It turns out that we already had HardiePlank siding originally installed on our house. However, every piece of trim used with this superior product was inferior OSB garbage. This brought us to Angie?s List and Southwest Exteriors. They were highly rated on Angie?s List, so we figured we would give them a shot. Our Sales Representative came out and assessed our situation. He then, very professionally, lined out the work he proposed for us and walked the property with us telling us exactly what work would be completed and where. We were pleased when our quote came in on the high end, but did not exceed our overall budget. Expectations were further enhanced when we conducted our initial project scope walk with our Project Manager, her Field Superintendent, and our Installing Foreman. All the work lined out with our Sales Rep was then reinforced with the installation team. The first week, we had some issues with crew size and time spent on our project. Progress was relatively slow, in our opinion. It did rain one day, even though it was only for about 20 minutes. There was also an issue with the ability to fully replace some areas with full trim, versus veneering due to brick to frieze transitions. It was at that point that we decided to have a meeting with our Project Manager and realign our project results, thus far, with our original expectations. The following Monday, we outlined for our PM our ?simple facts? of the first week?s progress and how this did not comport to our original expectations for our project. And that, my friends, was all it took. From that point on, to the end of our project, Southwest Exteriors took off like a customer-satisfying rocket. The crew tried valiantly to work in high winds that same day. However, when our Foreman was hit with a piece of loose plywood, it was agreed that it was just too dangerous to work. The next day, our crew size tripled. Our Foreman was back, even though we did not expect him to be after he had been walloped by flying debris the previous day. The Field Superintendent was onsite to work out solutions to the brick to frieze transition problems. Veneers were torn off and replaced. They kept us informed of any and all issues encountered. If something was in doubt, they went with the highest quality decision in spite of scope. They replaced existing wood trim where we were not expecting them to do anything more than caulk and repaint. By that Thursday, the trim replacement work was completed. Less than a week later the caulking and painting was complete. Overall, they completed the project earlier than promised with more items than originally quoted. And it looks absolutely AWESOME. This is the first contractor to EVER exceed our expectations. In this or any other area we have lived. We will definitely use them to replace our windows and doors. We now understand why Southwest Exterior?s clients are not just customers, they are FANATICS. You could be too. You will not be disappointed. But you will be amazed.
