We have recently bought a home with a three car detached garage. The garage had the old pressed board siding that was in terrible shape. We replaced a good bit of the siding ourselves, but I decided that the height of the garage was too dangerous for the family to tackle (they were not real wild about my executive decision, but went along with it). We had already purchased the items needed to finish the job which we had stored in the garage. Again Angie's List came to the rescue. We got several bids to complete the job. One bidder said they would not use our hardie that was already purchased, thus the bid came in very high. The 3 other bids we received were within a couple hundred dollars of each other. I think all would have done a good job based on what I had read on Angie's List. That is what makes choosing a contractor so difficult. But, we choose Action Roofing for the following reasons. Mr. Clarkson didn't send a rep to do the bidding, he came himself. This gave me the opportunity to talk directly to him, and ask all those questions you need answered. He was willing to use the items we had already purchased and if we ran short would pick more up. He did this and gave us copies of all receipts. He always returned e-mail and telephone calls promptly, started the work when he said he would and finished within a couple of days. His crew picked up all old siding, nails, etc. They never left a hint that they had been there each day. By this I mean, no soda cans or trash were left behind. They put up or threw out everything. We were very pleased with the job they did and would highly recommend Action Roofing again.

Concept Windows Siding & Roofing
I originally hired Concept to replace the vinyl siding on my house and my chimney with Hardie board siding. The work was done promptly, professionally and at a reasonable, fair price. They even went over my expectation by painting the work which I did not contract for. As a result I asked for a bid for the roof replacement needed from a recent hail storm. I received a fair bid and hired them for this project as well. I am very particular and reached out to the owner multiple times before and during the project for reassurance for questions and concerns and to make sure that all my expectations were going to be addressed. The owner was very patient with me, returned calls timely, explained everything to my satisfaction and got me the exact shingle type and color that I requested. The shingles were delivered on the day I was told and the bundles were placed on my roof and not in my driveway as some of my neighbors had experienced to their inconvenience with parking. I am very pleased with the results. The employees that roofed the house were very prompt, clean and respectful to my property. It started raining during the installation and they made sure that the roof was weathered-in and would not leak. The owner even reached out to me that evening to reassure me and let me know that if I had any problems he would come remedy the issue no matter what time it was. It was not necessary as there were no problems that night. They finished the job on the day it was promised. They warranty their work for 5 years. The owner also pointed out other things that I had not thought of and other solutions to some issues. I asked if he could have the old gutters removed as these were going to be replaced later and he did that too and hauled them away! I was concerned about the ridge vent on my shed because dirt and debris were getting in under it and getting into the shed. He suggested a lower profile ridge vent that would make it more difficult to have debris get in under it. So far it is working fine. The roof looks great and so does the Hardie board siding. I could not be more satisfied with a company. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for quality work at a fair price.

Owner Patrick Overby was extremely courteous in keeping me informed with pricing details, their insurance coverage, & approximately when they could start. On the first day of work, Mr. Overby introduced me to Shelby & Mike, and all details & any questions were covered. Each day, Shelby and Mike would began work early and their focus on their work was astounding. These two were very meticulous, highly detailed and professional in their work, and opened to any questions that might arise. At the end, I informed Mr. Overby that it was a pleasure to have met such diligent workers in Shelby and Mike. Their total dedication to their craft completely excedeed all my expectations. Oh--and did I mention that the house now looks like brand new. Overall, I will definitely hire Everlast Pro Painting again for any painting needs in the future.

We had all our siding replaced with hardy board. They were quick to give me a clear quote and the only company we talked to that didnt demand to talk to the man of the house. I appreciated the lack of sexism. They kept me up to date with the project and explained everything along the way. Affordable price versus competitors and no hidden charges popped up. The only bug a boos were they always left nails in my driveway. Even after using the magnet thing I always found a few each day. Luckily I found them before our tires did. Also at end of service there were too many things I had to point out to fix. Granted they fixed them all, but dont come to me with a finished product that has like 20 minor things that need to be touched up. Overall, I would use again based on the experience and price. THe house looks like a whole new place and we are very happy with it.

INTEGRITY FIRST HOME IMPROVEMENTS
To date the work still is not complete. He quit our job. He refused to add the floor and crown molding. He wouldn't put inside molding around the new doors. The first time it rained, 11 of the 14 windows leaked. These are Windcore Windows and also allow dust to enter. We discussed this issue with Windcore and they gave new weather stipping to Ken, knowing we were having issues with him and he has never installed it. The door casings on the inside doors no longer fit because of the additional width added by the sheetrock. They have been left hanging loose. We worked through an attorney to get him to finish and he agreed too. Even left a message stating he had the "legal right" to make it right, but then he never shows up when we agree to let him do what needs to be done. It has been a horrible experience. I have pictures if you want to see them.

They were great. They did the original bid (main roof) and the additional work in 1 day. The original bid was for 2000 sq ft however the primary roof was 2700 sq ft which added some cost but they did a professional job on the roof. The repair on the chimney and the back patio was excellent plus they used modified bitumen on the lower slope of the back patio and storm guard under-layment. They were not able to place shingles on the back patio as the slope was not steep enough to drain properly. They had 9 to 10 people working on the roof all day. They placed tarps around the house to catch any loose material or nails from the old roofing that was removed. The cleanup was excellent. I was very pleased with the work. The owner Andrew Tinsley kept in touch with me to keep me abreast of how it was going. All in all it was an excellent job. They showed up on time (actually early) and worked until everything was done.

