San Antonio Shower Door Repair

1) I had an old ceiling fan that was wobbling and making noises. I called handyman matters and they responded very promptly. The workman they sent to do the job was a certified electrician who quickly removed the old fan and replaced it with a new one. 2) They did such a good job the first time that I called them to repair my shower door. They replaced the 6 foot steel hinge quickly and efficiently. The first job cost about $130 and the second one about $110.

Juan had done some work for me last month. I called him back to install my new frameless shower door. He helped me pick it out and he picked it up at the big box store and installed it. He cleaned up after himself when he was done . The new door looks great. Spent $350 including the door. The door itself was the most expensive part of the job.

They were perfect!! The owner called to verify the appointment a few days before the scheduled date. The technician showed up perfectly on time, was polite, neat, and told me exactly what he was going to do. He gave me a time that he expected to be done and confirmed the price that had been quoted me. The finished results were better than I expected and the technician cleaned up after himself! My shower looks brand new. The technician left me with a card in case I had any further issues and the owner called me the next day to confirm that the work met my expectations. Perfect, perfect, perfect! I wish all contractors gave this level of service. I feel confident in recommending them to everyone.

Initial call to office was to request someone to inspect my house and give estimate for several projects. Date for this appointment was about 2 weeks away, but the estimator showed up exactly on time on the agreed date. Estimator took pictures of all problem areas and provided written estimate via email within a few days. Once I agreed to the work, the earliest they could start the work was about 2 weeks away, which was okay with me. Lalo was the handyman who handled all the work. He repaired 2 water-damaged areas in the ceiling, and after the final painting, I cannot even see the repair. He replaced rotted siding around 2 windows, and repainted to match the rest of the house. He replaced silicone caulk around a glass shower panel; it leaked slightly after the first day, but he re-caulked again and it does not leak now. He installed new weatherstripping on two exterior doors. He had to order a doorknob to match the other hardware in our house; it took longer than expected for the doorknob to come in. I received a call every day to keep me updated on the status of the doorknob and when it would be installed. With the exception of the doorknob, all work was completed on time as agreed in the initial estimate. My final bill was adjusted downward because Lalo was able to use paint that I already had instead of purchasing and matching new paint. I was very pleased with all the work that was done, and appreciated that one person could handle all the different tasks instead of having a parade of different workmen come in and out.

Best experience, and I've had many! Dave Peters was perfect to work with: professional, skilled, communicative, exceptionally responsive, trustworthy, and helpful. This was a total gut on an out-of-state rental; down to concrete slab and drywall; also replaced siding, driveway, sidewalk, patio. Finished product looks fantastic, inside and out. The journey was surprisingly free of frustration, thanks to Dave's management. He clearly defined scope, pricing, process upfront; communicated very well throughout the process, including pics and update texts/emails. Highly recommend my new go-to contractor! I was able to get ahold of them immediately to schedule an estimate and decided to move forward with them as the provider. The work was estimated to be completed in 2 days, largely due to area of ceiling that needed to be corrected. Bill arrived punctually and began work for fixing the door. When he said it was fixed I noted it opened fine but it still required some pressure to close and he proceeded to fix to work perfectly. On the bathroom though, he indicated he didn't have the tape required to apply the bottom shower door strip so he'd have to get that and apply the next day. I would've thought he'd come prepared having been the same person to provide the estimate. When he finished the caulking it looked like a first timer did it; it was thick, clumpy and not professional grade at all. I asked him to work on making it look better (smoothed out, thinner) and he looked at me like I was crazy, then eventually said he'd give it another shot. He did improve it but it was still not good; I could've done a better job and I don't know what i'm doing. Throughout his work on the ceiling he seemed to feel unsure of the job ahead of himself and this made me uncomfortable as I would've expected his discomfort to be provided during estimate and just tell me flat out if he didn't think he could do it. He eventually completed the first phase but when he came the next day it was still wet so he had to come again the next week due to conflicts in his schedule. He installed the shower strip at this time and asked we don't use shower for 24 hours. This was on a Friday. When we used it after the wait period, water was streaming out of the shower. When Bill returned the next week, I mentioned this and he said he'd try taping again, but then he realized he didn't buy enough tape and he wouldn't come back again for 2 days...so now I had no shower for another 3 days. In the meantime, Bill completed the ceiling drywall fix and painted. When Bill came last to fix the strip we had to leave another 24 hours before using the shower. Again, it kept leaking. I called Handyman Matters and indicated my discontent with the work in the shower and how it was obvious this is not Bill's strength area. I wanted someone with experience in bathrooms. They sent Steven who came to checkout the problem with the strip, he identified the issue and himself indicated the caulking was terrible. He proceeded to fix it and it looked great, the expected builder grade caulking job. Ultimately, though Bill was polite and punctual and the company was responsive, I can't trust that they won't send one guy to do all the work regardless of experience in an area. It was obvious Bill didn't do showers, this was a simple job and it became unnecessarily cumbersome.

Not well. This was the second time we used Alamo Handyman. The first time was great. This time we were not happy. The tile work was shoddy and had to be redone. The plumbing leaked and damaged the ceiling in our kitchen. Probably my biggest complaint was the scheduling. They said the work would take about a week, but the shower door and counters had to be manufactured after the work was started. We did not know this, but they certainly did and should have told us that after a couple of days of work there would be a delay while the counters and door were being made. We didn't learn this until the work was started. I would have been much happier knowing from the start how long it would really take. To their credit, they fixed everything we asked. However, if they told me before hand that we'll get it right, but it will take a couple of tries, I think I would have found someone else. I will not use them again.

The workers were prompt, responsible, and careful with clean-up. Each day the workers arrived at 9 and began work promptly. As our schedule was varied during the week the workers were flexible as well.

Ted did a superb job on a wide variety of tasks. His company was very responsive, conscientious, and eager to please. His price was one-fifth of that estimated by a much larger company that sponsors a weekend home improvement show on local radio. Quality was excellent. I highly recommend this company.

Although we bought this home for a rental property, we won't rent out a house that we wouldn't live in ourselves, so we did not want an investment-grade remodel. We were on a budget though, so we provided many of the materials ourselves and had Miguel install them. He made recommendations and suggested alternatives that saved us money without compromising quality. His prices are reasonable, he's up front with any problems he encounters while doing the work, and extras are priced fairly. We've never been happier with a contractor's work. We hardly recognize the house now that the work has been completed. We're especially happy with the tile work - he did an amazing job on the bathrooms, and the kitchen work is beautiful. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for either minor repairs or remodel work.

John was prompt, professional, and took time to ask important questions and gave sensible alternative cost efficient solutions to fix the issues with my house. He is extremely honest and respectful of his clients schedule and property. No ego here, he is a very humble family man. Work looks great! I will be using John for more upgrades around my house.

I could not be there but my daughter said he was there and done quickly. He even had to go to Home Depot for me. When I bought the track lighting, I did take the time to ask the lighting person at Home Depot if the box actually had EVERYTHING it needed included. He opened the box and looked at everything and assured me that it did have everything. The Home Depot expert was wrong. It didn't have the part to plug in or power source and Mr. Hatwig was kind enough to go and pick that up so the project could be completed.
