Reviews for Boiler Installation in San Francisco

Boiler Specialists Inc

They did an adequate job. They were nothing special. They showed up on time. They did what they said they were going to do. The boiler is not performing according to specifications, but we think it as the fault of the boiler.

ANDERSON RADIANT HEATING
5.0
We had a series of contractors bid the porject, although each of these contractors engaged in some level of double talk about what they might experience during the course of the project. Glen of Anderson Radiant Heating showed up. He gave us a precise bid and start date. More importantly, it was clear he had extensive knowledge of all aspects of radiant heat systems. His bid was slightly higher than the other contractors, but worth every nickel. He (Glen himself) started the job on the day promised, and finished the next afternoon. The system works perfect. Glen takes tremendous pride in his works. For obvious reasons, Glen is busy. We strongly recommend that anyone needing quality work, wait for Glen. He is worth it.

DE JAGER & REILLY PLUMBING & HEATING

I had already made an appt for a heating expert to come out until my brother reminded me that we don't have a heater, we have a boiler and that we needed an expert who serviced boilers meaning they had to have plumbing expertise. I was worried that we wouldn't get an appt ..Christmas was quick approaching and the house was 50 degrees. Luckily, the person who did the scheduling at de Jager was compassionate about our situation (a very cold front had arrived). She scheduled a technician for the 11:00 the same day. A caregiver at the house (not the owner/resident) answered our door. He arrived promptly. He turned the boiler back on and he cautioned us to keep our thermostat at 67 degrees or higher or we may shut the boiler back off. He told her that if we turn the thermostat off we also have to turn off the boiler. Unfortunately, he did not explain to her how to restart the boiler if this should happen again. I will be calling them again as we normally kept our thermostat at 58-65 and will not want to keep it at 67 or higher once the weather warms back up again. At 67 degrees, the PG&E bill is $350 higher than typical. We have always turned the heat down to 60 at night so I will also ask them -- if this were to happen again -- if we can restart our boiler without having a service technician come out.

They were able to come right away since it was an emergency. They even postponed another appointment to help me with my issue. They were very professional and provided service with heart.

ANDERSON RADIANT HEATING

They were great. We first had them come out and do a 'tune up' and then about a year later had the new boiler installed. They made good recommendations based on years of experience in this business. They showed up on time and were done on time. They came back at a later date to make some adjustments free of charge. It's a family owned business and everyone we met was courteous and knowledgeable.

After dealing with a factory authorized service rep. for a Munchkin Radiant Heater it was refreshing to work with Anderson Radiant Heating. They were very honest and punctual. The cost was high mostly due to the parts that had to be replaced. They quoted an estimate and stuck to it. Would definitely use them again for Munchkin boiler repair as opposed to the factory authorized guys (who aren't even located in the South Bay when I wrote this review).

The a/c was a new unit replacing an old one which I liked. I didn't like the repair work they did on the furnace and the boiler. I did not like way they billed me for the services.

The Green Guild
5.0
The job involved a lot of plumbing and wiring, especially as the new boiler was some distance from the location of the old one, and only one of two furnaces in the house were being replaced. I was apprehensive about the complexity, the choice of unit, and about switching to a just-in-time water heater, but everything has gone fine: the replacement took only a few days and the new boiler has been trouble-free. There was some controversy over how to arrange the vent in my very narrow driveway, but it was resolved satisfactorily. Overall, I'm very pleased with Green Guild's work and will call them when it's time to replace the other furnace.

They were very professional, punctual and neat. All the workers were very courteous and they didn't damage anything, everything was very well done. They were very efficient and they worked fast. If we had a problem, we called them and they came back to take care of it. I think we needed something tightened. I would tell people to get everything in writing and make sure the contract is very specific and clear. I believe they are the best providers of this type of service. I should have been more specfic about my expectations, once the contract is set he will stay true to it. We compared the price to other places and they were on the higher end, but when I did research on the company it was very positive and I felt like it would be worth it for us.

Recent Review: They exceeded my expectations. They followed through, were punctual, knew what they were doing, trustworthy and cleaned up the work area well. They were also competitively priced, one of the lower bids, although the bids i received were within $1,000 of each other. I highly recommend them and will continue to use them in the future.
