Reviews in St Louis to Replace or Repair Grout

They did good work, it just didn't work out for us, they did some grout refurbishment in our kitchen but our sub-floor underneath had too much movement. So the new grout popped up, but that wasn't their issue. They did good service for what they did, but long term it didn't work out for us because we had other issues. We ended up having the floor replaced, and we were happy with the work they did and it looked great, and the issue with our floor was not their fault. Their customer service is really good and they're really good on explaining things and their pricing and stuff. They were good about calling me back. They were a pretty good company for what they did.

When I initially called John to schedule this work, he told me someone would be able to come out the next morning. I was surprised, but very pleased. The contractor who came was named Ron. He was punctual and professional. He took the time to understand from me exactly what it was I wanted to have done, and also agreed on the spot to take the time to do some extra things that I hadn't originally asked for over the phone. Incidentally, the paint that we had wouldn't bond correctly at first with the baseboard, so Ron had to put on 4 coats in some spots. He took the time necessary to make sure that it was done correctly. At no point did I feel that he rushed through anything, and he made sure it was done to my satisfaction before he left, which it was. He also left the work area completely clean. If this is how all of their employees operate, I would certainly recommend JP Frisch.

Matthew did a great job at a reasonable price. Although the original job was to remove and replace grout, we discovered that the past owner had tiled over old tile so that the only thing keeping the "new" tile in place was the grout... and it kept cracking and breaking because the tile was moving when we walked on it. Matthew recommended some solutions and when we decided on having him install a new floating tile floor, he even met us at the store to make sure we got the right materials for the job since we told him we were not sure what we should be buying.

I had a really unpleasant experience with this company. The work they completed will now have to be completely redone by another contractor. Owner was unreasonable when we tried to discuss our concerns, despite the work being undeniably incomplete and poor craftsmanship. We tried to negotiate a price, but Mr. Frisch was unwilling to reach a compromise at all. Only until we put a hold on the check, while continuing to communicate with him, did he agree to have his worker come out to fix the poor job he had done at half his regular rate. We requested a different employee to re-do the job, but he absolutely refused. When we told him we did not want his company to do anymore work if he would not send a different employee, he text me and said that he would ?be forced to file a mechanics lien against your property.? Despite meeting for about 30 minutes with Mr. Frisch while getting an estimate, and discussing the problem areas that needed repair in my bathroom, the worker showed up with NO supplies (supplies were grout and clear caulk). I would assume (and in my past experience) a reputable company would have these supplies on hand - I agreed to pay for supplies, but did not realize I would have to pay $60 for the worker to go to Home Depot to purchase them. Mr. Frisch claimed he encouraged me to purchase the supplies before the job, but no such conversation ever took place. I purchased grout, which after the man began to use, was obvious it was much too dark. The worker and I discussed that a light sand grout was needed, and he then went to the store to purchase it. I assumed he knew what he was doing, and so did not check the new grout color he purchased. He bought DARK gray grout. It looks HORRIBLE. I can't believe he didn't stop to show me, but he completed the job in the dark grout. He then told me he could he fix it, but I would have to pay for the time to purchase the additional supplies AND the time for him to remove the grout and then to regrout (and this is after I already paid $60 for him to get the wrong supplies, and another $60 to do the original grout work!). He also was to mud an area of the drywall. That is a disaster- it clearly needed another coat of mud, but after talking to the owner he said it didn't. The owner argued with me that I said I would sand to complete the job - I did agree to sand, but this clearly needed a 2nd layer of mud, and the owner argued that it was complete and done correctly. I certainly didn't agree to apply another coat of mud myself. There were many obvious spots of the drywall that weren't repaired at all. If you read through the reviews he has many ?A?s and happy customers, but it seems that the majority of the jobs which he is receiving positive reviews for are for hanging curtain rods, installing ceiling fans, etc. ? very small handy man type jobs, mostly by people who bought his frequently running coupon. But, there are multiple reviews that follow along the same lines as mine. I now have learned to filter my review of a company by the negative reviews before hiring a company. Our work involved mud and grout work, maybe sticking with the small jobs with this company is best, if you choose to deal with them at all. Now all dry wall cracks, seam breaks have reappeared. The owner did negotiate the price (AFTER we put a hold on the check- before that he told us he was not going to "lose money on this job.") Now, everyday that I use my bathroom, I am completely aggravated that I paid $240 for nothing, all the work has to be completely redone- so, I will still have to pay someone else to come in and fix what they did. I wish I never called them, complete waste of time and money.

Estimates were written, detailed, and accurate. Work was done on schedule and was well done. Halls and floors were protected and cleanup was excellent. Only contractor of three who thought that he could actually do the repair without replacing all tile around tub. Repair was successful; no more leaks.

