30% OVER ESTIMATE (OFFERED TO BRING HOURLY RATE DOWN TO REDUCE BILL, BUT I REFUSED). BUT UNCOVERED MORE ROTTING WOOD, PORCH WALLS IN WORSE CONDITION THAN WAS ESTIMATED.

Handyman Connection of Eden Prairie
Started off with minor repairs. Then decided to do other services, Reframing bathroom door with the cheapest cra ever- still a 1 inch gap. Replaced ceiling drywall-as in tacking up a block - no setting or finishing edges. Baseboard in bed room- no bevels, corner point gaps filled with caulk. Nice job installing Styrofoam ceiling- but took them days- not hours. Metallic paint in bedroom applied wrong so tacky surface texture and had to redo spots just not done. Finally installed a door by caulking it on- seriously. When I finally realized what clowns they were it cost me thousands in re-do cost

ERIC'S HANDYMAN SERVICE
Great job as always! Eric has helped us out many times. He is prompt, thorough, and knowledgable. He made some suggestions for better ways to put up the ceiling tile and vent, and then carried them out

Jim's Small Stuff Handyman Service
I WAS FRUSTRATED WITH THE FACT THAT HE DID NOT COME OUT FOR AN ESTIMATE, BUT ASKED ABOUT THE TASKS BEFORE HE CAME. WHEN HE GOT HERE, HE WASN'T INTERESTED IN REPLACING PORCH SCREENS OR BASEMENT CEILING TILES. I ONLY GOT 15% OF THE WORK DONE.

CADY HANDYMAN SERVICES
Called on a Wednesday and handyman was over on following Monday, finished up work that Thursday. Did good quality work. I have to say, I was a bit disappointed with the hourly rate of $81.50, particularly for a job our size (no volume discount). This is the same as I paid a master electrician for some other work a few weeks ago. I guess I was envisioning a handyman doing work for somewhere around $50/hour. Shame on me for not asking and not seeking competitive bids, but we're in the end stages of getting the house ready for market so I didn't have the luxury of time to shop around. Cady is rated highly on Angie's List and they do a great job, just be aware you'll pay for it

I had hired a contractor to help remodel a duplex. After a bad experience I started working with Dahl Mechanical. John and his team have done miracles. Open doorways and adjusted sinks for a handicapped client. They installed an automatic door as well. Some of the work John did included, hanging new light fixtures, installing ceiling fans, installing new flooring, installing tile, installing sink and sink fixtures. They updated a wooden ramp to make it more accessible and safe. Looked at my furnace, made an upgrade to my wiring, did cement work and even fixed the running toilets. John's knowledge has been a wonderful resource and they are always dependable, trustworthy and quick! I will continue to use his services and would hire them again and again

All work was performed as described and in a timely manner. Ben informed us before starting the ceiling work that it wouldn't be 'perfect' if the entire grid was not replaced as well, but we were okay with that and appreciated the heads up. The bathroom door that we had replaced was a typical hollow door. It was not pre-hung in a frame and it did not have the hole drilled for the doorknob. We stained the door the night before and he installed it perfectly! We will definitely use Ben again for projects around the house

I used Nicely Dunn on two occasions prior to putting my house on the market. Once for molding/quarter-round install, and again for kitchen tile. I would use them again in a heartbeat due to the professionalism and high-quality workmanship.

It went well. I had tried this job previously and did not trust my knowledge to do it right. Provider knew what to do and did it. I was able to watch and learn and occasionally assist. I really appreciate the care provider exhibited in keeping work area clean. Provider was clearly knowledgeable, was punctual, and did the job within the pre-paid time block. I am completely satisfied