Bill was always very responsive to my calls and my questions. The workers were punctual and respectful. They always cleaned up at the end of the day and hauled all trash and debris away. They did a great job and were conscientious about giving input, i.e. the need for insulation, especially under the windows. They took photos of areas they wanted to point out to me, in case I wasn't there when they were working on that part on the house. There was an unfortunate glitch when one of their nails hit a water line in my kitchen. They called me on my cell to notify me that they were having to turn the water off. I spent the night at a friend's house since I had no water. It was an inconvenience but I don't believe that it was caused by negligence, it was an unfortunate accident. Their plumber showed up early the next morning to repair the water line and work continued. I would offer a word of caution to anyone wanting to do this same type of repair/renovation with Hardie board. Make sure that you do a paint test on the Hardee board before you decide on a color. I didn't and my beautiful slate green color turned out blue!! I do not fault Action Roofing because Bill was specific in asking that I pick out the color I wanted. They followed my orders re: the brand, name and number of the paint I wanted. Wish I had tested it out first! All in all, I am very impressed and very happy with Action Roofing's quick response time, work ethic and finished product (minus my disappointment re: the paint color). I would recommend this company to anyone wanting to have the same type of work done.

They did an excellent job of locating the problem, removed siding, installed several different water deterrents, added more support to the existing beams, replaced and painted the hardie planks and installed an additional downspout from the gutter. This was on two floor to ceiling windows on a two story townhouse.

Mr. Jay Harper was our first contact with this company. Very professional and courteous. He examined all work to be completed and provided us a quote on service to include install and painting of siding. He included painting all of our fascia & soffit and also the replacement of a section of fascia that had dry rot. Daniel was the foreman on the crew for this project. He and his crew were outstanding. Everyone was professional, courteous and highly skilled. They did a fantastic job on installation and painting. Many things were done well. Hardy Plank siding installed quickly and well. Painting done well. Windows installed adequately, though, I had to mention to the installers to keep the weep holes clear. They had begun to cover over them. The front door was re-installed with hardware backwards. (i fixed it.). The workers didn't/couldn't read the instructions. The company laid tile in my back room. There was a 3-yr warrenty on the install and remodeling work. The tiles had no expansion room. Some tiles cracked when the house shifted. It took me months to get the repair done, though they did eventually honor the warranty. Staff were pleasant to work with, but some crew/installers were incompetent.

Recent Review: I recently had Josrod Roofing replace the shingles on my roof and add a ridgeline vent. They did a good job and were able to finish in one day (our home is only 1,500 sq. ft.). The roof shingles and ridgeline vent look fantastic. We are very pleased with this part of the job. The only issue we had was with the roof edge rain diverters and pre-existing attic air vents. A new rain diverter was not added, two were painted brown, and the fourth was unpainted. They also did not paint the original metal attic air vents. When we brought this to the attention of the business owner (Jose), he had his workers return and make all the corrections to our satisfaction within a reasonable time. Overall, we had a good experience with Josrod Roofing. From the initial free estimate, filing the insurance claim, selecting the shingle, installation, and cleanup. If I could split the and quot;Quality ratingand quot; above, they would receive an and quot;Aand quot; for the roof shingle installation, and a and quot;Band quot; for the metal perimeter installation. There are minor alignment concerns where the metal edging overlaps. From the street, this is not noticeable. The following information is awareness for anyone having this job done, regardless of the installer. My wife and I are very picky and neat. This job is messy. The old shingles are scrapped off and a lot of them fall off the side of the roof leaving the shingle grains all over the sidewalks and a lot of nails. (Josrod did a good job with the cleanup.) The messy part of the job that I did not expect is inside the attic. We use our attic for storage. When the new shingles were nailed on, the 4x8 plywood sheets inside the 18-year old attic shredded slightly with each nail. This left a lot of wood slivers all over the attic insulation and our storage boxes. In addition, the ridgeline vent requires cutting a few inches of wood off the top peak of the 4x8 sheets. This again left shredded wood in the attic. (This is just a messy part of the job, NOT a problem with Josrod Roofing.) I did tell Jose about this, and he offered to clean it up, but I chose to clean this myself (personal preference). If you use your attic for storage, I suggest covering everything prior to anyone installing new shingles.

Recent Review: In the beginning I developed a scope of work document to ensure my expectations of what was required for this job aligned to that in the contractor's bid. After reviewing the bid's received, Strata was selected since they best understood what was required to complete this job, had experience with these types of roof's, and the professionalism shown through our several discussions discussing / clarifying the work scope. Over the course of the installation, working with the Strata team was overall a pleasant experience. They worked with me when any questions / concerns arose since their goal was to ensure there was little stress from start to finish. For me since I was installing a premium shingle roof (CertainTeed Presidential Shake) on my two story home I needed to ensure the right company was doing the work, and not necessarily the cheapest. It has been three months since the install and I have had no issues of any sort and to date have had several compliments on the overall look and installation of the roof.
