After getting several estimates for the repair of our home's foundation, I had the pleasure of the owner of All-Pro, Tony Cooper, come out to do the estimate for our house. Tony's results of his inspection were right in line with the other companies, but he suggested that there may be a sewer line leak that could be causing the problem and to have that checked first. I had the inspection done on the sewer line and it was inconclusive...it dropped 1/8" in 30 minutes and some say that is a leak and some say not. Not being a plumber, how would I know. I called Tony and gave him the results. Tony was the ONLY foundation repair company to send out an actual engineer to do an independent inspection and evaluation. All-Pro paid for the cost of this inspection and engineers report. Tony returned after he received the full engineer's report and showed us what needed to be done to correct the problems. Based on the engineers report and Tony's own results, we needed 30 piers, including 2 through concrete in the rear of the garage (where none of the other companies had suggested any) and one in the front of the garage entrance. Some of the other companies estimators (NOT engineers) had pretty much just gone around the house and wanted to install piers every 8' or so, including three across the front driveway, 2 through the concrete by the front door and 2 through the rear patio concrete. All-Pro was able to determine where the piers were actually needed and there were some areas on one side of the house that did not require a pier. Tony's estimate was about $3,000 less than the nearest competitor and I was impressed with his honesty and his use of an engineer to ensure the work that had to be done was proper for our foundation problem. All-Pro was originally supposed to be out to do our work in May 2012, but about a week prior to the scheduled work they called and asked if it could be set back to June since some of the supervisors they wanted on the job site were not available. They gave an additional $500.00 discount for the "inconvenience" (which it was not) and we scheduled for June 16th, a Saturday. I was told they would be able to get all of the required work done, including the 3 piers through concrete in one day. I was not totally convinced that would happen as I had earlier in the week saw a different foundation repair company working on a home down the street from ours and they were there for 3 days. The crews from All-Pro arrived at about 10:00AM yesterday and they hit it hard. They excavated holes around the entire house, had the 3 holes cut in the concrete and excavated and were installing the piers in no time. They worked hard and had a number of supervisors on scene that were just terrific. I cannot say how impressed I am with the quality of their workers and how hard they worked all day in the Summer heat. Our ground is clay and rock and they managed to dig through it with minimal impact on the shrubbery and other landscaping. Tony came to the work site in the afternoon and supervised the lifting of part of the house and showed me how the cracks went back together. Our fireplace facade on the inside had actually moved over about 1/2" over the years and I was pleased to see that after the lifting that it was back in its original place where it should be. The crews from All-Pro replaced as much dirt from the excavations as was possible then placed the left over soil in my back yard where there was no grass and spread it out there. Their clean up was amazing, including inside of the garage and everything was neat, swept and clean before they left at about 6:00PM. There were 3 supervisors on location and I cannot commend them enough. They had determined that an additional pier was needed under the fireplace in the rear of the house and installed it for no additional charge. The engineers report also had 2 root barriers on it that were not part of Tony's original estimate. Tony had his crews install them, again at no additional charge. I could not believe that all of that work had been accomplished in the span of one day and that it was so well done. I will have the plumbing and sewer lines tested this week to ensure there are no problems and this is required within 30 days of the foundation work to avoid voiding the warranty. Skip the others, use All-Pro if you have foundation problems!
