On a previous visit, a Benjamin Franklin representative determined that one of the reasons my main bathroom my toilet was acting up was because the ?guts? were low quality and after 7 years the toilet was failing. He took the time to explain how the toilet worked and he said it was obviously a "builder grade" toilet and not the best product. He was surprised because the builder had installed quality bathroom fixtures (Moen) yet skimped on the toilets. He showed me a catalog of new toilets, made a suggestion, and advised me to think about it. The quoted price was $689 for a mid-range toilet including install and a 7-year warranty. He said I could purchase a toilet elsewhere and he could install it, but couldn't offer a warranty. I did some looking and his quoted price was quite high, but I decided to take the easy route because I don't have the time, knowledge, and transportation ability about such things to get a toilet on my own. I was impressed with the install -- he made sure to close the front door each time to ensure the cats and dog didn't escape -- and he didn't leave a mess. Because I am a "Ben Society" member, I received 10 percent off the toilet price, plus the toilet I wanted wasn't available so I was "upgraded" slightly to one with a gentle-close lid at no extra cost to me. This company is easy to work with, the people are very friendly, and I will use the company in the future.
