We cannot praise this business enough! Last fall, we purchased a new Lopi woodstove from Sierra Home Alternatives to replace our 25-year-old Vermont Castings stove. Everything went very smooth: Installation was perfect, instructions were clear & everyone we dealt with was very professional & courteous. Over the wood-burning season this past winter, we came to realize that this particular stove was not what we wanted in a wood stove, so we went back to Sierra to talk to them about what we could do to replace it since it was only several months old. During the ensuing discussion, we came to realize that we wanted another Vermont Castings & there was a new one being phased out of their showroom. We ended up buying this one & again, the whole process was flawless. The workers who installed the new stove left our house looking spotless. They took the almost new Lopi to their showroom & agree to try to sell it for us, which they did. We so appreciate this business because they go over & beyond for their customers and are so easy to deal with. Don't go anywhere else if you need a new wood burning or gas stove

This company is the worst in every way. They lied to us about when the stove would be delivered. They installed it incorrectly and came back 3 times to service it. The last time they came to service, they replaced it with a new one. The installers didn't know how to install it. When I told them to take the stove away, they got angry at me. The owner, Bob, is totally unprofessional and rude. He never apologized for the long delivery wait, the improper installation, or the defective stoves. He even kept $200 repair fee for having to service the stove after it was improperly installed. It took us 6 weeks for him to credit our credit card for the returned stove and still hasn't returned our $200. He's rude and insulting, and I'm surprised Sierra Fireplace is still in business. They have lousy products, service, and public relations. Plus, Bob is a crook

The Hot Spot - Year Round Fireside
. We visited the store, and chatted with Carol Rocha, who was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. We explained what we were looking for, and our budget. She showed us some examples in her showroom, and we arranged a time for her installer (Gerardo) to come and check our existing fireplace for the appropriate size, and also establish any possible problems. Gerardo was right on time, and very pleasant. He checked the inner dimensions of the fireplace, the outside venting, and the possibility of raising the fire insert so that it would be more visible when sitting on the sofas. He answered all our questions, explained how the installation could be modified without too much expense, etc. Carol contacted us with a pricing for the gas insert, venting kit, installation, and also the cost of raising the fireplace, all within 24 hours. We felt it very fair as it was the complete price, no surprises, and they would remove the old fireplace and all the peripheral mess. She had a choice of dates for the installation, and we chose the most convenient one (although we could have had it installed within a week of Gerado measuring the fireplace). Carol gave us a time (8.30 -9.30 am) and Gerado with Francisco arrived bang on 8.30 am. They laid out protective sheets over the floor (even though we are replacing the carpet, but it was much appreciated!), and then brought in the fireplace. Even though we had decided not to raise the fireplace (thinking of the budget), when Gerado brought out the surround, my husband said that it would probably look a million times better if we raised it 3 inches. Gerardo was very patient and we looked to see how we could maximise the height of the insert. As we had initially said we wouldn't raise the insert, Gerardo didn't have the materials on hand to achieve this. But he was happy to go and get the necessary boards, etc to build a support under the insert. Francisco carried on with the prep work, and fitting the new chimney cap while Gerardo went to the store. It was only an additional $375 to raise it, which included the materials and labor. It was definitely worth it. As they had to cut, grind, bolt, etc the process took until 2pm. But they were quiet, efficient, and very tidy. They brought their own lunch (but I don't think they ate until the job was over!), and left the living room immaculate. Carol called the next day to check that all had gone as planned. We were more than happy, but did say that the chimney cap base needed to be trimmed from a square to a round so that it wouldn't be so odd looking (HOA architectural review committee came by as the installation was happening, and requested that it match the other homes in the community). Carol completely understood, and as they live close by, said that her husband would trim it with tin snips at no extra charge. As it was an exterior job, we wouldn't need to be at home. Perfect! From the word go, Carol was helpful, efficient and great to deal with. Her estimate was very descriptive, with the complete list of features that would be included in the price, the installation, and the discount (very nice!). The fireplace looks great, and Gerardo showed us the various ways to operate the fire, and took his time to answer all our questions - even though he had another appointment after us. He was unfailingly friendly, helpful and patient. He told us that our satisfaction was very important to him, and that he wanted us to be happy with our fireplace. We are! Thank you so much Carol, Gerardo and Francisco. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a new insert, fireplace, or any other heating matter

