DunRite Heating & Air Inc

After wasting my time with another company in terms of getting an estimate for replacement of my air conditioner, I called several places to get a ball park idea of what it was going to cost me. Yeah the estimates might be free but my time isnt, so I wanted to speak with some folks before I had them come out and we both potentially waste our time. Mike understood my situation and was glad to give me an idea (Wrigley Field or Yankee Park). After asking me a series of questions he told me what he thought would be the higest cost without looking at the house and the existing system. It was clear he was interested in the business and offered to come by my place later in the day if I chose and after I had gotten other estimates, he'd check back with me after the job he was doing. Sure enough he did call me later in the day and I had him come by. He was courteous and professional and gave me a final quote right there. I had one other vendor that was to call me back so I told him I'd give him a call in the next week and we left it there. I did end up calling him back and mentioned that not only did I want him to do the air unit, but I also had been trying to find someone to help me fix the air flow in the house. Tons of air would come out vents for the livingroom and kitchen but little in the bedrooms. He understood that I wanted to get a total cost estimate before I could commit and so he sent Jesse and Josh my way. They were great, they called me first to find out if the time was convenient, and got to my house when they said they would. They figured out what happen when the furnace was first installed and after consulting with Mike, determined that to fix the problem would be about $600. We scheduled the work for the following week and they again arrived on time and did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves and there were no surprises during the installation or fixing the air flow issue. I'd recommend them and will make sure they keep my current units (furnace and air) in good order

Moore Home Services

First off communications were fantastic! I was called a day before the appointment as a polite reminder. The day of the appointment I was called to let me know the technician was about 15 minutes out and would be here shortly. Jeff G arrived and asked several questions as to when the furnace was serviced last, how old was the unit., was it making any noises, where is the thermostat located and was the service call due to any issues I was having. The answer was there were no issues I was aware of, it was preventative getting ready to go into the winter. The unit was 10 years old and was serviced the year before last. The service went fine and actually took longer than I'd anticipated because he did so many more things than were done previously. He reviewed what my pressures were for the unit, one was in range of normal the other slightly higher than normal. Suggested a different type of filter, sealed a area where air was leaking out, tested & retested. When he was finished he told me about their gold service program but wasn't pushy or doing any hard sales job on me basically here is a program you may be interested in and here are other services we offer you should think about (duct cleaning) Jeff was personable and very professional. I would recommend Moore Heating & Air Conditioning to anyone as a value & great service

Calvey Heating & Air

Bernie said he should first diagnose the low-flow vent, because if there was a tear in any of the ducts, there'd be no sense in trying to clean them. He found that one of the rigid ducts was squished (almost flattened) and that there was a leak near the furnace. He fixed both of those problems and rescheduled the cleaning since the repairs took a few hours. I found him to be thorough, friendly, professional, and honest. I would definitely recommend Calvey Heating & Air and will use them again to do our duct cleaning next year

Reliable Air Mechanical
2.0
Quote was for work to be 2 1/2 days - job lasted over a week. Quote was for a fixed price, based on quote and system review. Contractor raised price after work started, due to his proposed fix to increase return air flow not being doable. Recommended second change still did not work and they made yet another change to get more return air for system. We are now stuck with an air flow 'NOISE' in the system, that was not present before the job. Cleanup around site was deplorable. Sheet metal screws in house and driveway; aluminum shavings found throughout house, insulation stuck in registers AND contractor filled MY recycle bin and garbage bin rather than taking trash to their site for disposal

Moore Mechanical Heating & Air Conditioning

They know their stuff very, very well. Kevin Bradley and team did an amazing job installing whole house humidifier at our place. Kevin did a thorough walk through, suggested us the right humidifier, the team installed it very, very professionally. They made sure everything worked perfectly with our two Nest thermostats, thoroughly tested the entire system. They even stopped by later to do adjustments and fine tuning. Last but not the least, they charge a very very fair price for the kind of quality work they do. We shopped around and interviewed a few HVAC companies before hiring them; no one even came close in terms of the knowledge and professionalism. I would highly recommend them for any HVAC work you may need. They are very honest and very reliable

Air Quality Heating & Air Conditioning
5.0
Before hiring Air Quality, I obtained estimates from five highly rated contractors. Air Quality's estimate was the lowest by far. The problem that needed fixing was fairly straightforward - my home office and master bathroom did not get enough heat from my central heating system. The ducts were clean, but the distribution of air/heat left those two rooms with little heat. The recommendations ranged from the high end - "Relocate the furnace to a more central location in the attic and replace all duct work" for about $5000. The typical recommendation was "Completely replace all existing duct work" for $2500-$3000. Air Quality's recommendation was to instead install dampers and replace only the duct work to the two rooms for $1200. Although the two technicians did arrive about 35 minutes late (8:35am instead of 8am), they finished at the promised time of 11am. Before leaving, I had them show that the air flow problem had been corrected, which it hadn't. So they spent about 20 minutes adjusting the dampers until I was satisfied that the airflow to the two rooms was adequate. The work comes with a 2 year warranty on parts and labor

