Steve can out fixed the problem and made some suggestions on other issues around the house. For the time Steve spent and helpful suggestions the price was very reasonable. Steve was very honest, things he thought were too much for him he said so and made suggestions.

Excellent. They were on time and on price. They came out a day or two after I first called them to give me an estimate. The work was completed a few days later. They guaranteed their work for the life of the home. They also gave me a discount since I was an angie's list member.

DAN TOLSON CONSTRUCTION
5.0
Went very well. Dan returned my initial contact call within a day I believe. Quote took perhaps a week. I did check up with him on status so a little persistence was in order but not hugely so. Scheduled within a few days, with some limitations on my part. Crew of 3 showed up as scheduled. Crew was friendly and enthusiastic. Work performed was much above par, definitely met all my expectations. Crew was also very professional, and I mention this because I've been around construction people and contractors a lot and am aware of the crude and vulgar language, discussions and attitudes that can be prevalent. This crew displayed none of this. Enjoyed the experience and would use Dan and his group again.

Kent Kaiser Construction

Kent did an amazing job. He arranged and worked with an engineer to make sure the changes would bring the constructions to code. He worked hard to make sure the solutions were the best trade-offs in terms of cost and impact to finished construction. Our house sits on solid rock. The interior sheer wall required digging a 16 feet long, 12and quot; deep and 12and quot; wide trench in solid rock, and the workers had to use small electric jack hammers because of the limited space to move around. Then they built forms and installed re-bar reinforcement before pouring the concrete. This construction (the concrete wall, sheer boards and wall above that needed additional sheer strength) are not going anywhere! Kent and his team were a pleasure to work with. They were professional and competent. I will hire him again for future projects.

Steve had come by to solve other problems before: fix a broken lock on my garage door, determine the best course as per making a fountain pump functional, coming up with an amazing scheme to make my crawl space humanely inaccessible to skunks...this guy is quite the find. His prices are reasonable, he is precise and determined without being overbearing, has a fine sense of humor, very easy to get along with. I just wish I could have contacted him when I first moved here.

Manuel came to our house to give us an estimate on replacing the front and back doors; he was on time, friendly and very knowledgeable about the work involved. We knew nothing about doors, so he took the time to inform us about different kinds of doors and their pros and cons. He explained how he would install them, how long it would take and gave a reasonable price. Although we had other bids, we chose Manuel because of his knowledge and experience. Manuel did a great job installing the front door; we love it! When he removed the back door he found dry rot, which required evaluation of the problem and a new estimate. Again, the cost was reasonable, although scary, because it was impossible to access/see all the areas that might be destroyed and the cost could go up drastically. We are happy to say that Manuel found LESS dry rot than he expected and he dropped the price accordingly. Very honest! We love the new back door ( including the new cat door)! When Manuel came out to give us the door estimate, I learned he could repair our fence so I asked for an estimate. Again, he assessed the necessary work carefully, trying to cut our costs with suggestions that would not necessitate brand new fence. We hired him and he did a professional, neat job. His work areas were always safe and clean, during and after construction. We will definitely hire Manuel again; he has a huge resume of construction experience and is so reliable. With this in mind, we are keeping an ongoing list of repairs and fixes needed.

I had a horrible time with the previous contractors. Many contractors refused to show up and some who did gave estimates ranging from $2000-$8000. The guy who said $2000 were inept and the $8000 guys seemed to be overcharging. I had a hard time find a good & honest contractor. After much researching and failed starts, I found Carlos on Angie's List and decided to try him. It was a long wait for him because he seems to take only one project at a time and does it start to finish. This seemed to be good change from those who took too many projects and vanished in the middle. The wait paid off. He showed up, was knowledgeable and willing to hear. When he was unsure of the effort needed for the sub floor he was upfront and said he will work on it, but charged by the hour. In the end he did a good job of the floor and cost me $1000. I liked his style of bidding for the labor & leaving the choice of parts to me. Also, I liked the fact that he could shop for me, or go shopping with me.

Mike arrived early at 8 am as promised to get started on the process as it gets hot in the attatic crawl space and wanted to get the job done in a timely manner. He was polite, detailed and very professional. During our initial consultation I could tell he took pride in his work and I was not disappointed. He did an excellent job and keep us up to date on his progress as he went along. He asked us questions if needed and did not assume. He did not disrupt our day and we did not disrupt his except to offer him a bottle of cold water here and there. The entire job took about 7 hours. Mike cleaned up his work area in both the bedroom and family room. The ceiling fans with/lights utilize a remote and they look fantastic. His cost to do the job was reasonable. It's a joy to be able to go into those rooms now and feel the breeze from the fans as opposed to always putting on the air conditioning. I would definitely recommend him for electrical as well as handyman work to family and friends going forward. I will use him for future needs electricity wise as well as handyman services. He is a very humble yet outstanding professional to do business with. My husband and I highly recommend his services.

Business Description: I enjoy providing home improvement craftsmanship! Much of my childhood was spent building things in the garage with my Dad. Later, I attended CSU Sacramento where I earned a BS in Construction Engineering Management. I spent the first twelve years of my career working for a steel fabricator as a project manager. I missed the satisfaction of working with my hands, so I ventured out on my own and started Build Craft Inc. Build Craft Inc. is a licensed General Contractor specializing in handyman repairs and home management services. With my background in fabricating metal and wood, I strive to provide quality home improvement craftsmanship. Much of my work is scheduled on a time and material basis. This allows me to provide high-quality work and more open communication. A fixed price motivates the contractor to give less and be less attentive to the customer's needs. Profitability is increased as cheaper materials are substituted, faster shortcuts are employed, and problems are ignored. Don't be fooled... "The bitterness of poor quality lasts long after the sweetness of a low price is gone." My goal is to meet your expectations. Your satisfaction is guaranteed! LICENSE: #870405. Award winning.

Recent Review: 2nd time to use his service. 1st time was stucco work which was perfect job. 2nd time he had a sick family member and asked me if I could wait. Called me as he said he would and showed up on time. All work was done to completion and to my satisfaction. Even did extra work without asking for extra money -- cleaned the inside of my dryer off the ink from a ballpoint pen I dropped in my laundry. Took a hour as the ballpoint pen was spewing ink everywhere. He came back to touch up on his stucco work two different days, after I paid him on the first day.