We had hired Steve to do some general handy work from an Angie's deal. We liked him a lot, he was responsive and did good work. He mentioned he did tile work and we wanted to support him so we asked him if he wanted to do 2 rooms, our kitchen and upstairs bathroom. He said he did. I should have recognized that we might have problems because it took several calls to get the measurement done and to schedule a time for the work to be done. But, again, because we like Steve, we were patient and probably waited 6 weeks to get it all set up. He began the work on Monday AM, 6-2 and was done on Saturday, 6-7. I had thought it would take 2 to 2 1/2 days. I can't tell you how disappointed we are with the way everything was done and the end results. The tile looks ok. But, I cannot begin to list the many little things that were not done well or correctly. I am not sure what the issue is - it may be that Steve is overextended and could not dedicate his attention to the work - or it just may be that he is not detail oriented. For example - he took the door off the bathroom and needed to shorten it - but he cut about an inch off the top of the door instead of the bottom. I can see how that might happen but he should have marked the top and bottom before removing it. Instead of telling us what had happened he glued the top back on and hung the door back up. In fairness, Steve has now replaced the door after we purchased a new one - but we had to identify the problem. The woodwork in the bathroom was removed and when replaced it is very chipped and visibly not right. In the kitchen, the woodwork was not removed at all - the tile is installed right up to the woodwork which means that if we ever want to replace the woodwork we will have to remove the tile. The grout in the kitchen is cracking and coming up in the following week. The air vent in the bathroom was not put back securely and, because of the way the tile was laid, it appears that we will have to have a section of the new tile taken up and replaced so that the vent hole does not show in front of the vent. Other woodwork in the kitchen was broken and Steve did replace that. Also, we have a counter in the kitchen that is supported on one side by a leg. Because the level of the kitchen floor was being raised by the tile installation, the leg would have to be shortened. I had advised Steve to remove the leg and take the 1/2 inch that needed to be removed from the top. Initially, he just lifted the counter up before the tile was grouted, and put it back on the tile. The counter was clearly bent upward as a result. So, I told him again to cut 1/2 inch from the leg and that it would be necessary to remove the leg and take the 1/2 inch from the top. I found him on his hands and knees with a hand saw trying to cut the 1/2 inch from the bottom while the leg was still attached. He said he thought the counter would fall if he removed the leg but, he never mentioned that when we talked about the problem. I feel badly writing this review because I genuinely like Steve, but we are very big proponents of Angie's List and I would hate for someone to hire him based on our previous excellent review and feel it is only honest to let others know what occurred during this event. I think that there is general thoughtlessness on Steve's part and a lack of care for the home. We hired this work done because we are trying to improve our home - the work he did has caused us additional work and expense. The quality is extremely disappointing and, where we should be excited and gratified that this work was done, we are disappointed. We could have hired a professional to do the work (and I believe for about the same cost), but we wanted to support a small business owner in general and frankly, Steve in particular. We will be much more careful in the future

Duneman Handyman Service
Scott is the owner of his service and has done all the repairs himself. We learned of him through the Angie's referral line. When I called him for information he told me that he charges a flat hourly rate. I explained that we needed repairs done on our home to prepare it for showings. He gave us a time frame of when he would next be available. We set up a date and time. The next day he called and said he had a cancellation and asked if we would like him to start the work early. We had a list of things we needed done. A couple of the items we needed were large and needed to be picked up. Scott said that he would stop and pick up those items and haul them in his truck back to our house. He worked fast and cleaned up each area after he was done. He was able to make suggestions on the best way to repair things while staying in our budget. The work he did was very professionally done. After our Realtor came through he gave us another list of suggestions to upgrade our house. We had been so pleased with the work from the week before we asked Scott to return to help us with the additional items. Once again we got the same great service that we had seen before. I would not hesitate to call him out for any thing else that would come up before our home sells. My only regret is that we are moving out of state and I don't think Scott will be willing to "visit" us in our new home!

