Reviews in San Francisco to Repair Refrigerators

GilTech Appliance Inc

Gil property diagnosed it after another appliance repair guy tried to fix it 3 times and failed. He identified the correct malfunctioning part, replaced it, and everything has worked fine since, Would highly recommend. One improvement he could use...He does need to be more conscientious about giving written bids or receipts.

Ray came out on the Saturday evening of Memorial Day weekend. He replaced the condenser on my GE Monogram fridge, which several other companies had told me they do not work on. I was at a loss as far as what to do until Ray called and said he was in the area, so he would come look, diagnose, and give an estimate. I had to have it fixed as it had already been several days of unsuccessfully trying to find someone to repair it. He had the part in his truck and very efficiently and quickly replaced the part. He was very polite and well informed as well. He told me exactly what he was doing throughout the process, and gave tips on how to keep it running optimally. Very pleased! Highly recommend RO Appliance to anyone! Thank you Ray!

Sam did a great job. He showed up on time, told me my fridge was easy to repair and that it was less expensive to repair it than to buy a new one; and then very quickly repaired it on the spot.

Meyer Appliances

We have only used Meyer Appliance once but the guy that came out did a great job. He was very nice and did a very professional job. He did the job much cheaper than anyone else we talked to. The price was right and the work was very good. Overall I was very happy with the job done. I was satisfied with the response to my call. I would use Meyer Appliance in the future.

ELECTRIC EXPRESS APPLIANCE
5.0
Our fridge was buzzing loudly. We feared the condenser was about to go. We braced ourselves for a hefty repair bill and called several places. Electric Express was the nicest and could come out quickly. The repair guy was very polite. He could have told us anything and we would have probably believed him. Instead, he noticed that the coil at the bottom of the fridge was vibrating against our hardwood floor, causing the noise. He showed us how to place a felt brace underneath and charged us only the minimum visit amount. Wow! Competent and honest? I'll definitely call them again for any appliance repair.

Was on time for the 1st appointment. Was a tad bit late for the 2nd appointment but he called to let me know. My fridge was not getting cold but my freezer was. The problem was that the cold air wasn't getting from the freezer to the fridge compartment. I probably could have fixed this myself but i didn't have the time and wasn't exactly sure if i had figured out which part was bad. All mike did was read the debug paperwork at the bottom of the fridge and then run a self diagnostic through the fridge which then told him what part was bad. It took him like 10 minutes. I already had an idea what part was bad but he just confirmed it. Since he's probably seen this a million times he was fast and completely sure which part to order. His total cost for labor was about $80. The rest of the cost was for the part and taxes. So the major cost was the part which i would have had to buy if i did it myself. So i think $80 is a fair cost to get my fridge up and running again. He made an effort to not waste time since he was getting paid by the 1/4 hour... i thought that was nice. Since we had to order the part which would take a few days he showed me a way to rig the fridge so cold air would make it into the fridge compartment again in the meanwhile. That totally worked and we had a cold fridge again in a few hours after his 1st appointment.

Jp Appliance Repair
5.0
It went excellent. JP Appliance Repair did an excellent job. Two techs came within hours of my call and spent the needed time to diagnose the exact problem. Then they ordered the part and followed up until the part arrived. As soon as the part came in, they came and installed it. The refrigerator works very well now. As a side note, the two techs were extremely conciouncicus and friendly. They wore masks, took off their shoes before entering the house, did not touch any of the food (it is COVID-19 period) and fully cleaned up when the repair was completed. I highly recommend JP Appliance Repair.

Recent Review: Our Whirlpool bottom-freezer refrigerator was collecting ice in the floor of the freezer and eventually dripping water on the kitchen floor. Made an appointment with Metro on Wednesday for Friday afternoon. Igor arrived on time and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. He showed us the original Whirlpool part (which, he said, fails a lot of the time) and replaced it with a hose. He de-iced the freezer and made sure everything was working properly before he left. I would recommend Metro for any refrigerator repair and plan to use them for any other appliance repair in the future,

Recent Review: A repairman came out the next day, quickly diagnosed the problem (faulty relay/overload module, a common refrigerator failure), and replaced the faulty assembly. The repairman was friendly and professional; he also helped me better understand exactly what had gone wrong with the refrigerator (which, as an engineer, I appreciated).

Recent Review: The ice maker in our 3 year old Liebherr refrigerator stopped working. Their service network is sparse - only two appliance repair shops to serve the entire San Francisco Bay area. The shop was good about setting an initial appointment, and Joe arrived within the 2 hour time range they gave. Although he was a nice guy, I got the impression that this wasn't a model he worked on a lot, so it took him some extra time to remove the ice maker. It was clear which part had broken, so he put everything back together and said he would put the part on order. I didn't hear back for about a week so I called for a status update and asked them to order the part. I left on vacation for 10 days and when I returned I called to schedule a return visit to install the new part. They were a bit backlogged and scheduled me for the following week. Joe again arrived on time with the part. He said that rather than order an entirely new unit they had ordered a kit, which he thought would save me some money. Unfortunately, disassembling the old unit proved difficult and required a long call in to the shop for help. In the end, whatever savings might have been gained by ordering the kit was largely eaten up by extra labor charges. When it came time to pay, I saw I was being charged $275 for a complete new icemaker, rather than $95 for the kit. It took Joe 3 calls back to the office to finally convince them that he had not installed a new complete unit. Had I not been persistent they would have charged me the higher price. As it was, I was charged $120 in extra labor because of the long assembly time. In hindsight it would have been better to get an entirely new unit, which would have taken 5 minutes to install. I don't blame Joe, and he was apologetic, but I was pretty annoyed that I had to work so hard not to be overcharged. I just hope that the problem is actually fixed. I won't know until the first batch of ice is made.

Recent Review: The freezer section of this side-by-side refrigerator was showing temperature swings between -3 and +13. GE said they could come in a week. We called some top rated Angie's list providers and they did not want to come work on this "high-end" appliance. Bay Appliance Repair was suggested by one of them. We called and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Jon came on time and took apart the inside of both sides and said there did not seem to be anything wrong with the mechanical parts, freon, etc. He wiped everything down and reassembled it efficiently. He vacuumed the fan and coils in the back. He said the only thing likely to be wrong with it after checking everything else was the computer part - the motherboard. At that point we could have said thanks much and paid him the diagnosis fee of 99 dollars but we felt that if there was a problem starting after six years perhaps this would be a good time to change that. He said fine and called to make sure the right part was available. He immediately drove to the parts supplystore, picked it up and installed it. The part was $250 the labor 150 but the "diagnosis" charge was applied toward the labor charge. It was a very reasonable charge for lots of professional labor. Jon explained everything and was patient and not pressuring us. I think he was surprised that we chose to get the motherboard changed in advance of more problems. He left our home pristine. The refrigerator took almost 12 hours to stabilize at the new temperatures but now works perfectly.