ARM Heating, Air, and Electrical

Based on a number of very positive online reviews, I contacted ARM about installation of a humidifier on our pre-existing furnace. From the first contact, I was charmed by the owner, Alan's wife, Lydia, who takes all the calls. She is absolutely delightful! Alan came out to assess our set-up and provide preliminary information. We then spoke with him over the phone several times after he did some research for us. Our situation was a bit complicated as our furnace is in a small closet. Alan and his employee then came out and installed our humidifier perfectly. All went well with what appeared to be a rather labor-intensive (4 hour) process. We are very happy with our humidifier and the service provided by ARM. We will definitely use them again for our heating and air conditioning needs

I solicited 4 top HVAC companies. Of those, three responded ... two of the three gave recommendations of Central Heating furnace replacements and they explained the strengths of their brands (all were top brands of furnaces). 'RELIABLE AIR MECHANICAL' stood out from other "estimators" by sending an HVAC Engineer rather than a "sales-marketing representative". Vic came and went through all the same steps of asking "what is the square footage of the house, etc." ... BUT, he also asked if I had a central-air conditioner AND "WHAT TONNAGE" the air conditioner was! It turned out that this was a critical factor in the air-flow for our Central Air HVAC System. If I had used the more-expensive other salesmen's recommendations, we would have restricted the central-air conditioners air-flow during the warm months. SUMMARY: we have now the new system for a winter/summer season, it is a Bryant 80 SEER 2-stage (top of Reliable's three estimated cost-performance levels, which was consistent with the lowest estimates by the two other "salesmen"); the PERFORMANCE of the Furnace is VERY VERY QUIET, VERY EFFICIENT running for much shorter periods with more efficient room-air-flow ... no "burst of cold air" AND MUCH-LOWER-GAS/ELECTRICITY-BILLs!! Also, we were AMAZED at the added benefit of a MUCH MUCH more efficient AIR CONDITIONING FUNCTION ... our "older" large central air conditioner now runs for very short periods and it pulls the house down to very cool temps in a very rapid/short time where before it would run for long-long times with marginal cooling. VIC & Reliable Air Mechanical are the very BEST because they KNOW HVAC Systems and will calculate the mechanical sizing and performance of the ENTIRE SYSTEM (furnace, air-conditioner, HVAC 'Ducting-Plenum Sizing', etc.). When replacing a furnace or air-conditioner it is ESSENTIAL to have a technical person trained in HVAC ENGINEERING, it makes ALL-THE-DIFFERENCE in gaining efficiency in home-central-air systems. PS> Our PG&E Bill has fallen, with the exact same use year-to-year by from 7% to 10% ... while the Heating & Cooling comfort have risen to an "excellent comfort" level. My wife and I are exceptionally pleased that we selected Reliable Air Mechanical !!! One last comment: they showed up on-time, worked cleanly and quietly. The entire job was fully completed with full-duct-insulation, installation of a an excellent new thermostat and "operating instruction", in one short day

Our HVAC system was blowing tons of air in two of our bedrooms but my daughters room and guest room were not getting any air so in the summer it's really hot in her room and in the winter, really cold. This seems to be a problem with the new homes in my town. I don't know much about HVAC systems but he went in the attic and clamped off certain rooms to let more air flow in other rooms. Works so much better now
We were happy with the estimate and were able to have the heater installed within a few days. The two young men that did the installation were very pleasant. The installation went smoothly and I was thrilled with the product. It's a two stage heater and the air flow is so much better than the blast of air from our old heater. Our new heater is a softer and milder circulation of air. It is very comfortable
When we selected Kelly, the installation was scheduled within a few days. The installation team arrived as scheduled, and was pleasant and easy to work with. One area's ducting was rerouted to address some inefficient air flow. Upstairs and downstairs were "zoned". Ducts were sealed and tested for leaks. All areas were left clean. After installation, a few tweaks were made to make our house comfortable throughout. The cost was exactly as quoted

What do customers in San Jose say about Dehumidifier Installation?
Great service at a fair discounted price. Tech showed up towards very end of scheduled window (only reason of rating a B for punctuality), but should have hired these guys a long time ago. Tech was able to adjust heater motor (not accessible by user) to increase air flow, and adjusted gas line for increase BTU performance = higher air flow in parts of house with historically low flow. Overall satisfied with the service + professionalism.