Working with Bob Kendrick was a pleasure and he did excellent work. He came to my home to provide an estimate. He provided the best prices compared to other companies that perform the same service. His company installed my gas line and the gas insert. I absolutely love my new gas insert and wish I had installed one years ago. All of its functions are fully remote control. Bob was flexible to work the install around my busy schedule as well. Highly recommend

Custom Fireside Shop
Custom Fireside came out to install a fireplace instert in out old brick fireplace. The people at Custom Fireside were really helpful throughout the entire process. They did not try to upsale a more expensive product. They gave us an honest review of all possible insterts. The people at Custom Fireside clearly explained the differences between brands, and suggested a fireplace insert based on our criteria. Once we decided what insert we wanted, they sent someone out to do the measurement of the fireplace. After the measurement was completed. The insert was ordered and about a week later they called to schedule the install. \ On the day of the install, the installers arrive on time. They came to the door and introduced themselves, and came in to see where the would be working. The first they did was lay down the canvas tarps to cover the floor. One of the installers worked in the house preparing the fireplace, and the second installer worked outside prepairing the lining and the top of the fireplace. When it was time for the lining to go in (all the mess from the fireplace prep was cleaned up) they worked together to make sure a great fite (on the top and down inside). Once the lining was in, the installer that worked outside brought the insert into the house. A few minutes later the insert was being slide into place. The installer that was working inside the house completed all the connections to the insert, and made the balancing adjustments. The person that was working outside, prepare the the insert surround and open the firebrick for installation. The installer continued to team together to complete the installation in a very efficient manor. All the time making sure the work area (both inside and out) was kept clean. The installers were very friendly and willing to answer my kids questions about what they were doing at that time. After evering thing was done, the installers left our house as clean (if not cleaner) then before they came. THey were very professional and friendly
I used lavish gardens landscape to design and build my backyard. We wanted a pool, hardscape, patio cover, retaining wall, and landscape. Our house is brand new and it was a dirt backyard so we had lots of room to work with and a blank canvas. Mike Cole and his team were so professional and easy to work with. My dream backyard was built in a matter of months. They worked with our budget and answered every question we had promptly. Even my neighbors saw the amazing work they had done for us and used them for there're yard. I'm so happy with the way everything turned out. My yard is beautiful and more then I had imagined it could have been. I recommend this company to everyone I know. We will be calling them again this summer to help us design and build our front yard. Thank you so much Mike and your team for everything!
Mark was a great consultant and gave us a lot of great ideas and was able to design all kitchen layouts for us. His prices were very competitive to the other contractors, but most of all we liked that they were very efficient and were delivering what was promised. Mark assigned a Project Manager Vladimir to supervise and coordinate the entire project. America's Dream Homeworks installers were very polite and pleasant - and very hard workers. They always kept the working areas neat and cleaned and hauled away all job related debris when they finished. Definitely will recommend this company to my family, all my co-workers and friends
Extremely pleased with Rod and his abilities to problem solve and aftermarket blower installation that I thought wasn't going to fit. A job well done. The office had a bit of miscommunication with appt time which had me flustered, as he arrived earlier than I was expecting and had to change my schedule to work around, but the the work itself was great. Highly recommend
Spectrum One is our choice over and over again for renovating our home, which was built in the 1960s. Dennis comes out and looks at the scope of the project and gets back to you in a timely manner with an incredibly detailed and professional proposal. He takes into account your vision for the home and offers suggestions for improving the project or explains how the team can make that vision come to life. The project managers who oversee the project from start to finish have been diligent, respectful and ensure that the work being done is of the highest standards. They are on-site every day with a whole team working to get the job done as beautifully and as quickly as possible. The attention to detail from the whole group is what I most appreciate. We have used them for whole-home flooring (removal, installation and baseboards), recessed lighting, countertops, backsplash and would trust them with any project. We recently completed a third project with Spectrum One that included widening doorways, redoing an outdated fireplace hearth, and remodeling two bathrooms. Everyone at Spectrum One is quick to respond, honest, creative, and fun to be around. We love them and highly recommend to anyone looking to do a renovation, repair, or build
