For example, we went from a 30 inch cook top to a 36 inch professional range top. This required Oby to cut my existing counter and cabinets to fit the larger range. When he finished it looked the the new range top was built in with the house. He used old cabinet pieces to make moulding for the new range and it matched perfectly. His carpentry skills are amazing.

Caliber Construction
We used Y's Guys to install a dryer vent and gas range vent to the roof. Mike, the owner, came out and gave me a price which I felt was a lot but we really didn't have time to get more estimates so we went ahead and hired them to do the work. The job took a little longer than we had anticipated because of some weather issues but the job was done right. He sent Gino to do the vent work and he did an excellent job! When Mike sent a roofer out to install the vents on top of the roof, they noticed there was an area around a water heater vent that needed some repair and he did this free of charge. Good honest people! I would use them again. I only have one complaint and that is Mike had asked me when we are going to replace our roof as it is obviously in bad shape. I told him hopefully in the summer some time. I asked him to give me an estimate and he said he would send a roofer by next week to do the estimate but he never showed up. I also told Mike I had a window that was badly damaged by another contractor and wanted him to look at it and give me a price. He said he would but never got back to me. Maybe really really busy?? I don't know as he hasn't contacted me.

They were very nice young men, but over course of the project, bad things happened to their company, the company where I ordered my cabinets and my kitchen is not done, I am missing a piece of granite that matches the granite already installed and I need tax information for my accountant. I will be looking for another contractor to finish hanging the upper cabinets, connect the dishwasher, install the range hood and install lights. The blame is on both sides and outside subcontractors, but Scott is not responding to calls and emails. I want the granite I paid for and had cut for my kitchen. I think it was cut at Alamo City Granite, but they also would not respond to emails and phone calls.

We chose Affordable Renovation Services to perform a partial remodel of our kitchen and couldn't be more pleased with the services provided. From the start of the project Marcus Armstrong was quick to respond, from working out our budget to finding solutions to the little snags I would imagine almost always pop up with a remodeling project. They converted our multi-level island into a single level, replaced our old double bowl top mount sink with a large single bowl undermount version. We also had them mount a convertible range hood vent following replacement of an old down draft cooktop. When we purchased the hood, our initial plan was to use it as ductless system but during the installation process it became evident that due to our existing cabinet structure, we really needed to have it installed with the duct routed through the wall instead. ARS did a great job of keeping us informed of the changes that needed to be made along the way and we couldn't be happier with the end result. Would definitely use them again in the future!

From our initial meeting and free estimate to the last clean up this project went smoothly in every way. The quality of each aspect of the kitchen renovation was very high with close attention to detail. Communication with the homeowner concerning scheduled work time, cost, materials used, coordination with subcontractors, and construction techniques was excellent. Clean up after each days work was never an issue. I felt all involved with this project addressed my concerns, answered my questions completely and were exceedingly flexible and accommodating. I would unconditionally recommend this company and plan to have them install my new kitchen floor next.

Shaw Company Painting & Remodeling
My kitchen was big but very traditional with a breakfast bar separating kitchen and the TV room and there was a built-in desk at one corner of the kitchen which had hardly been used. I wanted a big center island with seating to replace the breakfast bar and the deck, so I contacted Shaw Company Painting & Remodeling for a free estimate. During the first meeting ,it didn't take the owner Eric Shaw long to understand what I was looking for in the new kitchen . He made several good suggestions and his estimate was reasonable and I liked his positive 'can-do' attitude. I signed the contact on 9/1/2011. The actual work did not start until 10/7/2011. Shaw's workers were experienced and knowldgable. Eventhough they did not come every day, they worked hard while they were here. Several times when I was concerned with the progress, the supervisor, Juan, assured me that the work would be complete before Thanksgiving. All work was completed on 11/11/2011. Juan and his crew came thru for me and I love my beautiful, functional, new kitchen.

We couldn't be more pleased. Tuck responded back to us within just a couple of hours after we messaged him. He came out quickly to take a look at what we needed done and gave us an estimate immediately. We received two more offers from other companies but his was the most reasonable and fair. He did an outstanding job and even took our old oven/cooktop for recycling at no extra charge (other companies asked $50). He is an honest and reliable handyman that knows his business and we will definitely contact him again for future projects!