jay and Crew did a great job. Easy to schedule project communicate answered questions about other potential priojects. i will use them again. thanks
B &R were really great to work with. Offered suggestions, reasonable cost, followed up daily to check progress. Subs were on time, neat, pleasant to work with, experts in their craft. Projects completed on time. LOVE what they did!
Jamie of JGF Remodeling is absolutely wonderful. We put the project out for bids, we got 3 bids, Jamie came in lower than the others which was expected because he was charging labor alone, we would buy the material, we went to the tile outlet and he came with us and we used his discount and bought tiles, electrical outlets and a tub all through his discount. He then showed up and totally transformed the old non-functional bathroom in a work of art in 4-5 days. He is one of the friendliest, most thorough contractor that I have ever worked with
Everything went very well. Rob and Jesse were friendly and detail oriented. Jesse did the majority of the work with Rob taking care of the finishing touches. Jesse was very accommodating to any request I had and if he had ideas would run them past me to see what I thought. He is as good as they get. Rob has an eye for detail and made this as easy as possible with such a large job. Very accommodating and decent turnaround. A couple of things that I would call out is that we went with a baseboard that that has been bowing. I know nothing about these things so I wish I would have been informed that this was a possibility as I would have went a different direction. Rob did come out and attempt to fix the issue but the same issue happened within a couple months. I also had a leak in a back room that they made 98% better but not 100%. He did tell me that without doing a HUGE job that this was possible but I was informed after that if we replaced the back door it would probably take care of the issue. Another thing I wish I would have known when they were doing the work as I probably would have had them take care of it. The price quote I got for that job was pretty intense so we will go a different direction with the service. Lastly, this is not something that Rob and Jesse took care of but the electrician (Sam) that they work with did a ton of electrical work and everything has worked great besides for one of the lights that they did not fix hasn't worked since the work was done and the other one in the same room is very touchy. I did contact Rob about this and he gave me the electricians information but I didn't have any contact with the electrician while the work was getting done, Rob took care of that completely, so I didn't feel comfortable contacting them and didn't want to get charged having him come out to fix the issue. I just wish Rob would have taken care of getting it scheduled as he did with the job. These are fairly minor details with as huge as the job was and the great work in general that was provided. I would hire this team 100 times over again
I ended up having more painting done than originally thought. NewDay did a great job overall and their quality was exceptional. They found things to fix on walls I initially did not see so the finished product looks better. Very pleasant guys to work with and you can tell they love their jobs!
Excellent! We had an electrician wire our master bedroom for a light and ceiling fan (cathedral ceiling) and 2 other bedrooms. We had a 2.5 x 2.5 foot hole in the ceiling which needed insulation and drywall repair. Pat was recommended by a friend and his estimate was the lowest of 4 that we received. He did a beautiful job with the ceiling; the texture and color match perfectly. We wanted to paint the rooms on our main floor (kitchen, living rooms, and entry, hallway) but the drywall needed repair throughout these rooms (tape and nail pops, cracks in walls). Pat made the repairs and skim coated where needed. After Pat started the job, I started removing wall paper from the kitchen and realized the poor condition of the walls so he also removed the wall paper I couldn't get to and made repairs and skim coated the kitchen walls. He was very professional, punctual, personable, and his price was very reasonabl
BOB IS VERY ETHICAL, CONSCIENTIOUS, PERFORMS QUALITY WORK AND PROVIDED PRACTICAL IDEAS WHICH IMPROVED THE OUTCOME OF THE REMODELING PROJECT. WHEN CABINETS DIDN'T ARRIVE, BOB ADJUSTED HIS SCHEDULE TO ACCOMMODATE OUR PROJECT. VERY DEPENDABLE. WORKS HARD TO GET TASKS DONE EFFICIENTLY AND CORRECTLY. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM AND PLAN TO REHIRE HIM FOR FUTURE PROJECTS
The experience from start to finish was wonderful! Dave responded to my phone call the same day. He was able to stop by my house and provide an estimate within 2 days. I knew I wanted crown molding installed, but I had no idea how many types there were. He gave me good feedback on what would look best in my home. He shopped around and got a good price for the materials. He painted the crown molding and had it installed within a week. I'd definitely hire him again
As previously stated they moved everything out of my office...including a sound system that had to be dismantled and a large three section desk, two person recliner recliner, and a large book case. They arrived on time..worked efficiently and were very careful not to bang my walls or wooldwork. When the flooring was installed they returned and put it all back together. Again, they arrived on time and did an excellent job. They are by far the best team I have ever hired to do these types of jobs. I will call them again
He was very prompt and talked about all the work he would be doing. He met my timeline. The tile works was awesome and I love the in-floor heating! I would definitely go with them again on my next project.
Sergio's workman arrived on time and set about carefully removing the top rail of a second story porch which had wood rot on the ends. They were very careful to do so without damaging my garden, beneath their ladders. Once they had removed the rail it was apparent that some of the spindles were also rotten. They actually used the the solid part of the removed rail to create new spindles, saving time, and not wasting something that was clearly usable. When they left, I felt that the job was complete and was very satisfied with their work. That said, Sergio showed up shortly there after to check that everything was done as promised. He sanded the new work and made sure everything was ready for paint. He also fixed a drain in my bathroom! Yikes! Totally saved me from calling a plumber! I would absolutely call them again! They are thorough, careful, fairly priced ( their bid was less than half of another bid I had received, which had said that the job would take 2 men 2/3 of a day. In actuality, it took 2 men an hour and a half, 2 hrs if you consider Sergio's time) BIG, BIG THUMBS UP!!!

What do customers in Saint Paul say about Acoustic Ceiling Installation?
Daniel did work on approximately 4,000 sf of office space hanging drywall, taping & mudding, hanging interior doors, framing, installing tile grid and ceiling tiles along with a ton of oddball projects. He does an excellent job, very reasonably priced, and gets deadlines done when needed. Recommended all around.
