The specifications for the sunroom and cover for the deck were taken by a salesman and then the project manager said it wasn't doable. They ruined the deck with cement dust and wouldn't do anything about it. When it came time to build the sunroom, it was just one man who did do a good job. The rest of the company was more interested in getting there money. Unfortunately, we financed it through them so they got paid even before they were finished.

Roy came out within a week after speaking with him at the Home Show at Cal Expo. Originally, I planned to get a sunroom and was impressed with the model he displayed at the time. By the time he came out for the estimate, I changed my mind to just a patio cover only because i haven't lived in my house long enough to determine the shade pattern and how it would affect my need for a sunroom. Roy assured me that it would be no problem to start with the shade cover, then build a sunroom around the deck later if that's where things ended up. The Patio cover went up quickly, and looks great. The posts are aluminum, but are textured and painted so they look like composite wood, yet are going to be maintenance free in the years to come. It's pretty likely that I will have them return to enclose everything in a sun room at a later date, but for now at least, I've got a patio cover that looks like a patio cover and not like something homemade (which surely would have been the case if my husband did it.)

We contracted with Petkus Brothers in March for a porch to be enclosed to make a sunroom. Kevin Petkus led us to believe it would take @ 2 weeks to complete our sunroom and with the 4 seasons sunrooms we would have a tax deduction because it was energy efficient (but a little more expensive). Work started in April. The sunroom was finally finished @ August 1st; we had lost the use of it during the summer. Everything that could possibly go wrong with this project, did. There was one delay after another. The finished product is absolutely beautiful; however, the final insult came when we contacted the 4 seasons company to get the certificate for tax deduction only to be told our sunroom was made using the wrong materials..aluminum rather than plastic. Therefore, we had no deduction coming. Kevin had never described the specific products he would be using in terms of what they were made of nor did he tell us by using one over another, we would lose the tax credit. We feel duped. Again, the finished product is lovely. Knowing now what the outcome would have been, however, would we have chosen Petkus? No.

Made an appointment for them to give me an estimate on remodeling my sunroom. Appointment was for 10am. I took time off work to be home for the estimator. At 10:20am I had no call - no show. I thought to check my work voicemail. They left a message indicating they needed to confirm that I was home before they came out. No one told me to expect this. Wasted my time and money. I told him not to bother coming.

There was a misunderstanding about something I communicated to them, but it didn't end up in the contract. I called them on it and we had to come to an agreement about it. Originally we had brought it up 3 times so it really should have been apart of the contract. Other than that the experience was okay. We got the most basic design you could go with, it doesn't have glass ceilings so it is like an enclosed patio. They showed up everyday and finished the project in a timely fashion. They always sent the same two employees and we had no problems communicating with them. They did a good job, we had a big rain but there were no leaks. The price was more than we were expecting and hoping, but they were basically in the middle of all of the estimates. It came down to two companies and we chose them because they had a slightly better estimate. I'm not sure that I would use them again because of the misunderstanding.

The overall process went very well. The sunroom now has a permit. Randy always answered all my questions. He was courteous, showed up on time & he provided excellent customer service during the entire permit process.

My sunroom is all aluminum frame with dual pane glass panels. It was 20+ years old and several of the glass panels had lost their air-gap vacuum and become cloudy. I signed a contract with Petkus to replace all the glass panels and associated gaskets, flashings, etc. They had to disassemble the framing and reassemble with the new glass panels. I was told the actual work would take about a week. In October 2014 I signed a contract with Petkus to do the work. It was stated in the contract that the work would be completed by November 26, 2014. It is now the end of March 2015 and I am still waiting for the project to be completed. Petkus didn't start the project in November and then was unable/unwilling to schedule and complete the work in the rainy December. It was almost Feburary before the bulk of the work was completed. Now it is the end of March and I am still waiting for the final punch list items to be completed. The project was definitely executed at Petkus' convenience with little effort to meet the contract schedule or to make any effort to wrap the job up quickly after it was delayed. There didn't seem to be much effort to coordinate the work to make sure that all the outstanding issues could be addressed on one trip rather than several. Communication was pretty limited and I would usually have to call or email him to see if/when work was going to be done the following week. The guys who came out to do the work were pleasant did a good job. I would say that maybe if you were retired and/or had no problem waiting for work to be completed when it was convenient for the contractor then Petkus would be fine. But if you have a schedule you need to meet or find it difficult to stay home from work to give the contractor access then you will want to look elsewhere.

We tabled the repairs and have not completed them yet. The overall grade was not allowed to be equal with N/A. N/A was accurate for our not doing the repair, but Overall was not allowed to be N/A.

Recent Review: Kitchen-Mart's quote came in about 2K under another quote we were considering, but we went with them primarily because we didn't like the idea of moving out of our house for a week or more as the other contractor suggested. We knew we would lose the use of our bedroom for awhile which was quite doable and so it went. The folks at Kitchen-Mart were very helpful from the start in explaining the different material options, etc. and made helpful suggestions along the way. Their vertically integrated operation allows them the flexibility to custom fit things where necessary. They cut, form, and machine materials and build custom cabinets in their own shop. I liked the idea that they seemed to have complete control of the project. Little or no sub-contracting. Jon, the craftsman that did most of the work was a true professional and master of many trades. He arrived promptly every morning at 8:00am and worked steadily throughout the day. When we explained that due to the unusually warm weather, we did not object to his coming earlier, he came promptly an hour earlier. (Due to the frequent movement of people and materials in and out the front door, the most convenient access, it was necessary to keep the door open most of the day, thereby negating the A/C.) This did not pose a big problem in the early morning hours. Overall, we have been very satisfied with the completed job. What few minor issues developed, K-M has promply addressed.

