THE FIXIT TEAM INC
We agreed in the contract of a price of 2800. Once job was completed the Fixit team staff told us we had to pay additional $406. We questioned why it was not in the original contract & she told us there was a "blurb" that stated "materials extra". Plus, they penalized us 20% because the workmen had to buy some bags of cement & nails. This makes the 20% add-on totally unreasonable and unavoidable from a customer's view. This makes the quote misleading. We paid to rent a truck to haul all of the materials, which had we have know, would have also purchased the other materials needed (rather than incur that 20% penalty). Since the store they purchased from is located down the street, this would have been very convenient for us to handle. I highly recommend ML Construction! Linda responded quickly to my request, got the details for my projects, set a very fair price, and scheduled the work during the time frame I needed it. Amilcar and crew showed up on schedule, assessed my projects and got right to work. The baseboard replacement required a lot of corner cuts, the new interior door needed trimming to fit, and the trim being replaced was for a second floor window. The crew was friendly, the work professionally completed, and it all looks great! While Amilcar was up on the second floor he noticed some additional trim boards that should be replaced. My home is 30 years old, so it's undoubtedly time to take a look at all of the trim and see what needs to be done. Everyone at ML Construction was great to work with, so I'm definitely going to contact Linda in the near future to take care of those problems as well

Mark and his team are about as good as it gets when it comes to moulding. We had the entire moulding in our recent remodel removed to be replaced with new base board, door casings and crown. We had used Moulding Masters in the past and did not hesitate to call them for an estimate for our project. Mark did a thorough walk through of our home and made numerous suggestions for moulding types and sizes. The pricing was very fair (we had two other estimates) and we gave the project to Mark and his team. The results were beyond our expectations. Dufficy Fine Carpentry & Design
I live in a remodeled Victorian house built in 1904 where one of the bedrooms was separated from the living room by french doors. I wanted to make the bedroom more private and completely separate from the living room, but not close off the wall completely to allow sufficient light. So the work required converting the french door to a high and wide window, incorporating some of the moulding and period details. John did a great job first researching the materials to find an exact match of the trim and moulding, and then ensuring that the work was seamless. The result was a window that looks like it was built as part of the house in the early 1900s! I had many friends comment on the great job. I would definitely hire John again. Besides professional, he was friendly and courteous. We're lucky to have him here in San Francisco

Stay away from scammers!! To be honest, I am not a person who write reviews, but I am writing one today because I don't want more people like me to suffer and endure such trauma. I was not comfortable giving Armando the work however he insisted and looking at his confidence and enthusiasm I decided to hire him. He appeared to be super nice and meticulous at the beginning however it didn't take much for him to show his true nature. Based on our agreement he got 50% payment on day1 and remaining 50% payment was due when the work is completed. He was barely halfway through and he starts pushing me for the rest of the payment. I was totally surprised and shocked. That day he and his companion smoked something terribly bad (weed??) in our backyard without my consent. My neighbor literally sent me an email asking who these guys are! Next day he shows up and starts packing up his stuff. It takes me by surprise cause our living room wall texture ruined and bathroom ceiling as well. He left 7 doors w/o door trims and few hundred running feet of baseboard installation. The day he decides to leave I gave him additional money against our contract (against my own intuitions) summing it to 80% of the total payment and requested him numerous times if he could finish the work. I also asked him if he could finish the work after his other projects elsewhere are done, but he literally turned me down and walked away. I could not do much but see him leaving. My wife was so disappointed seeing the mess he left! What comes next is even worst. The next day he sends me emotionally disturbing messages with kid's pictures saying that I've stolen money from them. I was shocked!!! Adding more to it, the next to next day he sends me threatening messages saying that his wife is furious and want to go to small court. He uses profane language in his messages calling out my nationality. I am sure he never told his wife (if there is one) the mess he left behind even after taking 80% payment. This guy is not just ripping people off of their hard-earned money but scamming them. He is not just unprofessional in his true nature but wants to scam people. His threatening messages with profane language are proof of his unwelcoming behavior. He showed how irresponsible and mannerless he is by smoking that terrible stuff in our backyard (our backyard cameras recorded that). I believe in God and I think he is watching all of us. May God have mercy on you Armando

Moulding Masters
Price was fair and quality of the work is great, we are really pleased with the final product. They also made it very easy for us, not requiring us to (re)move furniture from the rooms they were working in. Excellent craftsmanship and the work was done cleanly and efficiently. My only minor quibble was with the manner in which they delivered and acted on their quote- everything was very informal, we never signed a contract, and they seemed to just pick a figure out of the air when we put down our deposit (what we ended up putting down the day we stopped in the office was different than what they said they'd ask us to put down). Again, can't stress enough that, in hindsight, these were very minor issues. MM was just a little more loosey-goosey about the details than I'm accustomed to. Would highly recommend and will consider for future jobs

