Bob Abel, the owner, visited my house and gave me an estimate for both jobs - the flagstone walkway and the stone veneer repair work. The project was delayed due to some rain forecasts, but once work began everything went smoothly. Preparation work is key in laying flagstone and Bob's crew did a great job. I wanted the walkway to be built from my driveway, around the side of my house, and then to my backyard wooden deck - about fifty feet in all. Bob suggested Oklahoma Flagstone as a good match for the stone siding on my house. Great suggestion because it looks so good next to the stone on my house. He also advised a pcv pipe under the walkway to catch the rain coming off my gutters. Bob spray painted an outline of the walkway on the grass and the crew went to work. They cleared the grass and dug down a few inches to lay in the foundation mixture. They then machine pounded the foundation mixture compact and hard. Next they cut out a wire fence for support and laid that over the compacted foundation. Then the stone and mortar work began. The stonecutter was a true craftsman and artist in cutting and laying the flagstone. Attention to detail in both the stone and mortar work was outstanding. Weather conditions were tough with temperatures in the 100's, but the crew labored on. When the crew was done, Bob inspected the work and I couldn't be happier. I was equally pleased with the repair work done on the stone veneer on my house. I had done some initial repair work and it was an eyesore. Bob's crew matched the color of my house's mortar work perfectly and now one can't even tell where my botched repair was. They also patched every other crack on the house. Great job!

Our experience with Lone Star Roofing and Construction was extremely positive. The owner, Shawn, is very professional and responsive, and communicated with us throughout the project. Their crew was experienced and well organized, and cleaned up the work site daily. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone seeking quality workmanship and materials.

Without a doubt, this has been the most positive contracting experience I've gone through. Bill's team of guys were so great to work with. All aspects of the work were discussed up front. They took great care in setting up in the back yard so not to damage the landscaping. All work was done in a timely and professional manner. In the end, the project simply looks amazing and I couldn't be happier. Absolutely exceeded my expectations. Project took about 2.5 weeks to complete, but that was primarily due to the weather. We received constant emails from Bill as to the progress of the project and what they planned on doing next. There was never a time when I wondered "what is going on??" The excellent communication and feedback during the project was something I really enjoyed. We really felt like Bill and his team did an outstanding job.

Brad and his crew were professional and courteous - communication was good. The house was prepped and the paint was applied to the house well, although a couple areas of wood repair were not done as had been discussed. The double entry doors had originally been stained wood doors which had veneer that was de-laminating in places and bubbling in others. It was a challenging task getting a good finish on the doors. It took three attempts to get a satisfactory result. I credit Brad and his crew for sticking with it and seeing the job through but feel like I could have given the job a better overall score if the right approach had been used in the first place. I also held back on the score a bit because of a lack of clean-up. I ended up picking up the larger pieces of scraped paint and calk and sweeping the concrete areas myself. Overall I feel like I got a pretty good result for a good price.

BDS Home Repair
5.0
Let me start by saying BDS is not the cheapest, but nowhere near the most expensive. Every price they gave me was right in the middle of any other estimates I received. Remember the saying "cheap is expensive." Brent charges the same if the house is worth $20,000 or $2,000,000 (i.e. no "jaguar" pricing). We purchased a 4100 sq ft house/3 car garage that needed a lot of work. Brent and Mike were referred by a friend who had a great experience with them. The original quote was for painting the entire interior of the home, but as they went along I started noticing other things that we wanted to change. The original fireplace was cement and tile and we preferred to change it to a limestone finish to match the exterior of the house. They quickly designed and built a beautiful limestone fireplace. The Texas mesquite wood floors were in great need of repair and we wanted mesquite in the master bedroom (original veneer glued down was in bad shape). They refinished the floors quickly and perfectly. The guest bathroom renovation was a last minute decision and it is stunning - they took out the old tub, and built a standup shower with travertine floor and glass tile walls, replaced the toilet with a 1.2 gallon toilet, and replaced the vanity with matching glass tile and vessel sink with a through the wall faucet. The garage floor was redone with a blue epoxy and clear coat is looks great. I purchased a 150 pound glass chandelier and they had no problem hanging it in a 20 foot high ceiling. There was very bad stucco work on the exterior of the house that the previous owner had done, and they were able to repair it and repaint so I can not even notice the difference. Our water well had no cover and they built a beautiful pump house that seems to be strong enough to withstand a tornado. They also hung a 70 inch flat panel TV and wired power and sound through the wall, you can not see one wire - the TV appears to be floating on the wall. Perfect! They also did various things as they came up with no problem. This has been the greatest experience with contractors ever, and I am totally happy! The original job for interior painting turned into a giant remodel that took over 2 months. Every day I would come up with more things I wanted done and they had no problem with any of my requests. They take pride in their work and were alway on time and very polite and always took the time to do the job right. And my favorite thing is with Brent and Mike you are dealing with the contractor directly, not a salesman.

Recent Review: Jose and his crew were extremely friendly, responsive and did great work. Jose, the owner, really cares about his work and customer satisfaction. This was the second time I used him. They replaced the stone veneer very quickly. He catered to my needs. Jose inspected the work with me to ensure I was happy. I'm typically pretty picky about jobs being done right, and I had no issues with him. I really liked the service and would recommend him for great work done well.
