen closet. The bathroom had to be gutted to put in a new floor and walls (there was mold in the walls). My contractor, Tim, always stressed my safety first. He remediated the mold and removed the terribly damaged walls and floor. He always made me comfortable that I wasn’t in danger of getting ill from the damage in the bathroom, making sure that the issues were handled immediately. During the remodel of the bathroom and linen closet, Tim and his apprentice Colton prepared the areas including laying down sheeting to make sure the floors in my house were not damaged or made dirty. I support the process of apprenticeship for companies to grow experience by hands on learning and am happy that Handyman Connection does this. Tim’s vast experience and his patience in explaining not only what had to be done and how to do it but also why it was being done make him a great teacher and Colton has an innate skill and learns quickly. When they finished for the day, they wrapped up everything and made sure the house was clean and in order. I had part of the garage ready for the replacement tub, vanity, shower/tub surround, etc. Tim always asked if he could keep items in the garage before leaving anything – I expected remodeling tools, equipment and product would be in the garage, but Tim always asked. Tim got it quickly that I liked more of a heads up when they were coming to work on my house, so even though I got the email that they were coming, Tim would text me to give me an hour notice that they were coming. And they were always at my house at the hour. The bathroom floor is now rock solid (before it was spongy, I didn’t realize how bad it was because I had lived with it so long). The tub and surrounds are much safer and attractive than the old tub and tiles. We collaborated on the new fixtures and in addition to replacing the tub, window, vanity, lighting, and other fixtures, I also got items that I hadn’t had before – a medicine cabinet and ceiling vent. The mirror was repainted to match the vanity. The walls were repaired and have clean lines, were painted, the popcorn ceiling is now smooth. The linen closet is so wonderful! It used to have unfinished particle board shelves that bowed in the middle. Tim created new shelving that has finished edges that look so upscale! The closet got a new floor, painted and a new access panel into the bathtub hardware. My bathroom is amazing! First and most importantly, Tim made it safe removing the mold and replacing the damaged floor and walls. Second, Tim and Colton made it functional. I don’t worry about the electricity or plumbing (no leaks now!). Third, Tim and Colton made it beautiful. It looks like it was pulled from a magazine it is so beautiful. Not only the repairs, installations, updating but beautiful finishing touches on the baseboards, window, and walls have elevated the beauty of my bathroom. Throughout the process, they were professional, respectful, always explaining where they were in the process and including me. It was great to see the progress every day. It takes more than just ability to get results this wonderful. It takes caring and commitment to your customer. I appreciate and value the experience that I received from Handyman Connection and am looking forward to the next project (remodeling living room, bedroom, front entry) which has already been estimated and soon to be scheduled! I highly recommend Handyman Connection

Upon arriving, Dan immediately examined the damaged area, fixed it on the spot and gave us DIY tips in case it happens again. He refused payment for either the trip or the repair. Great guy! Highly recommend!
