Reviews in San Antonio for Installing Outlets

Good Electric

Contacted company right after purchasing coupon and they responded almost immediately. Installation was done quickly and looked like the outlet on the opposite end of the vanity, which we wanted to match in style and height. Workman friendly and efficient. We had some trouble with the outlet itself, getting the appliance plug to go into the outlet--had to push hard to get it to go in---as if something was blocking it. My husband bought a new outlet and easily replaced the one installed by the company, and it worked just fine.

I have nothing but good things to report. We had had another company give us an estimate for the job, which consisted of tapping into a power line from an outlet near the range, and running a new line to the outlet to be installed in the cupboard over the range. That first company warned us that he would have to cut through the wallboard, and that hole would have to be repaired and repainted by someone other than their installer. The Allgood tech, Chris Schmidt, spent a good amount of time fishing for the wires through the holes cut for the old and new outlets, and completed the job with no damage to the wallboard, saving considerable expense and hassles. He was prompt, extremely courteous, professional, and efficient. He also cleaned up completely after himself. The only evidence that he had been there was the sparkling new outlet in our cupboard.

While getting a home inspection as part of buying a new property some issues were noted by the inspector. I called All Star to come do an inspection of the problems. They gave me an honest opinion of what really needed to be fixed and what didn't. My house was built in 1977 and some of the issues noted by the home inspector were standard procedure at that time and didn't need to be fixed. All inspections and work performed were timely and friendly.

Great job. Terry and his helper, Zack came on time as scheduled. After a survey of the work required, i received a bid and then agreed on the work. They installed a GFCI outlet on an exterior wall using an existing open circuit breaker slot in my outside electrical panel. Then they cut into two existing circuits in the attic, ran wire and installed outlets to support security system electrical requirements. All was done efficiently and professionally. Terry was excellent in training his apprentice -- asking Zack what he would do and then explaining why it should be done that way. I appreciate that Terry took time to explain to me what he was doing and why. They finished after about 4 hours, cleaned up and departed after leaving assurances of the Good Electric guarantee and warranty. I'm very happy with the work.

Bexar Electric representative responded promptly and courteously to call for service. He came to home, analyzed work and gave a written quote. Electricians arrived on time within a few days. But after electrician inspected job, he contradicted his colleague and claimed it could not be done. Big controversy with lots of phone calls, etc. They finally agreed it could be done, just as initial Bexar Elec. rep had said. They made this a very stressful issue, with all the phone calls, back and forth, acting as if the quote was wrong, the price should be increased, etc. Electricians who did work were not pleasant. E.g. seemed put out that he would have to remove peg board from wall to install electrical outlet. Also left partial hole in wall where he attempted to install outlet, failed, then changed the location. Didn't patch over his mistake. Lanterns were installed. We immediately told the electrician that they were crooked and wobbling -- not secure. The workmanship was poor. The problem was not corrected. It took weeks and multiple phone calls to get someone out to address the problem. It is better now, but they are still slightly crooked. And the workmanship and the seals around the bases of the laterns is substandard. Overall, very disappointing experience considering the reviews here, and the price we paid.

Mr. Electric of San Antonio

David from Mr. Electric was prompt and very professional. He was clean and wore a mask and booties before coming into our house. He was informative and honest based on our specific needs. We weren't sure if our breaker would hold enough power to add in two more outlets, so he educated us on the best approach for installing our outlets while making sure we wouldn't have any future problems. They also proactively gave us insight around different areas we should consider protecting ourselves and even helped resolve an issue that could have led to bigger future problems with minimal additional costs. I appreciate this company's honesty, fair prices and professionalism and will definitely be contacting them again!

Allgood was professional and easy to work with. They removed an old, hot electric outlet that was a hazard in our backyard for a reasonable $89. I would recommend allgood and will be using them on future projects.

I purchased the coupon special that provided $200.00 worth of service for $99.00. This took care of the labor and we only had to pay for the parts. We called on a Thursday and the individual was able to get us scheduled for the following Tuesday. The serviceman was prompt, professional and informative. We desired to have an additional outlet installed during the same visit, but the voltage requirements prevented them from being able to install this. Therefore, I am not sure if I got my money's worth from a labor standpoint. Although I only paid $99.00, I didn't actually receive the amount of service work that equates to $200.00.

Recent Review: The technician, Robert Castro, Arrived on time and got to work immediately. After he finished examining all of the switches, electrical outlets, lights and light switches, and the indoor and outdoor electrical panels, he filled out his paperwork. He explained the checklist showing that the electrical system has been well maintained and that he did not find any problem areas. He preformed his job very professionally and was very courteous.

Recent Review: All the staff members were very polite and professional on the telephone. Albert went over my work orders and we discussed them in detail so that there would be no confusion upon the electricians arrival as to what I wanted done. They kept in communication with me as to the arrival time of the electrician. When Eric arrived he was very polite and went over with me what I wanted to have accomplished. Then he got all his tools and supplies and went to work. He was very neat and kept each area clean. He performed all work in an exceptional manner. I highly recommend Hill Electric and will ask for Eric for my next few electrical work orders. Thanks much.
