Reviews in San Francisco for Building Wheelchair Ramps

One of my parents had a stroke and is temporarily in a wheelchair. This past Monday night our home care provider called me and told me we needed to have a wheelchair/walker ramp built on a walkway and another to the front door to keep my other parent from getting an injury pulling the wheelchair into the house. I also needed grab bars in the bathrooms to prevent one parent from falling and potentially injuring the other. With great urgency, I searched Angie's list and found Bruce's name. I phoned him Tuesday morning and set up an appointment for Thursday morning. Bruce was willing to meet me very early in the morning so that I could make it into work for a 9 am meeting. He looked over the ramp areas and made suggestions for how to build them so that they'd be most stable and the lowest slope. For the grab bars, he helped me figure out the right sizes to order and how to best position a tricky one that had to go on a pocket door wall and another that was in porcelain tile. I was lucky and Bruce had a cancellation, so he was able to come the next morning. He built both ramps in the morning, and they are wide with a nice, low slope and feel very solid and stable. The grab bars hadn't arrived yet, so he offerred to come back the next morning to install them. I gratefully accepted since the caregiver had warned us how unsafe it was to use the bathrooms without the bars. Bruce came early that Saturday and installed the grab bars. These were a lifesaver for my parent. With the grab bars, my parent can now maneuver safely into and out of the bathroom. These have made a huge difference in the safety of both my parents. Bruce was very flexible and helpful throughout the job. He's very open to questions and worked collaboratively to make sure that the ramps and grab bars turned out just as we needed. There were complications in how the ramp near the front door had to be laid out, and Bruce negotiated this effortlessly and used it to build an even better solution. I feel very lucky to have found Bruce and am grateful he was able to help me keep my parents safe on a super quick timeframe. I am very pleased with his work and will absolutely use his services again.

Matt Anderson is a wonderful contractor to work with, he listens to your concerns or ideas and gives plenty of suggestions and solutions to make it work. His team of workers are professional. Shaun is especially good with working with intricate cuts and fitting all the pieces together, and did the majority of the work. My husband is handicapped, So we had part of our existing pavers raised up in a ramp like fashion to meet up with the new deck. and another ramp was made to allow my husband to get down to the dock with his power wheelchair. My husband and I just love our deck. We would definitely use Matt's services again in a heartbeat.

Daniel was very responsive to all of my communications and questions. He offered detailed advice on choice and style of stain and was completely open and honest about the scope of the job. The work was completed on time and at the pre-agreed upon price and the results look outstanding. I will definitely contact him not only when my deck needs to be stained again, but about interior painting jobs as well.

WOODENBRIDGE INC
5.0
We needed install cabinets that are wheelchair friendly. They sat with us over two afternoons and asked hundreds of question for how wheelchair-person go about cabinets, size, distance, height, material, opening and closing mechanisms, handles, etc,, and produced an amazing computer-generated design. We modified a little for the final design, and here we g:o we have cabinets that are wheelchair friendly, made of top quality bamboo and maple, modern European looking and very functional. That alone was a very pleasant experience. The price tag was very reasonable as well, as 3 of our friends installed new kitchen cabinets about the same time. The most impressive aspect of Woodenbridge was their attitude toward the customer service. They seem willing to go extra miles to satisfy us in every aspect of the project. Numerous talks and visits to make the cabinets more wheelchair friendly and more functional without a single complaints pleased us enormously. We used 16 different contractors recently to remodel our house, and Woodenbridge definitely stood out among them in terms of quality, pricing and customer service. We recommend them highly to whoever needs high quality functional custom cabinets.

We had an old wood deck that needed to be replaced. After collecting bids went with Jack's Decks (Assadi Home Construction and Design). Everything was great. He and his crew showed up right on time on the start day. Work progress well and everything was built and delivered as expected. Deck looks great and fence is fixed.

The decks look amazing --- the work they did really changed their appearance. Bruce (the owner) has also spent a lot of time talking over with me what to do now and what to postpone to next year or after, to keep within my budget. Great company to work with --- they clearly are working to create a long-term service.

Tony Addy's Building Services, Inc

My new deck is FAR better than I could have hoped for! Tony's attitude of "No problem, we can do that for you" was key for us. He listened to our ideas and gave us a quote within a week or so. Along with the quote he added a few new ideas that were more visually pleasing (but more work for him) than what we had originally planned. He and his crew worked their butt off every day. I loved that he would take the time to explain what he was doing and why and he always communicated what step was next. All along the way he kept giving us new ideas to make not just the deck project great, but things he would do for the other parts of the yard not yet under construction. He and his crew kept our yard clean every day that they were working on site.

Business Description: Remodeling “I’ve seen it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly.” The good. This is when you start your project off right from the beginning, getting the right architect, the right contractor, and the right price. Start off right call O.K. Contracting at 650-996-9668! A bad start to your project is like having a bad foundation; no matter what you do afterwards it will all come falling down eventually. I don’t know how many times I’ve gone to homeowner’s property after they started the project on their own. “ I thought it wouldn't be a problem, I would just hire all the contractors, and do some of the work myself. I figured I could save thousands of dollars, but now my project is over budget along with my contractors, and has become a disaster…can you help me?” The ugly, is when you hire the wrong contractor that doesn’t know what they’re doing; someone who is not qualified and out for a quick buck. There are thousands of them out there, licensed and unlicensed, who are just looking to do mediocre work for double the cost. I know that contractors do have a bad name because of this; I like to call them cowboys.First of all let me introduce myself, Daniel O'Keeffe, and thank you for taking the time to look at my page.I have been working in construction now far over 20 years. I decided to start my own company because, I knew I could run a better business than the contractors I have been working for. Most other contractors only care about the money and how fast they can take it from you. That's no way to do business, why not take some pride in your work , look after your customers and in time you will reap the rewards. That is my philosophy and so far it's proven to work for me. I've never been happier at work since I started my own company and long may it continue. (Honesty is the best policy) remodeling, new construction, additions, home improvement, renovations, general contracting. This is list of what we do best and we have the written testimonials, from customers to back up our claims. We don't leave a project until the customer is 100% satisfied. Your happiness with the end product is our happiness. We can provide you with fresh new ideas, for your home. With over 20 years’ experience in the trade we have the know-how to transform your house into your home. If you are looking to resell your property, we know what buyers are looking for in a property and we can transform your property into a top seller in the market. We provide top quality craftsmanship at an affordable price. Respecting your home is our number one priority; cleanliness is the must in our business. Give us a call or send us an e-mail, even if it's only looking for advice. We would be more than happy to help you.