We have used Moulding Masters three times now as our renovation program moves throughout the house. Their professionalism, expertise and workmanship are top-notch. The owner, Mark Benda, is a pleasure to deal with and his crew members are all very hardworking and meticulous. All cutting is done outside to minimize dust and they are extremely tidy. We continue to invite them back because the prices are fair for the amount and quality of the work performed. Our house has provided them with some unique challenges and they love coming up with solutions. They have also corrected work done previously by others. These guys know the right way to doing things! To date, we have been thrilled with the results. Since we are also repainting the interior of the house as we renovate, and I am extremely picky, I usually have my professional paint crew check for any additional touch-ups, if needed, after the mouldings have been installed. As homeowners, we are happy to share our positive experience with this company. We look forward to engaging them again in the near future for baseboards after we re-carpet the upstairs

The crews were early every day and waited in their cars to arrive at our agreed time which was great as most contractors are flakes and you never know when they’ll show. I was most impressed with their prep work taping off windows, plastic tarps taped eight feet out from the house to protect my concrete and plants...when they removed it all there were no oops spots anywhere which I really appreciated. I know I am a picky person, my husband calls me “eagle eye” because I like things done just so on everything and Sunwest was patient with me getting it to my satisfaction. Happy with the result and will recommend them to neighbors and friend

I called Dan to come in and help me figure out what to do with the office space I had that seemed very unfunctional and unproffesion. My staff was working practically on top of each ther, though I had aqequate space it clearly ws not breing utilized well. Dan was very punctual from the get go. He gave me options and ideas to properly use the space and give us the small, yet workable offices. After the roof frame was done. The crew installed the electricla, cat 5 insulation and then finshed the sheet rock. Morgan crew shined installing the glass doors and finish trim. The job finished on time and under budget

Barry Mansker (owner and service provider) did a great job delivering a quality project that lived up to my expectations. The cost was reasonable. By comparison, a couple of handymen provided questionable low bids, while a couple of contractors provided higher bids. Barry fills a unique niche, somewhere between (typical) handymen and (standard) contractors. Unlike most handymen, he possesses a California general contractor's license. Barry has the traits of an outstanding contractor/handyman, traits that I -- and I imagine most customers -- expect. He is knowledgeable, has a broad skill set, is responsive, diligent, punctual, professional, respectful, and reliable, and follows through on commitments. As a case in point, a modest correction needed to be made to the paint job. He arrived the very next day and corrected the problem, offering no excuses and not hemming-and-hawing about whether he was responsible. As icing on the cake, Barry is a very pleasant and humble individual, and his engineering background is impressive. He is among the best contractors/handymen I've ever hired for any project

Over the past 13 + years I have contracted with JH Construction several times for remodeling/construction and repair. Jim was the general for a bathroom remodel at a vacation home in South Lake Tahoe. He performed and managed the entire process including all permitting, carpentry and finish work. His plumbing, electrical, and tile subcontractors were equally professional, courteous and clean in their work. The results far exceeded our expectations and the project was competed within our budget, and ahead of schedule. When we were preparing to sell my father's home we contacted JH regarding damaged door trim on two of the interior doors. We were prepared to replace all of the door trim in the house and had budgeted a few thousand dollars for the material and labor and planned on a 2-3 week timeframe. Jim came over and inspected the damage and we were pleased to hear that the damage could be repaired and that we did not need to replace all of the trim on the house. He went on to repair the trim and over the course of a few days made several brief visits to repair and then paint the affected areas. There are several other projects I could comment on, but one is particularly telling of the customer service and broad skill-set the Jim provides. On a Sunday morning we heard a water leak in an interior wall between our kitchen and laundry room. After investigating the source of the leak and its location it was clear that we needed help. I called JH Construction at around noon, and by 5pm that day Jim arrived and began repair. The work included cutting a hole in our floor (the leak was not accessible via our crawl space) and re-piping the leaking section and then closing up the hole and re-tacking out carpet. He was finished and cleaned out by 11pm. This work was not a big project, and I suspect was not profitable, but that did not matter to Jim. We are his customers and he was more than willing to interrupt his weekend and make a special trip because it was an emergency

Chris was great about coming on time, or would call before if he was delayed. The work was scheduled to begin on a Thursday. He called late Tuesday to indicate that the job he was currently working on would cause him to come a day later than originally planned. He removed all of the old baseboards/door mouldings. He cleaned up as he removed them. (I have children and a puppy, so it was appreciated). Chris installed 5 1/4 inch baseboards and 3 1/2 inch door moldings throughout my house. I also appreciated that for some areas where he needed to cut/trim, that he showed me the two ways he could do it and got my OK prior to doing the cuts. Project took 3 days. The baseboards/door molding look fantastic! I'm very pleased with the high quality of his work and would highly recommend his services.