Bought 3 hours of caulk/grout work for $139. told owner I needed bathroom shower caulked and kitchen floor grouted cause it's dirty. He said ok. Worker came and after 3 hours said it's gonna take longer. Two hours later worker said he had to leave and left leaving me to finish job. I tried but I'm not a professional. A day later the grout was coming up off the floor not only in area that I did but also in area that the worker did. I called the owner and he said he'd make it right. Worker came out and spent an adl' 4 hours fixing and repairing grout in kitchen. When he was done he asked me if payment was due. I said no - owner said he'd "make it right." Worker got owner on the phone and he billed me an adl' 4 hours of work. When I complained the ower told me I should have gotten a quote. I told him as owner it is his responsibility to give me a quote and I had one - the original Angie's list offer of $139 for 3 hours of work and I told him what I needed done. He gave me a "deal" by only charging me for 3 adl' hours of work instead of 4 for the last trip Summary: for $139 original price I ended up paying $150 more for the 3 hours extra work on the first day and another $100 for the next trip which was supposed to "make it right" and fix the errors made on the first trip. Very unprofessional business. I will not use the company again and will advise anyone and everyone to stay away from Beaty Home Improvement.

The guys did a great job.. it was tough I must admit. We purchased this house with the floor in the kitchen unsealed and pretty filthy. Scheduling online was very easy, and we even had to reschedule, which wasn't a problem. The guys that showed up were a little rough around the edges, but did a good job. The job ended up taking about twice as long as they had originally anticipated, because (we were told) that was because our grout was uneven and required more attention -- which wasn't surprising with the issues we've had else where in the home.

It went well, but I thought that regrouting would be included, even if an extra charge. I could have sworn i saw it in the ad.

My Kitchen tiles were extremely black. I actually forgot what color the grout were:) Any way Mike came in with his helper Jordan and they got to work immediately. They used a buffer/steamer to clean the grout. Mike took the time to explain that most of the grout may not be restored. It took them about hour and half to complete the job. The floor looks great! I am happy with the outcome.

Recent Review: This is a follow-up to a previous review in which I conveyed a poor experience. Ultrasteam followed up and addressed the situation to my satisfaction. The follow-up was much appreciated, they appear to have done a great job during this second visit. Paul and Ron came out in February to assess the problem areas of the original color seal areas. They hold firm to the assessment that the grout was in bad shape in those specific areas. They repaired the actual grout in the problem areas and re-applied color seal. Beyond that they cleaned the grout lines in the entire room and properly blended the color seal so that all grout lines are uniform. They went above and beyond today, time will tell on the durability for my particular experience but as I told Paul and Ron, I am perfectly happy to pay them for their time and services which extend beyond the scope of the original color seal job, which I believe repairing the actual grout was. They refused payment. I'm certainly happy with how the problem was (finally) handled, my only complaint was that it took a long time to get to this point. Ron and Paul both seem like gentleman who care about their work and the perception of their work by their customers. The visit today was very much appreciated. Based on their approach on the visit today and the conversations we had, I would consider hiring them in the future.

Recent Review: We recently moved into a new home and wanted to have the floors professionally cleaned. We initially only were scheduled to have the carpets cleaned but added Tile & Grout later. They were able to accommodate the additional request into the original appointment. The technician showed up within the specified time frame and was very professional. We were very happy with the results of the carpet and tile cleaning.

Recent Review: Outstanding. Nick was great. Efficient and detail oriented in his demo and tile work. Took out old toilet and disposed of all old materials. Laid backer board and tiled, grouted to match tile and added threshold. Tough job in a small space. Turned out better than I expected. Rick picked out the perfect tile. Rachel,Shari and Rich the owner are joys to work with. Can't say enough good about this company and their team. Highly recommend.

Recent Review: Fantastic job. Rhett was very professional, explained everything very clearly, and did a great job. I originally just planned on having the carpets cleaned but ended up having him also add a carpet protectant and clean the tile and grout in the kitchen and I'm very glad I did. With two large, messy dogs, and a cat, my carpets were in dire need. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Recent Review: Rod Garvin was responsive and arranged an appointment for the date & time that I requested. He arrived on time and worked quickly to clean two bathrooms containing ceramic tile floors that had grout in need of thorough cleaning and he applied a grout sealer to both floors. The grout had never been sealed in 20 years, so it was a challenge to get all the deep-down dirt out! He was able to clean the large amount of tile and grout in both bathrooms so well that they looked like new floors when he finished. He was polite, professional, and performed an outstanding job at a very reasonable price! I would definitely hire him again and highly recommend his services. While he was at my home, he was also very kind to agree to spray my new recliner with scotch-guard fabric protector for a nominal fee. This is the 3rd time that Rod Garvin has provided home services for us ~ he always displays genuine concern for our home needs and his work is always exceptional!

Recent Review: The basement carpeting which is about 20 years old came out looking like new! All the pet stains came up. The living room furniture is much improved. The grout between the kitchen floor tile got so much cleaner that I hardly recognize my floor! It looks wonderful. Chris was very nice. He explained everything he was doing and nice about working with any concerns that I had.

Recent Review: Jeff and Mike cleaned and sealed the grout perfectly. I am now bringing them back to clean my carpet. They are so much better than all the "big boys" who do all the fancy advertising.
