San Jose Tankless Water Heater Installation

1. Installed tankless water heater on a spot not at a proper clearance height. Failed inspection. Had to reinstall machine. 2. Installed tankless heater and water softener with 20 small pieces of (untreated) plywood to hold together. Of course pieces of cut plywood rot with time. 3. Over threaded pipe. Instead of replacing that damaged part, the worker left it untightened and gas leaked. I told Chandler that I smelled gas. He said I was probably smelling carbon monoxide that is released from the machine. I told him that I will call PG&E because the smell did not go away. Chandler's response was "I wouldn't do that if I were you." 4. There are currently about 50 holes on the sidings from all the "fixes" of the poorly installed systems. They are not going to repair that. 5. They installed "recirc" which another plumber (of Chandler's) said was wrong. He took it off and left my sink unhooked to plumbing and without water. I asked when this will be completed, Chandler's response is "leave me alone." and there is no more response. I am reporting this company to all organizations that can help this company do better and not hurt other home owners.

This company is an expert in Tankless Heaters and works with very competent contractors in the bay area. The work went very well and I am extremely pleased with my new tankless heater. Hot water is always available yet I am not having to heat it in a tank 24/7. Great convenience and great for the environment.

Our water heater ended its life by leaking all over our basement. We opted for a quick fix replacement, but the new size heaters didn't fit in our old house. All Star helped us make the decision to invest in a Rinnai tankless water heater without pushing a hard sell. They installed it over three days, but were careful to make sure we weren't without hot water for the duration. With the gvmt. rebate for this water heater the final cost will be half what we paid.

Water Heater Masters were top-notch! I called on a Saturday afternoon - they were available 9am Sunday morning to come and inspect and quote. They only had one guy working that day, but scheduled me for Monday morning between 8 and 9. At 8:15am I got a call with an ETA of 8:45, which was a really nice touch! Despite telling me it would take an entire day to install, they were done by 1pm. They also found some creative ways to do the install to avoid drilling through my stucco (for the exhaust vent and for the condensate run-off). Very professional and clean-looking install. These guys may not always be the cheapest around, and they recommended a top-of-the-line heater (which is what I really wanted anyway), but I'd much rather pay a little extra for that level of service and support. Thank you!

Cannot say enough great things about Francesco. Prompt, friendly, smart, knowledgeable, professional, fair, honest, and reasonable. What more can you ask? I wish I could give him more stars in this review. (Also even though he's listed in here for Vallejo, I know he does work also in East Bay (Oakland, Berkeley, etc.) and San Francisco. I hired him to fix a mess left by another plumbing company when they tried and failed to properly install tankless water heater at my home. After this first company screwed up, I talked with 5-8 other vendors to make sure not to repeat that mistake. Was very impressed when Francesco came out to give an estimate. He was very patient and frank/honest with me about realistic options (repairing the first plumber's mistake or starting over). Very knowledgeable and great problem solver. I was not disappointed when I hired him. Francesco has a really impressive work ethic. He has the technical knowledge and experience (unlike some of the other vendors who send out technicians who don't actually understand the mechanics / technology of tankless water heaters). Francesco takes pride in doing the work well, solving problems elegantly, and making sure his work looks good as well, even if it takes more effort. He was very conscientious of the budget/estimate and scheduling, and did an amazing quality work at a reasonable price. I know I will be calling him first for any plumbing job that I might need in the future.

I have used Skaates multiple times before at my previous house, for servicing a under floor hydronics heating systems. They have always been on time, courteous and performed a good job. After moving into our new house, we had a tankless water heater and the pressure in the main shower was terrible. I called Skaates and they recommended I try a few things by my self, but ultimately I asked for them to send someone around. The plumber cleaned out the tankless water heater filter, showed me how to do it next time!, fixed an upstairs shower regulator in the kids bedroom and solved the water pressure issues in the main shower. Highly recommended....