Business Description: My name is Josh, owner of Joshua's Painting Service. I have been painting for the majority of my life, with my dad as a kid until now. I'm blessed to be able to say I truly love what I do. I enjoy being a painting contractor. Whether you are an excited homeowner wanting to make their home new again, a realtor looking to make a client happier or a property manager sprucing up an old building. No matter the job, big or small, I am there every step of the way with my employees throughout the process. Whether I am giving free estimates, suggestions on colors, doing the drywall and stucco repairs or replacing dry rotted boards I AM there. Every day, every step of the way. I take great pride in all that I do but especially in my prep work. Without good prep work the finished product won't hold up. But of course my favorite part has to be the finished product, seeing a home or business transform into somebody's dream is always the best! My promise to you, my prospective customer, is to always be there to answer my phone, be on time, and do exactly what I said I would do for the price I said I would do it for. I know if I do these few things I will always be in business, always be busy and always have satisfied customers.

Recent Review: Terrell came out to my house about a week and a half before the job date. We discussed details of building a 17 ft long and 9 ft high shelving unit in the back of my garage. Terrell was able to draw details of what we discussed on a white board, we discussed details of spacing between shelves and supporting verticals to support the expected weight of our storage totes. Terrell was very professional through out the design and installation process. I can tell that he really enjoys woodworking and carpentry since he put much effort into the design and installation process. I felt that he thought through all of the steps as if the work was for his own house. If you are looking for Quaility long lasting carpentry work, I highly recommend contacting Terrell Williams at Build craft.

Recent Review: I’m really pleased with the whole experience – the house, out buildings and relevant fence/gates look Great! Thanks for all the work. It’s the details that matter, and I’m quite pleased that they were met over and beyond expectations. Sam, Justin, Stephen, Alicia, and Tommy were all great - as were those other fellows whose names I don't remember or never learned.

Recent Review: After I had the house painted, I dealt with Clark Wagaman who did the patio covers, and I’ll tell you, the building inspector came out three times. He came out when Clark came out and did all the blue prints because we decided to build another cover over the sliding glass door to the master bedroom, because he said if you do it now it’s more of an all-inclusive price and you will get a better deal. So I said for $600 more, yeah, let’s do it. Well he forgot to submit the blueprints for that. So when the building inspector came out to inspect, he says, “Hey, this wasn’t in the original plan,” so he didn’t pass it. That was no big deal; Clark fixed it. The building inspector came out again and said the overhang on the little patio cover which was part solid and part lattice, he said per the code, the solid part coming out from wall, because it was attached to the wall, cannot be more than 25% of the distance between the support beams or something like that, and we were past that. So I thought, “Are you serious? That was the whole point of putting the patio covers up, so that the rain didn’t blow in.” Well the only thing we could do was take out the solid part and put all lattice. The lattice doesn’t count. Ok, well, Clark came back and fixed that. When the building inspector came back, we were missing three screws on the support column. I called them up and they said, “Well if we have to come back it’s going to be a $135 charge.” So I had to call up Clark again and I told him, “You’re not going to believe this …” and he came back out again. Clark was excellent, excellent! No argument, nothing, just, “What do we have to do to fix it? I’ll take care of it.” When he said he would be here he was here, they came, they left, it was beautiful. He even brought in new ideas when working on the blueprints. There was customer guidance and options.

Recent Review: The job went great from start to finish. One thing that I really appreciated was Nick's attention to detail and general cleanliness. We have grand kids coming in and out and we were concerned that there would be wood scraps and nails that could hurt the kids. We were pleased to see that every day when they were finishing up they loaded all the debris into a trailer and used a magnet to get all the nails. We have had some not so great experiences with larger companies and wanted to use a smaller crew where the actual contractor would show up to do the work, and that's what we got. These guys are some good guys. It is nice to have a family crew come out and do a great job. Thanks so much fellas!

Recent Review: There was quite a mess as the leak had been going on for some time undetected. We had water damage people, water heater people and construction all trying to get their part of the job done. Jim from Christian Construction came in a assessed the damage, cost and timeline. He had his crew there immediately to get estimates on all the areas of damage. Once the water was dried out and new construction could start, they were there rebuild garage section first so new water heater could be installed. Everything was done quickly and efficiently so we would have less down time. From the beginning Christian Construction was on top of and honest about the "down time". Since the cabinets on the garage wall side of the kitchen were damaged, they were torn out and Jim had a custom cabinet maker come in and build new cabinets and they matched perfectly. We even added in pull out shelves. Care was taken when tearing out or replacing to avoid further damage. Floors and walls fully covered and when the cabinets had to be refurbished, every effort was taken to keep odors and dust at a minimum. Overall, the garage/kitchen connecting wall, water heater area, work bench area, were re-done on the garage side. On the inside we had a hall closet with damage and it was repaired and new carpeting put down. The kitchen wall inside was repaired and new cabinet put it, all cabinets were refurbished, new pantry pull outs and updated drawers were installed. They also put in a new granite counter as the old counter had to be torn out as collateral damage from the torn out kitchen cabinet and a new undermount sink. The kitchen was repainted and as a favor they replaced some kitchen lights. Having your kitchen torn out is never a pleasant time but the contractor stayed on the timeline promised and got us back to normal in a decent amount of time. The outcome is a beautiful new kitchen. Everyone we worked with from Christian Construction was friendly, professional and treated our home with respect. I know I drove Jim Christian crazy with my many phone calls but he took it all in stride, even when I called after hours. I would definitely recommend Christian Construction!
