Mr. Marsh was punctual on all visits he made to our residence. He sent us catalogs via email for fans to look at our leisure and with his help we made a decision on the new fan we wanted. Mr. Marsh's expertise is what we really needed in this situation. Our master bedroom is a high vaulted ceiling and the old fan was attached directly to the ceiling with no down rod. Mr. Marsh explained that the fan was so close to the ceiling it would not deliver the proper air flow. When the new fan arrived he also ordered an 18" down rod for the new fan. This made all the difference in the world when it came to air flow in our bedroom. The $500.0 included the new fan and down rod, de-installing 2 existing fans and re-installing the new fan that was ordered and a better fan we had on hand. I would definitely call Mr. Marsh again.

We made an appointment and he showed up on time. He removed old fan. He then removed old brace and replaced it with a new much safer brace. He then installed the new fan and balanced it. Cleaned up all debris.

It went great. When installing the new fan he found that the builder had not installed the cross brace in the attic. With no extra charge he removed the old cross brace and replaced with the correct kind. Installation of the fan was perfect and it is working great.

Alamo Handyman LLC

We contacted Alamo Handyman because our ceiling fan was wobbling. After checking out the fan, Jerry discovered that the fan was not properly installed over 20 years ago. The wobbling was a result of 20 years of use where the fan was hooked into the ceiling. When he went to reinstall it, we realized that the installation kit for the fan was faulty and that it would probably do the same thing again after use. We had already bought a fan in case the original fan was non-repairable. He then installed it and it works perfectly. I had also asked if he would blow leaves and oak blossoms off the roof. He did and then cleaned up the debris when he was through. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and courteous.

I could not have had more respectful and competent service. The office immediately set up the service appointment and evaluation and repair occurred two days later. After testing, the tech determined a new fan replacement was required; he had one on his truck, so replacement was made on the spot. Received Angie's List and new customer discounts and was not even charged for evaluation. No pressure to buy unneeded services or equipment. Excellent value received and would use again.

The light kit did not fit my ceiling fan. I had other small electrical projects and since Trevor had the time, he worked on those while I went to the store to buy a new fan. He had the other projects completed by the time I got back and he then installed the new ceiling fan.

Smitty not only was on time, they called to see if he could come early. He found that the ceiling fan on our deck had not been installed correctly by the home builder and did not meet code. He and his crew installed the correct box before putting in new fan. He also installed a fan in our loft which had apparently suffered an electrical short and could have caused significant problem.

Insulation Works

Well first this is a family owned business which to me is very important. My home was built in 1977 so there was very little insulation to begin with, it was so nice to have an honest estimation of cost. The work was done on the day promised and the time of day as promised. This is a deliteful family who know what they are doing. When they arrived at my home I was explained exactly what would take place. I was told it would take about 6 hours and that was about how long it took . I put trust in this family and I was not disappointed. I would also like to add that some of the suggestions that were made to me were some very good ideas and I will be using this family business again real soon! Oh,did I forget to tell you I got a CPS Rebate, icing on the cake!

Mr. Hamilton showed up promptly at the designated appointment time and went to work immediately installing the ceiling fan. It went very smoothly and he put all of the pieces of the old fan, including screws, light fixture, etc., into the new fan box to be discarded. He then replaced the sprinkler system control box, and checked each zone to make sure they worked properly. Then he even set the days, times and length of watering for each zone. It has been a "lifesaver". Then he replaced two broken garage door panes (which I had purchased) and caulked all around them. We have used him on several different occassions to paint, repair a fence, install a kitchen faucet and and an outdoor faucet. We have always been very pleased with his work. I would highly recommend Mr. Hamilton.

Nightmare!! I give this company an F- rating. Diagnostics took several hours. Man took about 5 hours to determine how the porch fans worked & should be installed. He took another 5 hours to determine our light switches were bad even though he told me this at the beginning and then again at the end of the lengthy diagnostics. I had informed the company we were going on a BD one week trip & needed the job done before our trip or finished after our return. Even though this was agreed to at the beginning the accountant harassed me on my trip for payment. She asked for a tiny bit less than the estimate given so I postponed her a day while I visited with family & conferred with my husband who negotiated the job. I told her I had not even received an invoice & she stated I had not requested one. This is because the job was not done & I did not expect to be harassed about payment before the agreed time. She stated we had added several items to the list of things to be done. In fact, we deleted installing lights in our garage and we did add the installation of one more fan. She called again & I gave her my CC. I needed to stop the harassment & enjoy my BD visiting family trip. The handyman told us this lady does this without consulting the man doing the job. We all agreed we did not add several items to the To-do list. Bottom line - we used this company before & it was great. Only negative was he did not clean up after himself. When I told the company about this a woman stated most clients did not want to pay for what they could do themselves. I called this company twice about another job & they did not return my call. Several weeks later I was called & told I had fallen through the cracks. OK. So I booked them for this nightmarish job. We own our home in Boerne & we have very good credit rating. We had agreed to pay after the job was done. The company knew of my upcoming trip. The harassment for payment was totally uncalled for. The handyman need to be more experienced and spend reasonable time in diagnostics of the installation of porch fans and faulty light switches. And, we requested an invoice for the 1st payment and after waiting one week we called again & finally received the invoice for the money. This company can't wait for payment but will not issue invoices until they get repeated requested to do so.

This was a job well done. Lee (the owner) came by mid-morning on April 16th and was able to install the solar panel powered fan unit by removing the roofing tiles, cutting into the roof and then mounting the fan assembly. The total time was about 2-3 hours which included hooking things up in the attic space. The only problem with the electric hookup was that things apparently had to be connected in a certain order. Not sure if the instructions were read on this, and I didn't even realize that this had to be done until the fan stopped working about 2 weeks after installation. The technical support at US Sunlight knew exactly what the problem was and walked me through the steps to connect it correctly. They said that incorrect connection order was one of their most common and frequent support request issues. That's the only issue I take with the job done, and I guess as the saying goes... read the flippin' instructions (RTFI). Not to make a plug on the solar fan itself, but the fan works great for pulling hot air out of the attic, if anyone is interested.

Recent Review: Called first , and was able to get estimate over the phone. New fan had same dimensions as the old one to be removed so no Sheetrock work was needed. On day of install they arrived on time and complete the job within 30-45 min. Cleaned up afterwards and cost was as estimated over the phone. Very professional. Had previously gotten an estimate from another company for over $500.00 to remove and install fan. Other company included a fee of $150.00 in their estimate for "excessive heat charge" for having to go in the attic.

Recent Review: Ted did a superb job on a wide variety of tasks. His company was very responsive, conscientious, and eager to please. His price was one-fifth of that estimated by a much larger company that sponsors a weekend home improvement show on local radio. Quality was excellent. I highly recommend this company.
