San Jose Weather Stripping Installation

My experience with Richard and his work was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. He is a top notch professional in every way. He responded immediately to my request through Angie’s list. Scheduled me right away in between customers, and arrived on time. He worked quickly and efficiently while educating me on what he was doing. He also corrected the installation of a door plate that was originally done incorrectly. I look forward to calling him again when I need the services of a skilled, and personable professional!

They were very practical and great to work with. My home is nearly 100 years old and I was not interested in tearing it down. They told me what they could and could not do, and they made a big difference. My home has settled over the last century, so they sealed up the necessary places. They found a problem with how my heater was installed and they were able to fix that. There were some windows that needed to have a great deal of sealing on them, which makes them difficult to open and close, but I was happy with their solutions overall. They were here and did a lot of work, so I did not feel that I was overcharged in any way. One of my neighbors just told me that they spent a fortune on double-paned windows, but Advanced Home Energy was very honest with me about what I would be spending and what I would have gotten out of it. I appreciated their good advice. They were very congenial, and I was very impressed with them.

Eric and Matt are craftsman. The work they did with the crown molding was beautiful. The sheetrock repair on the ceiling and in a very difficult spot was flawless. They checked for any other damage which fortunately there was none. Eric was congenial and answered all my questions. His reputation is based on his skills and honesty. I would recommend Eric to anyone that would need any type of home repair.

Was recommended by neighbor via NextDoor. He was very responsive by email, was willing to help in short notice and gave a reasonable estimate. Showed up on time. Very professional and pleasant. Did work in a very efficient manner. Doing several things at once to minimize my cost and time. I found two other things that needed to be done but didn't have parts. Rather than bill me for time to go get the parts, he said he had to go to Home Depot anyway later that day and he would return to our place the next day. He didn't charge me anymore time than necessary and for all the jobs, it was only 1.5 h. Will definitely use his handyman service in the future. Very professional, very reasonable, punctual and honest.

Very professional and job well done. Chon went and bought the necessary n appropriate strips. He took the door down. He removed all peeling stripping from another contractor who did it only six months ago! Chon scrap cleaned the door tracks n completed the stripping around and underneath the front double door. He used clear silicon to cover all previous drill holes. The door is beautifully done. There is no more light or air coming through the front door and the stripping is no longer visible. I highly recommend Chon for the weather stripping of front doors.

Door sweep/weather stripping added to the front door appeared great. Upon use, I noted that the stripping was not tight against the door nearest the hinge side. Inspection uncovered that the two screws nearest the hinge side of the door were not actually screwed into the door at all. I had to drill a pilot hole through the stripping and the door, find a screw that fit and attach the back end of the stripping myself. The door sweep/weather stripping added to a door between the garage and the backyard had a very large gap to fill. Herb showed me, after performing the installation, that he was not able to make a solid seal because of a dip in the grading of the concrete AND the over 1 inch gap there to start with. I ran down to Home Depot and bought a roll of sponge rubber weather strip (under $5) and sealed the gap with no issue. Took 2 minutes, actually less. He measured the door and gap before going for his supply run and should have purchased what was needed to complete the job. Once he saw his plan did not work, he should have gone back to buy what was required to finish it right. The additional stripping is sponge and rubber and will eventually need replacing, but that's fine. It's maintenance. I tried the bathroom sink handle and it was tightened beautifully. I made the mistake of assuming the same for the sink faucet. After my discovery of the issue with the door sweep, I went to check all he had done, which is when I discovered the sink faucet had not been tightened at all. Herb was easy to reach by telephone and came precisely on time, but given the quality of the 'finished' work, pretty unimpressive overall. I think there's no doubt he has the skill to have completed each job successfully, but for whatever reason, he did not. I had to go behind each job and finish it properly. I'm a bookkeeper not a handyman/woman, that's why my sink needed attention to begin with. What's the point of hiring a professional if I have to get on my hands and knees. That's what I wanted to avoid. Price would have been fair had the jobs been actually finished.

I went with Affordable Remodeling Solutions for this project, and they subbed out to Michael for the installation of my double french doors. I can't say enough about how professional and thoughtful he was. Of course this was an exterior door, it was the end of Nov, and all the beautiful warm weather was the week before. He made sure that time from the removal of the old door and the installation of the new door was as brief as possible. He was very thorough and didn't mind me standing there and asking questions, while he worked, and was completely willing to do go the additional mile to make her completely happy with the install and finishing work. He takes pride in what he does, good work - and it totally shows in the end result. This was a two day project, and he was determined to have the old door removed and new on installed in one day - and then did the painting and finishing on the second (half) day. He was also very conscious of his clean up, as I have 2 dogs, a cat, and a small child running around. I couldn't be happier with the install, and would totally recommend and use Michael again for a future project.

He is an authorized Andersen door/window repairman. Charges 175 dollars and hour and it was worth it. He was very pleasant and a really nice guy. He is courteous, knowledgeable, and easy to work with.

This man was a former carpenter on new home building. very good and knew how to solve the problems I had with warped doors and unframed windows (new) The window installer forgot to frame. or simply neglected to do it. He was excellent and I will call him again.