The idea is that they take care of renovations from your floor up to your ceiling for bathrooms and kitchens, primarily. So they have tile, they have wallpaper, they have new cabinets, they have all of that. So if you want to upgrade your bathroom or your kitchen, they are the people to do it. They did a fabulous job. We were sufficiently happy with the manager of that office. He came out and talked with my wife and looked over the job and sketched it out and had ideas. Then he and his team did a terrific job. We were very pleased with their work. And then three years later we hired them again to come and renovate the kitchen. The president of the company personally did it. His name is Robert Paulson. He is very thorough and detail oriented. He is personable and professional. He knows what he is doing and he helped us all along the way as we matched tile with cabinets and painting and tiles around the shower. He has a very good eye for color and for what fits together and how to make the tiles look good. He is just a very impressive guy when it comes to this business
Great to work with Living Elements Landscape. They did an amazing job. My front yard was over run with English Ivy. It all had to be removed, graded, landscape matting put down. I went with a dryscape rocks so that I don't need to water anything. I love it, requires no upkeep. They also extended my retaining wall, it was partially completed with cinder block so i needed the rest completed as the part that was not cinder block was rotting wood and falling apart. The team was great, was a pleasure to work with the Field Supervisor's Bilal "Bill" and Matt. Can't say enough good things about these two, they were on time kept me updated on what has happening. Thank you for the great work
Stan and his team performed two services for us, both were top notch. First they installed a top down damper to seal up my chimney and keep the warm air in the house when the fireplace is not in use ($425). Next, their masons came out and rebuilt the firebox ($1,000). It looks so great, we've decided to just keep the damper closed with a log in the fireplace for ornament. Perhaps next year, we'll have gas installed. If we do, we'll have Stan and his team do it, because they really now fireplaces, and do excellent and professional work
Technician knew exactly what the problem was and completed the task in a short amount of time. He was very professional. This service is part of a home warranty purchased through Sears. Cost is $40/month to cover a number of appliances (stove, oven, wash/dry, microwave, etc.). In this case, it was $80 to fix the microwave
Technician was on time and explained everything he was doing. He was very professional and thorough. As he was cleaning the fireplace a part broke. He said he would order the part and let us know when it was in and a install date. He also checked the furnace and found it was in very good shape for being over 15 years old. He wasn't high pressure about getting us to buy a maintenance plan. The only issue I have with this company is that the part took almost a month to come in. Instead of letting us know the status we had to call them a couple of times to get an update. The wait wouldn't have been so bad except it was cold and we hadn't realized how much we depend on the fireplace. After the part was installed the fireplace is working even better than before
When the technician arrived on time at the scheduled appointment time, he immediately got to work. In no time, he found that the chimney had already been thoroughly cleaned. He performed the inspection and recommended we get a chimney cap installed and said it's something that we could do ourselves so it doesn't cost any more money to have someone else do it. I was very impressed of how honest he was as he could have gone ahead and cleaned the chimney knowing it didn't need it and charged me for the full service. Instead, he just charged for the inspection as this was the only service performed. I will definitely be using Mike's Mobile Chimney for my chimney/fireplace
Bottom line, Robin knows his stuff. When he saw our pellet stove you would've thought he was talking about one of his kids. He knew the brand, the model, the things that typically go wrong, what to watch for, how long they last . . . get the idea. It wasn't just what he knew it was his enthusiasm too, very infectious. As mentioned above worked great with the contractor that was doing the tile and mantle work which was a huge relief for me. Then when you contrast his work to the job of the other company that was well reviewed on angies list, lets just say there is a stark and pleasant difference
Shawn was efficient, neat while working, cleaned up the area. His bid was the lowest we received. Shawn gave us good advice about re-tiling. He arrived when he told us, and worked consistently until the job was done. Very nice person. I have no reservations in recommending him.

Thought we would have to get new awning frame, but no! Abercrombie cleaned it and tweaked it and then just got new awning material! Fabulous and saved us money! Wood stove installation equally good, mounting it in our old wood burning brick and mortar fireplace. Great work, timely, professional and honest.
